I like to view here as an extention of the game. Hense out of game comparisons & analogies etc are frowned upon. & Id also like to think the bitterness & spiteful tone many ppl express here is purely contained ingame. Id hate to go to one of those evemeets (which i dont intend to  ) only to have someone from REDswarm or D2 etc come up & throw their drink at me for being on the otherside  . & vice versa id hope i wouldnt repay the favor 
Everyone who has the nerve and the patience to play eve online has my greatest respect in RL, regardless which of the funny intarweb spaceships he/she may fly 
Actually, I would say it's more the fact that the internet tough guys aren't so tough in person. But I will agree that most people that care enough to meet IRL are decent people. I find there's always one or two that forget they aren't hiding behind a computer screen anymore.
(BTW these comments are for gamers and e-thugs in general, not necessarily EVE-O)

Ask FIX. 
We're a small band of mostly friends and acquaintances that live up North and like to shoot stuff...the alliance was made mostly for standings, the founding corp is over 3 years old even though most of us nublets have only been around about 20 months.

They came down to Impass once. They all departed in pods, but they left behind killmails and cans with Livestock in them. I thought it was pretty funny.

You fail to mention that we were all flying Destroyers, and engaged a dread sitting at the station. Survival wasn't high on our list of priorities that night, and you'll find us a bit tougher to down in our usual ships.
