Ok so here i was, offlining and unachoring an intensive refining array. it had finished unanchoring and i was busy doing something else at that verry moment.
So i was done and looked at where the unanchored refinery should be and it was gone...
first thing i thought was some corp member had scooped it already, but he said no.
then i look arround...
and there it was....going away from the pos...moving at about 400 meters a second...it left the shields...it didnt stop.
so i got in a shuttle (best thing i could find that fast) and went into persuit.
i wasnt going fast and catching up to it was difficult, we wanted to get close, get a webber on it or something and make a hauler scoop it. (note the refinery and my in persuit shuttle were at 450+ kilometers away fromt the pos).
i petitioned it and a GM appeard, he popped the refinery and ofcourse gave a new one.

I've seen that happen over a year ago with 2 small laser batteries.
Webs didnt activate on them so they dont work for slowing down such things.
We had haulers and interceptors warping around trying to either bump it back toward the moon or scoop it. Eventually we did manage to scoop both guns but i think they had passed over 1000km from thier original point by the time we caught them.

So the other day, I switched on my universal tractor beam II and start pulling this unanchored refinery towards me at 400m/s, and some GM turns up blows it up and ruins my day...I mean WTF!?!?! :)

tbh should have let it keep going into space!
it would have increased speed and after 2 years someone could have posted on the forums that their Titan got pwned by a intense refining array at high speed bumping them XX jumps into an enemy system where 600 dreads were just playing or something...
i bet 10 isk that would be possible!

The refinery was pinned in between 2 pos structures (hangers), neither me or my corp mate were near the refinery when it finished unanchoring.
it must have heard us chat in local, and knowing what we were going to do with it, got scared and did a startrek.

hehe, you can be asured that when a structure is down to 1 minute in unachoring im there looking at it, ready right click and scoop, before it has a change to escape me ;)

Thats an old bug..same thing happened to me about a year or 2 ago...unanchored a refinery and the damn thing ran off ... same thing will happen with a ship if you try to dock it in a ship maintance array and it doesnt go in..it will just take off running...we had to probe the damn ship out to find it

I can understand a ship taking off, seen that myself a couple of times, since the ship already has motion when it comes out of the hanger. but an unanchored pos structure...

same thing happened in late february when i was tearing down my pos next door to c3. one turret took off and i tried logging to get it back. then i unanchored the second to see if it was repeatable and sure enough, off she went.
a petition ultimately got them back.. took a while, but they refunded them to where i was across the galaxy instead of in c3, which had to be evacuated.. replicators took over.

Actually, it sounds like a great counter for POS bowling. You see that Avatar warping toward you, you just unanchor a random structure and it slams headlong into the oncoming titan, bouncing it randomly off course...

Maybe it got a rare moon mineral and was going to park it in a SS before the GM blow'zd him up. Let that be a lesson to any other POS equipment that tries to hide isk in its pants and run...
