Well 400km to Sthlm and 350km to Malm÷ so it's same same but different, the distance isn't realy the issue tho but more the extra cost to an allready fairly expensive trip.

It's a very informal thing, most big events wont start until friday. And if anyone can't make it Thursday because of a late flight, you will still be able to register on Friday.

Just a quick heads up for anyone from the uk thats flying from Heathrow on the thursday flight make sure u book the package deal for 3 nights otherwise u will miss the saturday as the flight is in the morning ......

so u end up having too book 3 nights too spend probably only a few hrs sleep in your room the saturday night too fly out on the sunday morning flight....

am not bothered lol but if u don't check your flight times carefully u would miss it on the booking system.....

I just wanted to confirm that, yes it is possible to see me at the FanFest 2007. Just today i booked my flight and hotel. last night i got my event pass.

I do how ever have a question for the locals or CCP staff to answer. My hotel is Radisson SAS 1919, it is supposed to be in the centre. Is it within walking distance to event location or do i need my shuttle to get there?

Actually, I remember that the no-smoking signs on the tables inside were replaced by ashtrays in the late afternoon or evening. Making sure that that doesn't happen will help a lot I guess.

And yes, I am a heavy smoker myself. As long as there is a spot where you can smoke without having to stand in the rain I'm happy

It might loose some of the intimacy we had at earlier years fanfest, but I guess this is the price we have to pay, when the fanfest is as popular as it is! Question about the "Sisters of Eve" package, and the "Fanfest" itself in part.

I've finally persuaded my wife that Iceland is a really cool place to visit, and that October/November is definately one of the cooler times to go. Infact, we'll be coming the weekend before so we can do some tourist stuff before fanfest starts, so if there are any pre-fanfest gatherings going on, would love to meet people in advance.

We will be bringing our 6 month old (will be 8 month old) noob along for the trip, but unfortunately he's a little young to go out exploring on his own yet, so will need to tag along with one of us.

Are either of these events (or portions of them) amenable to bringing infants? Ideally my wife wants to do Sisters of Eve thing, but would need to know what she can an can't bring our son along to, and for those things she can't, would I be able to take him with me to fanfest?

Won't necessarily be using a push-chair, as we got a pod-carrier as well.

Ideally need to know ASAP as want to book the tickets before they run out !!!

I purchased two tickets for the fanfest when they initially came out.

However due to real life issues I am now unable to attend. On a plus note however a friend is going and is willing to take my tickets.

Do I need to transfer them over to his name? Or is it ok just to give him the code I was issued when I bought the tickets and he can pick them up on the day?

aah thanks for the replies. Google already answered all my questions for me - i was really just complaining that the banks 'foreign currency person' seemed unable to be helpful to me (indeed they didnt even know what currency was used in Iceland - I had to tell them).

But its all good - the main thing was whether Euro could be exchanged at the airport for Krona. The bank recommended I get my travelers cheques in pounds or USD, but that incurs currency conversion fees for all the times I am in Europe!

It seems credit card is a good option with low fees for use overseas, so I might rely heavily on it for the Iceland portion of my holiday. Luckily I got the early-bird package and my flights/accomodation are already paid for :)

I do have a question about it. I sometimes play Eve but most often don't; whereas my hubby usually has his account going on along with another monthly game.

Posting as an alt's alt to avoid broadcasting my idiocy to the world but how do you buy a FanFest Pass online. I've looked all over the site and I can't find a single link to somewhere I can spend money on one. Are they all sold out? I'm about to drop some serious RL cash on plane tickets and I'm not doing so until I have the e-reciept for the fan-fest pass :)

I've got a question about 2008 Fanfest date. Yes, I know it s far away but some friends are trying to arrange their vacation time now so there aren't any issues. Someone said the Fanfest is usually the first weekend of Nov, well for 2008 the 1st of Nov is a Saturday. So will it fall on that weekend or the next one? :)

Plus for Eve players with families, missing out on Halloween with kids can be a real deal breaker in terms of attending. ;)

Regular package im afraid shes more interested in the shopping, sauna, manicure things and tbh the booking was a little confusing as i expected a option to tick on the orginal fanfest ticket form didnt ralise till afterwards that is was a seperate link unfortunately.

But im sure she will enjoy the fanfest and the Iceland experience all the same :)

Argh. May I submit a humble suggestion for CCP not to announce sponsored events less than two weeks before Fanfest. I had already paid for an Tuesday evening trip to the Blue Lagoon through Icelandair. If I had known about the CCP-sponsored trip, I could have tried to cancel the other.

I haven't had any time to do any character portrait compositing either. I wish I'd known about it sooner.
