It is yet again coming close to that time of the year when the fabulous, wonderful and amazing people of EVE gather in the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, for 3 days of partying, beer, lectures, beer, roundtables, beer and much, much more! And beer of course.
EVE Fanfest 2007 will be held November 1st to 3rd this year, so order your flight and hotel package, get your fanfest pass, pack your bags and then just sit and wait for about 8 months... Maybe you don't need to pack just yet, but make sure you order the package to catch the "early bird special" provided by Icelandair. Please note that you will need to purchase the fanfest pass separatley from the flight and hotel package.
This year will be bigger than before, better than before and with more Devs (and beer) than before! Head over to the EVE Fanfest 2007 page and read all there is to know about it!

Originally by: errorist Was wondering since you say beer beer and more beer.. is there any age restriction here ?
Age restriction to be present at a place that serves alcohol is 18, which therefore is also the age limit to attend the Fanfest. The age limit to purchase alcohol is 20 though, so if you're over 18 but under 20 you can attend but you can't drink.

Originally by: Leeloo Lamenti I went to the Icelandair to check out the deals (I'm in Canada), and I saw that when leaving from Minneapolis I can get 3 additional nights from 49$ a night. I figure sweet gig - but when I actually try to book it from Minneapolis I can only get the standard package of 3 nights or whatever.
Is this something EVE needs to discuss with Icelandair?
You can see the Minneapolis deal quote here
I'd really like to go, but without this additional nights deal it makes the cost somewhat unfeasabile. Anybody know what the real deal here is?
Thanks.
I think you might need to contact them for additional days, best is to contact their Customer Support first and ask how it works.
Originally by: Bozse Just hoping there will be a package from Gothenburg this year and not only Stockholm
I don't know, but there's always Copenhagen, and I believe there are trains going straight from Gothenburg to Copenhagen via the airport, otherwise you could just switch trains at Malm÷.

Originally by: Diatom Why don't you have a departure from a West Coast of America? We have some great airports in California, Oregon, and Washington. There are a lot of EVE Players out here.
The packages are limited to airports Icelandair flies to, which doesn't seem to include the US west coast. Your solution would probably be to get a flight to an airport Icelandair flies from.

now i have to think what to do next...
Get another hotel, the Icelandair package really only contains flight and hotel anyway. I googled Hotel.is, but there are probably other sites. Just google and check different websites and I'm sure you'll find something suitable.
You could also contact Icelandair customer support and see if they can help you change the order, provided you ordered your flight from them of course.

Well 400km to Sthlm and 350km to Malm÷ so it's same same but different, the distance isn't realy the issue tho but more the extra cost to an allready fairly expensive trip.
I will certainly bring it up, but the nature of our relation with Icelandair is partnership, we are not their boss so that decision would be up to them. I think it would be easier if a lot of Gothenburgers complained though.
The advice I can give you is to go with Copenhagen, even if the distance is almost the same. If you get a ticket to Malm÷ you just have to switch trains, they go every 20 minutes from Malm÷ to Copenhagen via Kastrup Airport, and once you're there you just go off the train, into the airport and check in. While you have to take a train to Stockholm, switch to the arlanda train or bus, find the right terminal and try to check in. It's up to you though. But whatever you do, I would suggest you order the package before 31 May to get the early bird special which is cheaper. And ordering the train ticket to either Malm÷ (unless X2000 goes to Kastrup ofc) or Stockholm as soon as possible as a "Just nu" ticket which should still be cheap since it's so many months away.

If you can't add days while ordering, please contact Icelandair customer support and see if they can fix it for you.
Originally by: Niccolado Starwalker Been thinking of going this year too. had great fun last year, but not sure yet. I dont really know that many ingame, and I hate to drink alone!
But I still miss Eris Discordia's signature on my EVE Fanfest Poster of 2006, and I want to correct that
Question, any hotels very close to the hall? I cant seem to find any maps showing the arenas location etc. Any help would be much appreaciated!!
We had 600 there last year, and it seems like we'll get a lot more this year, I doubt you'll have to drink alone.
Funny thing is, I see my name on the poster but I can't remember signing it.

