I am to go back to collage on the 7th of January. I will be started as sophomore from transfer credit.
Degree targeted is Bachelor of Communications and Networks, supposedly improving critically thinkers skills.
LOL ironically EVE removing learning skills makes me need them in real life.
There are a bunch of businesslike classes since the degree is part of the business collage. Maybe more ISK to be made once I am mathematically improving. :)
First class is a freshmen composition cause the internet made me stupid on grammatical spelling. LOL |

For the love of god switch majors to something useful before the college bubble bursts, and all the people with useless majors can't pay off debt or get a job because so many people have said silly useless degree.
To answer your question I suppose the business classes could help, math skillz.
Also not to be a ****, but college = school. collage = collection of smaller things to make a larger art project. |

I went back to school myself to study Chemistry a couple years ago, starting the second semester of Junior year here in a few weeks. I actually unsubbed but came back a couple weeks ago 'cause I didn't actually quit playing MMOs and never found anything else I could stick with and Crucible looked really good.
The main issue is balance, don't get so caught up in EvE you ignore your studies. It's always an issue people who don't play MMOs laugh at but that doesn't make it any less real.
EDIT:
I'll also agree with the above poster. There's two (main) reasons people go to school
1) To make more money 2) Because they're passionate about the subject they're studying
Communication fulfills neither of these. It's what people who can't stay sober long enough to study but still want to graduate major in. |

Better aim for a study that gets you no job but keep you interested long enough to get a degree. Than a study where you have no interest, and very possible, no talent (because these two things tend to go along). Remember to unsub eve and all other things that may keep you distracted from you goals :-) |

Change your major to something with "Engineering" in the title. Log into EVE to update skills, if you must. Study your ass off. Get good at math. Graduate. Get paid very well to do something that's hard. Buy PLEX with all your extra real-life cash after you finish paying off a house early and buying a nice car.
Don't get a goofy degree. It's a waste of time and money. You could learn most of that stuff by browsing Wikipedia for a few weeks.
http://money.cnn.com/2009/07/24/news/economy/highest_starting_salaries/index.htm
A somewhat old article, but still pretty true. Note the strange absence of the word "Communications" in the list. Math is hard, so people that suck at it will pay people that don't suck at it very well. I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs. |

I agree. Even a degree in Art History is better than nothing. Simply having a degree will open doors for you. |

But I'm not sure it's thanks to collage you get better at sex, I think that it's all *cough* research. "Have you had your morning coffee?" -> the Coffee Lovers Brewing Club is recruiting! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=363976#post363976 |

Not here in the UK.. No matter what your income everyone in an acceptable age range in the UK is guaranteed a loan from the government to pay of university tuition fees. On top of this you get maintenance loans, grants and bursaries:
-ú3200 Loan -ú3200 grant* -ú1200 bursaries And your tuition fees paid for you.
If you live in the London area add -ú1k to all of the above apart from tuition.
All of the above means you don't really have to work for 3-4 years..
The point I'm making is, here in the UK probably 70% of the students only go uni for the parties and so they do not have to work.. not sure if its like this for you Americans, I'm interested to know in a response please. |

And once you finish you buy a rope and hang yourself, since for avarage pay you would have to work about 10 years to pay it. Without any life. |

Paying it back isn't a problem either, you don't start paying it back until your earning at least -ú15k a year and the amount you pay back a month is variable from your income and automatically done through tax. You won't even notice it. |

There was a time when college was reserved for those of above average ability to tap their untapped potential. OP's lack of basic spelling and grammar is further evidence that modern "college" is nothing more than a government subsidized money printer for faculties and the politicians they support.
Tin foil hat not required for that one.
To be less rude though, good luck dude, I mean it. While I believe firmly it would be infinitely more valuable for you to grab a two year degree as an electrician or any other trade than a bachelors in communication I wish you the best all the same.
If anyone ever looks at you and says, "Hold my beer, watch this,"-á you're probably going to want to pay attention. |

I'm continually amazed by how many people go to college just to check the "I got a degree" box. College is a multi-thousand dollar investment (remember to count forgone wages) that should be strategically aligned with a career objective (or at least an explicit personal learning objective). If your goal is to improve your grammar and critical thinking - I would recommend frequent trips to your local library as a far better option. If your the type that doesn't like to read or study on your own initiative, then I would re-think whether your ready for college in the first place.
Also - my personal opinion is to go to a top school, get a very unique degree, or don't bother. I throw away every resume I receive with a "check-box" degree from a degree-factory school. Your education needs to make you stand out from the crowd - so make sure it does.
Good luck! |

Confirming you want an engineering degree if you are looking for real world iskies. I got a BS in mathematics and I'm payed at "social worker" level according to that article. I definitely enjoyed learning "pure math" but I do regret not getting an engineering degree even though I hated engineering classes (the teachers couldn't answer "why... ?"). |
