"This week in EVE" is a weekly overview of EVE Online related news and events and shows what is going on in EVE Online. The focus of this overview is on official news from CCP: For example, dev blogs and important forum posts by CCP developers, the ever evolving background story and upcoming events. The previous weekly overview can be found here.
The current "This week in EVE" gives an overview of the previous week from January 21 to 27

CSM Summit Live Streams The CSM 11 will have its second summit of the term at the CCP HQ in Reykjavik from Jan 30 to Feb 2. During this summit, the CSM will discuss a huge amount of topics, current issues, plans and game design ideas with CCP developers. To keep you up to date with these discussions and to get you the latest info, we will provide detailed meeting minutes from the summit (check out previous meeting minutes!). Additionally, we will have daily live video recaps on our EVE Online Facebook page!
February release Improvements to Upwell strutures Additionally to the already announced improvements to Upwell structures (insurance of ships etc.), CCP Lebowski mentioned a few more features that will get added. Those features are scheduled for the February release.
Issues and workarounds Station environment missing? The station environment feature has been removed and is not available any longer. We have removed the feature because of its implementation, which rendered a frame of the hangar scene and then replaced the hangar view with that frame. This required a fair amount of ongoing maintenance to keep working, and yet was used by a very small percentage of players. Or in other words, we continuously spent a sizable amount of dev time on this feature while only very few people actually used it.
Loud explosions: fixed! We have received reports that, after the latest release, explosions in the game have been very loud and inconsistent in length no matter my view distance from the explosion. While the explosions and have been tested, this bug has slipped through the net. Fortunately, due to your reports, we were able to fix this issue on January 24.
Bug reports? Support tickets? What is that good for?! CCP Darwin gives some excellent information about bug reports, bug reporting and support tickets. When submitted in-game, bug reports (not support tickets) provide the QA team and developers with a detailed package of technical information about your client's state in addition to the information you enter in the report. You can also can submit a report via bugs.eveonline.com, but doing so this way will not automatically include the additional logging and system information from your client. You can manually add your client's logs yourself. Bug reports are not a way to get personal assistance with a problem! They are a tool to inform our team about issues in the game. If you need personal assistance, please file a support ticket to your customer support staff!
