Ladies and Gentlemen!
I am proud to announce the (relative) success of the first installment of my first performance art piece, "Minmatar Ineffectualness against the Amarr Establishment!"
At 10:00-ish today, I started my performance. I was surprised that so few noticed me firing my guns on the monument thingy next to the Emperor Family Academy. I proceeded to make introductions, and advertise my performance. Sadly, no one really responded except I did notice I was then being locked by... of all things... a GALLENTE ship!
A few minutes later, after a little cajoling, a couple more pilots joined in on the fun. My thanks to Hoggs for helping show the sturdiness of Amarrian construction! There was even some T2 weapons being fired upon the structure!
Well, soon I was running out of ammo as I had switched to another gun. That's about all that happened, but I find it interesting that I was nearly completely ignored by Loyalists!
Of course, they might have all been in bed.
But... my next performance might draw a bit more commotion. I'm not really sure when I'll start, but it should be later today. Please, join me in my ineffectualness! Bring out your biggest ship, fitted with as many civilian weapons as possible! Please, make a statement that the Amarr will remember!
This will, of course, be as peaceable an assembly as possible. This is ART of course, but if there is any bloodshed... well, all the better for the pretty colors of explosions!
The location will be Amarr VIII(Oris), Emperor Family Academy. The target? The Academic Monument outside the station.
I hope to see as many faces as possible!

Keep barking and scratching on the door of our warm, comfortable home you pathetic, mangey dogs. Keep clinging to and celebrating every claw mark as an accomplishment in a futile attempt to give your meaningless existances a purpose. Doors will be replaced and you'll still be outside in the cold, hungry, tired and hoarse.

I'm not surprised that the "loyalists" did not respond.
They are far too busy covering up their own shame in their failure of the defense of Amarr.
I doubt that would care about anything except saving their own skins.

Congratulations for shooting a rather unimpressed structure under CONCORD protection while in a corporation that *cannot* even be declared war upon.
You really showed us and we stand humilated with our heads hung down in shame.

Actually, I created my own corp before my second performance... I am fully wardecable now.
Though honestly, do you think I am worth it? I am only a lowly Minmatar.

Sounds interesting, I kind of wish I could attend. However I'm way out in the Sinq Laison region in Federation space at the moment, and I don't know quite how far the Amarr system is from me. In many ways this reminds me of grafittie which, while illegal, it can often be beautiful in it's own right....especially when it makes a statement.

It was a pleasure speaking with you after the performance, Andrea. Ignore the barking dogs, they're are a breed that never learns, no matter how many times you bring out the rolled-up newspaper.

This indeed was the message I was hoping to get across! An artist always wonders if the message they were trying to convey is actually understood, and though Star Fraction were not the intended recipients, I am glad Mister Ledoux brought the message to the ears of those who seem blinded by my (admittedly stunning) looks.
*winks*
I also find it quite interesting no one simply politely asked me to stop firing. Instead, I was told to go back to Minmatar space with my words. It was quite funny, really.
If I had been asked to stop, I would have.
Another lesson? Or simply ramblings? Or both?
Okay, you caught me. It's both.
Stay tuned for a shocking conclusion to this performance series later today!

I find your method of expression to be most fascinating. I look forward to hearing about your future performances, and hope to be able to be present for at least one of them.
Please, kindly continue to keep the public informed of your works. I know of so many artists who 'go underground' and become silent workers of their craft. However, other than surprise performances, I imagine this is detrimental to the messages that performance art would deliver to the masses. I hope I am correct in this assumption.
I look forward to hearing more about your work. |

I'll be contacting you soon, Andrea Kellis. I think I might have a few ideas on medium and media that might prove to be interesting and accessable to the public.
And no, I am not just saying that just to get your contact information.. but if I was could you blame me? -----------------------------------

I find this so called 'art' nothing more then common vandalism.
The monument is much more valuable as object of study and cultural history then as a random piece for target practice.
I ask you seize this pointless performance art as it has lost every and all meaning when you asked all to participate in it. After all you can't quite call it "Minmatar Ineffectualness" in members of all races are participating in it.
Have a nice day. _________

Is this what they call 'art' these days?
*Davlos sighs
Some random Bloodveil lunatic whose name I couldn't remember tried that exactly twenty-five days ago, by apparently ****ing on it with 'the blood of countless innocents'. He was causing plenty of noise and needless to say that I had to put him down - twice. Once assisted by a passerby capsuleer unhappy with the noise, and another by my own hand.
Do whatever you what. Just don't give me any more headaches.