I've also forwarded all ideas, suggestions and complaints to the powers that be at CCP, who will bring it up with Icelandair and other related parties.

The Loftleidir is near Icelands domestic airport, not the international one. It's fairly far out from the city center, and definately further away than a 20 minute walk from the venue. Nordica on the other hand is about a 3 minute walk away from the venue.

Has a schedule for the event been drafted yet? Even it is really is subject to change?
Thursday, 1 November, is mainly the registration day. You come to the venue, register, and then it's just some mingling with the other people. It's a very informal thing, most big events wont start until friday. And if anyone can't make it Thursday because of a late flight, you will still be able to register on Monday.

Originally by: Gustovness Hey fellas, I'm kinda worried about the shuttle ride from Keflavik airport to the Reyjavik hotel.... How long is it? The flight is supposed to arrive at Keflavik at 6am, but when does the fanfest open up? When does the shuttle get to the hotel? When we arrive, will the hotel be strict about check in times? I'm coming from Las Vegas, NV, USA, and a day's worth of travel will warrant a washing of one's ass, I'm sure!
Please, I'd like to get a reply from someone who has actually gone before, not from someone who feels like sayin "meh, it should take A, B, and C ammounts of time..."
That's really the only thing that's got me worried... the shuttle ride from Keflavik to Reyjavik seems like it'd take a LONG time!!! Feel free to reply to me via eve-mail!! As a matter of fact, I'd prefer it!
When you arrive at the airport you just go to pick up your bags and then it's a quick exit. Outside the airport there will be a flybus, it costs about 1200 ISK, I would suggest you get some ISK through your bank prior to leaving but you can just use the ATM at the airport. You get on the bus, pay them and tell them what hotel you're going to. The bus goes to the BS- terminal in Reykjavik where you either have to change bus to your hotel or remain on the current bus, depending on what hotel you're going to. But you don't have to worry, they will tell you everything, and you can always ask them anything you want to know, they all speak english. The whole thing generally takes about 50 minutes.
I'm assuming you're arriving at 6 am on Thursday, but even so you should reach the hotel around 0700-0730 or so, you shouldn't have a problem checking in. We haven't decided on a time when the Fanfest opens, but Thursday is mainly registration, I would guess around noon. During and after that there will be some mingling and some events to liven things up, the major things won't start until Friday though, so those of you arriving on friday wont miss anything.
And I've been going to the Fanfest since 2004, even if I fly from Sweden and not the US.
Originally by: Sucram I just saw that the return flight for us swedes takes of at 07:45 on the sunday...
That is the only flight Icelandair has to Sweden on Sundays, if you want to avoid it you can contact Icelandair customer support and see if you can add a day so you wont leave until Monday. Then you can use Sunday for a trip to the Blue Lagoon. Or you can just party all Saturday evening and sleep on the plane.
Originally by: James Damar Same for us dutchies and I can't seem to find an option to add an extra day, or I'm just being dumb (which is probably the case) but can anybody link me? Or is there no need to maybe get an extra day because saturday night is not that big a thing?
I would suggest contacting Icelandair customer support and see if they can help you out.

Last time alot of us got pretty drunk during this supposed "mingling", was a nice start to 3 days drunk in a row.
Well, it'll be a bit more than just mingling this year, with some events to make things more fun than just randomly walk around trying to talk to people. I'm sure you can still get drunk though.

Some updates that will soon make it to the EVE Fanfest 2007 page.
Some package prices were wrong, it's cheaper and not more expensive though, here are the correct ones: Denmark from 2800 DKK Sweden from 3600 SEK Norway from 3175 NOK
All travel packages include airfare and hotel, they do not include round-trip airport/hotel transfers.

What do you consider cold weather clothes? WhatŚs the temperature there when it is cold?
I already had problems finding a good winter coat in Holland, I bought one here instead. I suggest bringing fleece jackets and think of layering of clothes. Outside it can be windy and freezing but inside it will probably be very hot because heating is cheap here. Go for thick shoes and thick pants, no flimsey fabrics.
Add in additional costs for a cab to drive you around town depending on what hotel you are staying at and how close it is to the fanfest location.
Why is this signature pink?
It is a mystery

For those of you who get a trip with some extra days there's Reykjavik Excursions and Iceland Excursions if you want to go see some of Iceland. There's of course the main shopping street, which is about 15-20 min walk from Nordica. Excursions and buses to the city center can usually be booked at some hotels or online.

