Sorry folks - I had to disable the character sheet for the time being. We're working to get it reenabled as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience while we sort this out!

Originally by: Amanda Wilkins Ok.... and I suppose that is also why character portrait swapping results in an error? Somehow there is something a bit not-so-happy-feely about adding in your credit card details several times to get "an error has occurred". Wonder if it has drawn the ISK... ehm... Euro from my account all the times I have tried.
Completely unrelated. The My Account and other parts of the website that are located at https://secure.eve-online.com/ are unrelated to MyEVE (which hosts the character sheet, forums, etc). They share none of the same code. I know nothing about the former, as I'm the guy who runs the latter.
I recommend opening a petition if your problems continue with the secure.eve-online.com site. The GMs probably know what's going on or have status information about it (or can find out).

Updated the ETA to Monday. I'm not going to take the risk of overloading TQ again right before the weekend.

Aaaargh
Edit: If myeve and tranquility are the same server (cluster) as someone above suggested, I'm getting a bag of grenades and heading to Iceland now.
I'm guessing it's got todo with the Corp name, alliance information gathering plus a bunch of other information behind the scenes which is tied to TQ. But it's a guess on my side ___

Just an update on the situation...
I'm making a few changes to the way the web site provides data to EVEMon and other clients. Instead of one huge XML file that contains all of the data which you can hit hourly, it's being broken down into two (for now, more later?) files with their own access times. One file is big and has all of the data but will have an access limit of 6-12 hours. The other file is really easy for us to generate and shows the current skill in training and can be accessed much more often.
I'm also implementing the ability for us to ramp up the traffic so we can ensure that we don't get a deluge as soon as the feature is enabled. For example, during the first hour 5% of users will find that their third party tools are functioning again. The next hour, 10% work. Over the following 24 hour period this will gradually ramp up to 100% at which point everybody will be working again.
This means that everybody who uses EVEMon and similar tools will likely have to upgrade as soon as they've released a new version compatible with the above changes. If you do not upgrade, you will find that the application will not be able to detect skill changes more often than once every 6-12 hours.
This is all scheduled to happen Monday. The programming changes from my side are just about done and I'm testing them now. I've also been working with the EVEMon team to make sure they have all of the information they need before the changes are made so they can try to stay ahead of the curve.
In case your eyes crossed reading the above...
We're still on track to have this functionality enabled again on Monday. You will probably have to update your third party tools to a new version in order to work optimally, though.

For pete's sake people, keep your pants on. My clock says it is 12:04. I'm very sorry that it has taken me 4 minutes to come to the forums to post. I will endeavor in the future to clone myself so that I can have one body posting on the forums at the same time the other clone is actually doing the work.
The HTML version of the character sheet (on the left under My Character) is now enabled for everybody. The XML feeds used by EVEMon and other projects are enabled, but are subject to ramping restrictions - i.e., right now very few people will find that they work. In an hour, 5% of you will see them working. Two hours, 10%. Et cetera.
Please let me know if you have any problems here. Keep in mind the ramping, so "it doesn't work" isn't really relevant for about 24 hours.

You're not one of the lucky few yet. See what I said about ramping up the traffic and give it some time.

Originally by: Elve Sorrow Well, i got to the "My Char" page, and i can click the XML link there and get the file. But EVEMon wont update. And i cannot view the file again. So i reckon what happened is, i used up my "once in 6-12 hrs" thingie when i checked if it was online yet.
Summary: Dont check if you're among the active people on the website, use EVEMon :P
Scratch what I said. I just redid the algorithm, it doesn't depend on what webserver you're on now. If it works once it will continue to work. If it doesn't, then you just have to wait until it does.
(For those who are technically inclined, you can calculate when it's going to work by taking the modulo of your characterID with 256, and then that's what "timeslice" you will be enabled in. Now look at the 24 hour period starting at noon today, divide that into 256 equal slices. Fairly straightforward now...)
If you didn't understand that paragraph, don't worry about it. Your XML functionality will be working sometime in the next 24 hours.
