Time For Changes!
Most will have noticed it already there was a CEO meeting on d2 ts yesterday. We discussed 3 main subjects. These subjects are specifically:

1. Language Barrier:

Communication is one of the oldest problems mankind has. I can't understand you, you can't understand me, oh my god, your slang is horrible! I think most of you did experience that several times already. Those who participate in Fleet operations can understand the stress, after a long day at work, to find the appropriate words in a foreign language. This increases the stress level of all participants which results in the fact that people are getting nervous and petulant, communication slows down and errors and disorder appear.

This is, even it is a big problem, absolutely normal. Even when you talk proper english it still demands more effort than using his mother language.

To adapt to those problems we will go a radical way. We hope that this will solve the problems at it's basis.

From now on all fleet operations will be split in 2 gangs. Each gang will use an own teamspeak channel plus it's own fleet commander. The important point in this is the language separation. One gang will be lead in german the other in english.

This should ensure a healthy communication and a rising effectivity plus less stress and more fun, which should be the most important.


2. Improved Communication and Flow of Information

Communication and Information are the keys which the judgement of issues are based on.

In the past few months the communication was not very good inside of d2, even worse, it was miserable. Informations were only spread with the Fleet Command Orders.

Why was it like that?
Well, sadly I have to say that one of the main reasons is paranoia. Metagaming increased alot the past year in Eve and it reached new planes.
Forums were hacked, Teamspeak servers attacked with dDOS and in front of all we had the invention of BoB, "Social Engineering". They are proud of getting people based on untruths into corporations and to lie to the people all day and try to generate the largest havoc possible within those.

There's not much we can do about it since the moral of some people seems to be very flexible as soon as they enter the anonymity of the internet.
Consequence of those actions were thinning out the informations, less writing and implementing of new security systems.

In the end it didn't contribute at all because it pushed hard on our players fun, because they were always left out in the blue and didn't know what was going on, why and when.

3. The Need of Talk

Lag is and was always a downside of eve. rising player numbers, bugs in the code and insufficient hardware made this to an almost daily problem in Eve. Larger Fleet Battles nowadays are being decided by "God Lag". Whomever has it on his side has a huge advantage which is hardly to equalize by the opposition. Most of you will agree that this is not a reason to play Eve.

At least the lag is calculable in eve. It always appears when 2 larger blobs are crushing the same system. Who jumps in first, so he gets hit by the lag? You all know it off your own experience. Still this is a point where we can start from. We will no longer create Blobs on a daily basis and relay on our luck or bein frustrated afterwards. Sometimes Blobs are necessary but not on a daily basis.

The direction of our fleets according to size will be changed. We will work more with medium sized gangs from now on. We will face the enemy under "normal" circumstances and try to reduce the lag on a bearable degree.

If the enemy thinks that he has to create a blob, we will just ignore it and look for enemies which are interested in a lagfree fight.


These 3 main subjects were discussed yesterday and become effective from now on.