Marketing has informed me that "the sales are going tremendously well". There's still a lot of months left to book your package and Fanfest pass, but if you want to get the 'early bird special' which is a lower package price, you should order before May 31!

As I am coming from New Zealand, I am planning a few weeks holiday around europe before the fanfest to make the most of the extraordinary cost getting over there. If the packages are likely to be quite limited, I will need to do a bit more planning to know which country Ill be flying from.
The Icelandair packages have 'early bird special' price until 31 May, or until they're sold out. I don't think it's possible to say if they will sell out before 31 May or not, I could talk to marketing and see if they can get something from Icelandair, but even if we can it would only be an educated guess at best. I would suggest that you plan your trip as soon as you can anyway.
Copenhagen is a nice city to visit, you could consider making a stop there during your trip to Europe and take the Danish Icelandair package.

Depends on where you go, can get as low as 350 ISK up to about 600-700 ISK and anywhere in between. 350 ISK is not that common though.
I prefer this currency converter myself, it's not 100% accurate because the exchange rates and bank fees changes, but it gives you an idea.

Originally by: Phil Carter I want to get there this year but wth is it so expensive? 369 Ç for flight and hotel + 65 Ç FF Pass? I can book a flight in my local store to (and back from) Ibiza for one week all-inclusive for less than 300 Ç. Why are three days of Iceland so expensive? :(
Mainly because Iceland is a small island and they have to import everything.
Originally by: hundurinn Count me in and I only need to buy the fan fest pass. Sometimes it pays off to live in Iceland, which is a RARE occasion.
Oveur and Nozh was down in Copenhagen last weekend, and we went into some expensive clothes type store with brand clothes only. I thought it was way too expensive and that you could get that stuff cheaper somewhere else anyway. They told me that it was still about half price compared to Iceland. I'm never moving there, I'm way too cheap for that...
Originally by: Laird For the people who would be arriving later on the Thursday can they still sign up for the Round Table discussions?
It's first come first served, but if there are seats left you can sign up of course.

I don't think more destinations will be added this year at least. You can check www.icelandair.ca to put together flight and hotel yourself, or use the closest US package.

I just wanted to confirm that, yes it is possible to see me at the FanFest 2007. Just today i booked my flight and hotel. last night i got my event pass.
I do how ever have a question for the locals or CCP staff to answer. My hotel is Radisson SAS 1919, it is supposed to be in the centre. Is it within walking distance to event location or do i need my shuttle to get there?
Thank you kindly and see you all there.

I'd guess around 15 min walk. Iceland in November can be a bit cold though so warm clothes would be good if you plan to walk.

You should probably compare the cost (and time?) of going to Sweden for the Fanfest package to the cost of taking a non Fanfest package from Finland. I haven't so I don't know which one would be cheaper, but if someone does you're welcome to post it here.

Taking your laptop downtown and having coffee is one of the hippest things to do in Reykjavik. Most places downtown have wireless Internet. But will your wife be so busy that she canŚt take a few days off and just walk around Reykjavik enjoying new sights, go to the spa etc?

Where will we get Concordokened for podding haulers? We need to know where there are Medical Facilities (rumors are the damsel was seen near Hotel Loftleidir).
Laugavegur is more of high sec with lots of people, but I wouldn't recommend going too far on the sidestreets, I almost got attacked there myself a few years ago (though my WCS worked and I quickly got back to the main street) but I'd say that qualifies as low sec. As for medical facilities, we did put a pharmacy on the map.
Originally by: Chribba Nice map... I think you should include Nordica on it as well as many pilots will dock there as well.
I was thinking that too, for everyone who doesn't know, Pizza Hut is in the same building as the Nordica.