I would suggest that this is an excellent display.
No matter how many shots were fired by this heathen, the Monument remained utterly unscathed.
It is an excellent illustration of exactly how effective the enemies of Amarr will be in their efforts, no matter how many shots they waste.

The Empire will endure, Amarr will remain and the The Monument will stand for ever.
But times are changing Gaven. The ways of the Sani Sabik has taken root and soon, very soon it begin to spread throughout the regions.
Andrea, thank you for the encore performance, perhaps I can get a holoreel out to show Revan Neferis? I am certain that she would enjoy it as much as I.

Edited by: Andrea Kellis on 20/04/2007 06:07:40 Edited by: Andrea Kellis on 20/04/2007 06:06:48 Regarding the Occupation of the Empire:
Dear Amarr,
This is not the end of the Empire. This is not the end of anything, really. The "occupation" of Amarr, in time, will pass. Will you weather this storm, or create your own? Will you stand for your ideals at your own risk, or will you bend to the will of those who wish just that, to bend you?
From what I saw, you will look at those around you and say, "Heathens". You will call us mangy dogs, barbarians. You will say that I am here because I wish to bask in your glory. You will grind your teeth and say, "she is not worth the effort."
The "chosen people" allowed an outsider to sit outside of a center of learning, and desecrate a monument to their ideals. Allowed her to speak with their enemies, without considering her a threat.
Hear this... ideals, thoughts, words... these are true power. But without action, without drive, these are nothing. I have seen, even in this thread, the words "Amarr Victor". Are these words yours, or the words of others? Do you say them with conviction, or with forced fanaticism?
This performance was to show you, Amarr, this point. Conviction is grand, but one must follow through.
Of course, you will most likely reply, "you are an outsider, and your views are worthless". Ask yourself this; if they are so worthless, why are you reading? Why are you here? What will you do to prove these worthless words wrong?
Dear Minmatar,
I do not know the majority of my peoples' views on the Sani Sabik, Jericho Fraction, or the "occupation" of Amarr. But here is something to consider.
How did our people rise against the Amarr? What conditions were present that made it possible for us to rise out from under the oppressive fist that was slavery? There is a situation in Amarr Prime that, while not outwardly seeming such, has the potential to change the course of history.
I was but one woman, making a statement. I made that statement, and walked away from it. What if there were ten people making a similar statement? How about 100? Why not 1000?
This is the true intent of my performance. More will take place, hopefully with more impact.
To all who thought me just a "headache"?
I have just begun. Even if you silence me, you will never silence what is to come. Change is the only constant in life. Prepare, adapt, or stand aside.

I don't mind performance art. I really don't. In fact, you shall find me a small-time patron of a group or two if you could care to look around.
As long as you don't jam up my local comms channel with loud and meaningless proclamations of "GOD IS DEAD!!!" and "Look at me I'm such a great Sani Sabik wannabe cultist! Ia ia Sani Sabik fhtagn", or whatever sort of gobbledy****, anyone is free to do whatever they like. ---------------

*nods in agreement with Davlos*
I am sorry a lot of my talk was in local, but I had not really prepared enough ahead of time to suggest a comms channel. I also agree that "God is Dead" and "I'm a Sani Sabik cultist" stuff is a bit childish. I shall say this; I am not a Sani Sabik cultist by any stretch of the imagination, and I do not berade the faith of Amarr. I simply wish to bring the best out of people, and honestly some people's "best" is another's "worst".
Art should have a purpose, mine is to bring attention to weaknesses in order to build strengths.
I used the "headache" reference not really intending it for you, and I apologize for the confusion.
So, in the future, I shall be in a private comms channel during performances, "Beautiful Irony". I shall announce the beginning and end of my performances in local channels, but that will be it. That way those who wish to partake may do so without disrupting those whom the performance is not intended for.
But be advised, some of my performances will require certain open communication, so I still reserve the right to use local channels. My suggestion would be to watch for my announcements on locations of performances... that way you are at least prepared.
