I thought it was interesting for others to read about a big loss, and at the same time knew others would be happy I lost a expensive ship. I'm used to the flamers jumping in on anything I post, it's part and parcel of being a pirate in game. Some flamers actually hunt me down in any thread I post in, these guys have mutated into virtual stalkers (cough Karl cough) It's all fun at end of day... and like you said, you read and posted here. It's nothing special. They don't post about it. Why is tiller's loss different? My feeling is he looks bad here. He's been trying to foster this elite pirate image when in fact he's just not that good. Up against decent players he dies like everybody else. Hence he's not special. Anything that makes him look silly needs to be squashed quick. So..... He dies and knows he looks bad. He is afraid the folks that killed him will make a post. He figures to do a preemptive strike with a spin job. Fan boys jump in to help out. Presto, reputation saved. Except I ain't buying it. RA popped him like he was some sort of bug and kept on going. He was just one more show-off pirate that got in their way. Nothing special. Bang, dead, move on. And that's the reality of this particular gank. Not that tiller is cool because he put his Rattlesnake in danger (lots of players do that) but that he made dumb mistakes and lost his ship, which is not cool at all.

I am the first to admit, argument is not necessarily about the person arguing it, but I like looking people in the eye. Not posting on your main smacks of dishonesty, cowardece, and obfuscation.