Actually, I remember that the no-smoking signs on the tables inside were replaced by ashtrays in the late afternoon or evening. Making sure that that doesn't happen will help a lot I guess.
And yes, I am a heavy smoker myself. As long as there is a spot where you can smoke without having to stand in the rain I'm happy
There will be a place for us smokers, someplace out side, with some shelter from the weather - I hope.
So do I, considering I smoke...
But I do understand that a lot of people might not want to inhale our smoke just because they're at the Fanfest.

The trip to and from the Blue Lagoon, including entrance fee, is about Ç42. Hotel Cabin is about 3 blocks away from Laugavegur, so we're talking just a few minutes walk. I don't know exactly how many hours, but it's not much, some sun around the day, mornings and afternoons are probably dark. I don't think you need to worry about crimes around there, since it's a weekend people will probably be drinking fn places around that area though. We do not give tours of the CCP Office and therefore the location is not put on our map.

All the girls at CCP have had power meetings at the coffee machine and set up a plan of action to get some fun stuff to happen at Fanfest for the women attending. Some of you may think no women will be at a game meet up but we expect to see a lot more of us this year. For one, all the female devs are attending. With CCP recruiting massively, we gained a lot of female devs in the last year.
Plans are contingent upon how many women EVE players are attending, so be sure to indicate in your registration that youĆre female. The more the merrier and the more activities we can plan in advance. If you know a few girls who play EVE, let them know that there will be a lot of other women at Fanfest and they will be made welcome by everyone, especially by all the ladies of CCP.
IĆll keep this thread updated and answer any questions, but itĆs too early to spoil or hint at what we are planning, but take my word for it, itĆs going to be fun. .

Which I can definitely understand, because last years fanfest where simply SUPERB!

Am I able to trade one for the Sisters of Eve pass?
I will have to ask the powers that be about that, but it will probably be possible, I can't promise anything though. I should get an answer next week.
Originally by: XD Andy Edited by: XD Andy on 30/08/2007 17:04:54 Question about the "Sisters of Eve" package, and the "Fanfest" itself in part.
I've finally persuaded my wife that Iceland is a really cool place to visit, and that October/November is definately one of the cooler times to go. Infact, we'll be coming the weekend before so we can do some tourist stuff before fanfest starts, so if there are any pre-fanfest gatherings going on, would love to meet people in advance.
We will be bringing our 6 month old (will be 8 month old) noob along for the trip, but unfortunately he's a little young to go out exploring on his own yet, so will need to tag along with one of us.
Are either of these events (or portions of them) amenable to bringing infants? Ideally my wife wants to do Sisters of Eve thing, but would need to know what she can an can't bring our son along to, and for those things she can't, would I be able to take him with me to fanfest?
Won't necessarily be using a push-chair, as we got a pod-carrier as well.
Ideally need to know ASAP as want to book the tickets before they run out !!!
I will try to get some definite answers for you on this tomorrow. I don't think we would need a Fanfest pass for your son, but you should know that it can get a bit loud at times and that might not be good for him. I doubt it would be much of a problem, since you can always find some calm place though.
I don't think your wife can bring him on the jeep tour, maybe the swimming thing, but it's an outdoors facility in november so it might be a bit cold for him. I don't know the exact times for the sisters events, but as I understand them they're mainly going to take place during the day, the sister pass gives your wife access to the Fanfest after 18.00, so worrst case you can probably miss a bit of Fanfest. I'm not entirely sure on this though but I'll try to get better answers tomorrow.

XD Andy, regarding the spouse program. I would not recommend it for toddlers since the Blue Lagoon and the swimming pool are too cold for children at that age. Regarding the jeep tour, theoratically she could bring the child with her but I don't recommend it since there is a stop by a cave for an hour and she could not take the child with her there. I would recommend that she buys a ticket to the Fanfest so she can mingle with people there, there will not be an issue to bring the child with her to the Fanfest area. I can recommend other nice geothermic baths that are perfect for toddlers while you are here in Iceland, they are indoors and are heated extra during the weekends for their youngest visitors.
For the jeep tour, we don't recommend it for children under the age of 6. I see that I have to think of a daycare for next Fanfest. It's great to see how many are interested to bring their families along.

