Hi everyone,
For those who don't know me, I ran for CSM11 and thanks to the wonderful support of all you capsuleers wa sthe most voted for candidate (in terms of ballot appearances) and came overall third in the selection process after MrHyde and Aryth. I pulled out of the running after voting had ended last year due to poor health that I spent the following 6 months dealing with, because I didn't want to be on the CSM if I could not commit to it fully. I will not be running again this year (though I have not ruled out ever running again) as partly due to that reason I have not been as involved in the wider state of the game as I would like to keep my knowledge suffieciently up to date to be a valuable member of the CSM, and I have no intention of applying to a position knowing I cannot commit myself too fully.
That said, I still care immensely about the CSM and have been overjoyed with how well CSM11 have done and want to support it and it's visibility moving into the transition phase from CSM11 to CSM12. Mid-2016 I started a CSM podcast in an effort to increase visbilty and communication betwene the sitting CSM and the communnity, however it faded into the background as I was still recovering from my health issues and was generally struggling to manage all the projects I wanted to do. Well before this I did a long-form interview with James Arget for CSM8 in an attempt to go more in depth with a candidate than the usual 20-minute quickfire or group affair that other groups tend to do when interviewing the CSM.
As we move into the final third of CSM11's term and the transition to CSM12, I intend to do as many interviews as is reasonable in the style of my James Arget one, modelled on James Lipton's inside the Actors studio to get a deeper understanding of the candidates who are willing to talk to me. I am not going to commit to attempting to interview every candidate, and I do not expect every candidate to necessarily want to do such an interview, but I hope there will be a few. Further, I am currently working behind the scenes to potentially start the CSM podcast up again, with a goal to make it a semi-regular show, rotating through groups of sitting CSM members to assist in CSM-player communication and CSM visibility.
