Hello I recently set quite a long training skill (10 days+). I had +4 implants in all my attribute slots then I was inadvertenly podded .. Now Is it true that if I dont change my training skill that I will still train the skill as though I had my +4's in ?
Can anyone can confirm this yay or nay and has it changed since last patch ?

This is true, if you do not "cancel" or change skill, it will train with the same rate as if you still had the implants.

I think this crosses the line into exploiting a bug.

If its a bug it should be fixed, I am not saying your wrong, but perhaps its suppose to work like that?
Simple solution is when a clone is activated is to stop all skil training, just like when you have to plugin an implant.

Yes and no, it's not like people are going to pod themselves on purpose to make use of this bug but it is still a bug. I don't think CCP is going to make any waves about people using this nor take the trouble of fixing it.
Just enjoy the couple of days of leeway you get before you need to replace your implants.

Simple enough to fix, just have current training stop when a medical clone is activated. Then the training has to be restarted and cannot benefit from non-existant implants.

well if its an expliot we all have to cancel training or train a new skill when we get podded... now who would do this?... itsn ot like its unfair for other people. and if its such a big deal, it is easy to fix, and i dont think ccp would do anything about you not restarting your skill when dieing. __________________________ i will get a new sig soon. |

Exactly
Till its fix, the it can't really be abused, considering one would need to know it actually happens. To abuse a bug, that is not a normal function of the game, that you go out of your way to abuse is not right.
The fact you don't change a skill after you die, and you actually keep the same training time, is just a side-effect as far as I am concerened.

Given that the maximum this bug is ever going to be exploitable for is about 60 days then its no big deal.
What are the chances of the person you just podded having started a really long skill and having the expensive implants in. Not very high I'm sure you'll agree. Even if this were the case it does mean they have to make a choice between continuing the long skill or putting that 10hr skill they really want on while they go out to work.
Long and short of it yes its a bug. No its not a bug the devs need to prioritise. They have much more important bugs to fix first. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Not an exploit, there is no advantage gained, and you don't have to do anything for it to happen, everyone gets it. This is normal and how the game works. ______________________________________ Natural Selection Developer

It's hardly an exploit if you lose (potentially) a rack of +5 implants, with the only plus being you don't notice the effects until your current skill finishes (either due to the timer expiring or you changing skill).
The blow is softened, sure, but you gain nothing.

Everyone relax, It isn't a bug because it doesn't work. One of my 0.0 alts got podded with a set of +2 implants in and it jumped the training time up by about a day due to the loss.
Sorry guys - it's a myth...

It's not a myth because it's how things used to work. It is possible that it has been fixed recently so that it no longer works. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |

Dunno if your lying or you had some kind of glitch but I can confirm that it still works.

Same here, works. Maybe it's not a bug, but rather a "feature"? (small compensation for losing your implants and gives you time to sort out new ones)

As far as i know that if the skill finishes, it will wait a while at 0 seconds till it is actually finished. So in the end nothing is gained considering lost implants.

Yup, I remember this was confirmed by a dev a while ago on this subject.
Your character sheet will show (say) 2 days left on the training before and after podding. When that ends, the timer will sit at 0 seconds for as long as it takes to catch up with what it should actually have taken.
So it looks like you benefit, but you don't really.

Dang....and I was gonna start flying with my +7 implants so I could take advantage of this "exploit". Back to the +2's I guess.