Originally by: Lynndia Being a first time Fanfair attendee, I would not mind hints, suggestions or even advice. I am planning to come the weekend before the FF and see some of Iceland. I only lack two things; a place to stay that is not too expensive and things to do while waiting for the fair to start. (Drinking is for after the FF starts)
BTW I am a WOMEN IN EVE - so mark me on your list of women attending
So if you who live, work and play in Iceland all year long would help me with some good meaningful information to make this long awaited trip a great one I would appreciate it.
Thank you.
If you can drive a car you can rent one for a fairly good price, around 4000 isk. With it you can drive anywhere to do some sightseeing, otherwise there is www.re.is Go to winter and there is a list of trips near reykjavik to do around wintertime.
If you plan to relax there are plenty of nice places in reykjavik to have a coffee, something to eat and relax.
www.kringlan.is is the website for the shoppingmall if youŚd rather go shopping. The mainstreet Laugevegur is not bad either
Public transport is cheap and a way to do a circle around reykjavik and see a bit more of reykjavik without driving and staying warm.

I would suggest that you call the hotel where you're staying and ask if they can either provide babysitting service or recommend someone who does, and get details from this service such as what age they accept, price, open hours etc.

At this stage it was too late to withdraw the vacation and get our money back.
What Now? I am 17 years old from the date of 15th of juli. Is there an exception to be made? Is it true that last years kids where alowed to go? Can I be a kid and come together with my godfater? Or does this mean i couldv' burned my Euro's to get rid of them faster?
ps: I am not alowed to drink beer due to a rare kidney deseace. I feel like a Brazillian now, ISK PLIX.
I'm really sorry to hear this. The problem is that the 18 year age limit is due to Icelandic law, since we serve alcohol you have to be 18 to enter the Fanfest area. There is nothing we can do about this I'm afraid.
We will look into the exact details of Icelandic law tomorrow and see if it would be possible for you to enter the Fanfest area with a legal guardian or similar.

However due to real life issues I am now unable to attend. On a plus note however a friend is going and is willing to take my tickets.
Do I need to transfer them over to his name? Or is it ok just to give him the code I was issued when I bought the tickets and he can pick them up on the day?
Please send me an email and I'll see what we can do.

Originally by: Shin Ra Wrangler,
I have my ticket and I want to book the Icelandair package from London. However, the only option is to travel on the Thursday morning (after fanfest starts) and return on the saturday evening (while the drunken antics are still going on). What gives? I want to go Wednesday - Sunday, but the only option is book it all separately and pay much more in the process. Can someone take a look at this.
I believe the flight was sold out, but I've actually already sent an email about this. You have to understand that this is more a partnership with Icelandair than us telling them what to do, so we can't guarantee anything. But hopefully something will be added, though maybe it would mean extra days in Iceland or something.
The only other suggestion I really have would be to book a Fanfest package from maybe Copenhagen or something and then just fly over there? It means extra flight time of course, going through check in and security an extra time etc. but the good thing about London is that they tend to have really cheap flights to some places, so if we can't get anything for the UK package you should compare prices.
Something that may be even easier would be to select a flight from Manchester, I believe they have packages left, even though it might require a train ride.

"Dont know" Would it be sensible to get some Krona in cash before I leave? "Dont know" Can you give me cash in Krona? "Probably not"
I should probably just email Iceland Air. THey must know what services are available at the airport... but with so much frustration I had to ***** somewhere :)
Anyhow, looking forward to the trip - I'm sure that with the modern marvels of internet banking, all will be fine. Any other New Zealanders who might be going (I saw there was one posting earlier), let me know if there are any smart things I can do to minimise my fee's and conversions.
Why cant overseas travel be stress-free?
The currency is ISK, and there are ATM's at the airport, I know they take visa and mastercard at least. I'm not sure if they take euros though, some places might but if you're taking euro I suggest you exchange it at a bank or something.

Originally by: Naim Stargazer aah thanks for the replies. Google already answered all my questions for me - i was really just complaining that the banks 'foreign currency person' seemed unable to be helpful to me (indeed they didnt even know what currency was used in Iceland - I had to tell them).
But its all good - the main thing was whether Euro could be exchanged at the airport for Krona. The bank recommended I get my travelers cheques in pounds or USD, but that incurs currency conversion fees for all the times I am in Europe!
It seems credit card is a good option with low fees for use overseas, so I might rely heavily on it for the Iceland portion of my holiday. Luckily I got the early-bird package and my flights/accomodation are already paid for :)
Unless you're planning on staying for a long time in Europe I don't think travelers cheques are worth it, but since you seem to plan on a longer vacation it might be for you. As I understand it they're mainly good because they're safer than cash. But I couldn't really give you any advice since the first and last time I used those were in 96.
There is at least one ATM at Iceland Airport and two bank locations of some sort though I'm not sure if the banks are outside the secure area (one ATM is though), there's a bank office in the Nordica building with an ATM, so getting cash in Iceland shouldn't be any problems if you have visa or mastercard at least.

I do have a question about it. I sometimes play Eve but most often don't; whereas my hubby usually has his account going on along with another monthly game.
Could I be a member of Sisters of Eve as well as a sometimes player? Or do you have to be one or the other. I would not give my account or my two characters up even though I don't play them that often.
Also - HELP! How do I put my character portrait in my Avatar and post a Signature? Thanks
Sisters of EVE is basically only a Fanfest thing, where you take a jeep tour and go to a swimming facility during the day while your significant other goes to the Fanfest. The Sisters pass gives you access to the Fanfest after 18.00 though, so you can attend it in the evenings.
Your portrait updates automatically after a while, and if you press settings in the left hand menu you'll be able to put something in your signature.

For those of you who asked us about Fanfest packages from London, Icelandair has now added packages for 4 and 5 nights, the 2 nights package remains but if you don't want to miss the last Fanfest day you'll need at least 4 nights. This also gives you some time to visit other sites in Iceland and Reykjavik of course.

'Min. yfir Heila Klst' means "minutes past the hour" and they are referring when the bus arrives. If the bus arrives 15-35-55 than that means it always arrives 15 minutes past, 35 minutes past and 55 minutes past. I would recommend ordering earlier than that to securing your Fanfest Access Pass. We generally pack these things ahead of the Fanfest so I'm not sure how long the ordering is available.
Originally by: General StarScream or is it a set limet on amount of passes sold? and a pre time you need to order befor,???
The Fanfest location can only take so many people, and that's where the limit is. As I said above, I would recommend that you order in advance and not on the very last day, since we can't guarantee that it will stay open. You will also need to order flight and hotel in advance so you might as well order the access pass then.

Ok, first of all you should check your email, including any spam and junk folders you may have. Then check with your bank to make sure the purchase went through and money was withdrawn. If it's not anywhere in your email folders and the money was used, send me an email containing the name and email you used to order and I'll get the confirmation email resent.

Plus for Eve players with families, missing out on Halloween with kids can be a real deal breaker in terms of attending. ;)

When did it start last year, I mean whats a resonable time to expect it starting on thursday? I sort of want to visit the blue lagoon and possibly have a look at the wicked halgrimgkirke (sorry to butcher the name, typing from (poor) memory)
It should start around noon, Thursday is mainly registration with various events, the really big stuff takes place on Friday and Saturday.

Wrangler, i'm flying out to iceland tomorrow, so having that schedule tonight would be good. Concord would hate it when i come over to the HQ to get it there.
We can't really put up an unfinished schedule, my best guess is that it'll come up at some point next week.
Also, there's no point in coming to the office since we won't give any tours.

Regular package im afraid shes more interested in the shopping, sauna, manicure things and tbh the booking was a little confusing as i expected a option to tick on the orginal fanfest ticket form didnt ralise till afterwards that is was a seperate link unfortunately.
But im sure she will enjoy the fanfest and the Iceland experience all the same :)
We might be able to exchange her Fanfest Pass for a Sisters pass if she's interested? It includes everyting in the link above and entry to the Fanfest area after 18.00.

You'll need to email me your name, the name of your spouse and the order number used to purchase the access passes. Since it's so close to the Fanfest I can't promise I'll be able to exchange the ticket, but there's no harm in at least trying.

The military has been holding me back and only found out that I could go this morning.
If so where do I buy it from as I can't find anything.
There's a list of flight and hotel packages here, since it's so late you should go there immediately and try book it. After that, you can go here and purchase the Fanfest access pass.

Trak: I'm sure we can locate a good sport bar for the match, but I think it's on the same time as Oveurs presentation on Saturday. So you might have to pick...
NereSky: You can at least take your wife to the Blue Lagoon on the official EVE Fanfest trip there. The price is cheaper than if you would organize it yourself. I highly recommend it.
Chribba: You don't have to worry about the dark, the lagoon is lid up and it's quite spectacular both when it's dark or during day. Right now I would prefer visiting the lagoon in the dark because I've seen northern lights in the last few days, and that's something that's worth photographing.

thanks for your speedy reply
is there a tourist place locally where i can endeavour to book my wife down for some excursions whilst we are there?
You can use Iceland Excursions, depending on where you're staying you can talk to the hotel reception about booking those tours and probably other things to do while in Iceland. But as Darth Beta said, she should take the Blue Lagoon trip with us on Thursday.

Registration starts at 11.00 GMT on Thursday. The full Fanfest schedule will be available once it's ready.
Originally by: static zero Argh. May I submit a humble suggestion for CCP not to announce sponsored events less than two weeks before Fanfest. I had already paid for an Tuesday evening trip to the Blue Lagoon through Icelandair. If I had known about the CCP-sponsored trip, I could have tried to cancel the other.
I haven't had any time to do any character portrait compositing either. I wish I'd known about it sooner.
Thanks for reading, -static zero
It was announced as soon as it was ready, but if you booked with Iceland Excursions you should be able to cancel it as long as it's done 24 hours ahead of the tour.

i assume you just mean a form of ID, so a passport would do too?
You'll need some form of picture ID like passport or similar, and if you got the pass from someone else (ie you didn't buy it directly from us in your name) you'll also need proof that the person sold or gave it to you.

all this is booked at the fanfest? will there be plenty of places? also who's driving??
You purchase the ticket at the Registration desk at Fanfest, I believe there will be enough places for everyone who wishes to go, since we will close down the Fanfest venue. I don't know who is driving, but it will be a professional bus driver.

When the last speech is over and everything has been discussed at the roundtables for the day, when the last lingering Fanfest attendees are preparing to leave after a day full of events and the Fanfest starts closing for the day, the night in Reykjavik is still young! We'd like to invite everyone to join us at the (in)famous Glaumbar for a pint of beer... or ten. If you bring your Fanfest access pass and show it at the bar you'll get a special discount on beer!
This offer is valid for the entire duration of the Fanfest, but we'd also like to invite all early arrivers to join us at Glaumbar on Wednesday evening, for a pre Fanfest beer. Glaumbar will open at 18.00 local time (GMT).
We will make the Fanfest brochure downloadable before Glaumbar opens, it contains a map of Reykjavik with Glaumbar pointed out. You can also ask the hotel reception or simply take a taxi to it.

Just an update here for those of you who arrived or are arriving today, you will get your Fanfest Access passes at the Fanfest venue on Thursday. We will open at 11.00 GMT (local time) and you will be able to register then. The access passes can not be obtained at your hotel, and it can not be obtained earlier!
While we are setting up today the Fanfest has not yet opened and you won't be able to register or access the Fanfest venue.

There appears to have been some confusion regarding Glaumbar. After the Fanfest closes on Thursday, Friday and Saturday you will be able to go there and get a discount for beer if you show them your Fanfest Access Pass.
However, we also invited everyone arriving early to come over to Glaumbar on Wednesday evening as a place to gather, but you won't be able to get any discount on beer until Thursday since you won't get your Fanfest Access Pass until Thursday.

So there wont be a big ending party like last year at the fanfest venue but in that bar?
Of course there will be the Party At The Top Of The WorldÖ on Saturday evening, you have to keep in mind that the Icelandic party evening ends somewhere around 07.00 the next day, so those who aren't tired after our party can head over to Glaumbar.
