So, what happens when you take on the following fleet composition:
Us/Them 0 / 3 BS 2 / 4 t2 BC 3 / 2 BC 1 / 5 t2 cruiser and some smaller ships?
The short answer: a helluva fight.
The longer answer?
The fundamental problem with attacking D4KU is the warp. From one side of the system to the other is over 100 AU, so even if your enemy on the Hophib gate is aggressing right up to the moment you jump in, they are only going to have 15 seconds of their aggression timer left by the time you get there. But we're AXE, dammit, and we're not about to back down from a fight. The next jump, unlike many other 0.0-gateway systems, is low-sec, so we were prepared to pursue our quarry if needed.
A single, brave soul was ordered to jump his interdictor into system and attempt to acquire aggression. He performed flawlessly, forcing Dizeit Kour'in in his Raven to aggress, who we then ever-so-gently dispatched back to his friendly local cloning bay. The rest of the enemy fleet, seeing our slight numerical advantage (19 v 17) had disengaged in time and had jumped through. We began preparations to enter low-sec, waiting on our aggression timers, reloading ammo, looting, etc.
Unfortunately for us, MM was not taking this sitting down. With valor and pluck, they had noticed our emphasis on lighter forces, and aimed to punish us for our choices. Quickly reforming in Hophib, they assembled on the gate and began to jump back through into us.
Couger malthas was amongst the first to decloak, and his Sleipnir was called primary, knowing the danger a high-alpha-strike command ship posed to a force generally composed of smaller ships. Our determination paid off, and he expired.
Earlier battles had reinforced the possibility that Travling was one of their FC's, so that, combined with his presence on the field in one of the two remaining battleships, made him the next primary. However, two Rooks, piloted by Bozl1n and Mandj, were playing havoc with our ability to take him out. Orders were issued to take out the Rooks or force them to retreat off the field; as it turned out, neither of them were MWD-fit, so we were able to kill them both almost simultaneously with finishing off Travling with our drones and shorter-range ships.
Faquarl was the next person to receive the honor of a primary designation, as things were looking tough for us, and his Heretic was an unwelcome addition to the field if we needed to escape.
Vaughn'x's Astarte was called primary just as we were surprised by the latest addition to the field. Ollobrains--yes, he of infamy and all-too-recent presence in an allied alliance--appeared on the gate in a shuttle. Needless to say, the current primary be damned, this man had to die. His pod was sent to wherever it is pods go when they make up stupid ****.
With Vaughn'x heading into structure, the tank on my trusty Vulture finally succumbed to the tender ministrations of two Drakes, two Absolutions, a recently-jumped-in Ishtar, and the dratted Astarte of Vaughn'x, and, moments later, my pod was sent home in the most-direct way possible. She had held up well, and I think could have made it if we'd popped Vaughn'x, but we may never know.
Final losses on our side were near-complete, and there is not a smidgen of doubt in my mind that--especially given their control of the field, and thus looting rights--MM came out on top of this one, isk-wise. But I humbly submit that any battle in which Ollobrains died is a victory for whoever laid the final blow on him. And by that measure, we came away winners.
Good fight, Morsus Mihi. See you again soon.

Yes, I know it's a battle report about a fight you probably don't care about. I pay my $15/mo., and I like to tell people about my fights, especially the really-fun ones. Deal with it.
Yes, I know it involves BoB-allied forces vs. non-BoB-allied forces. If anyone cheated, hacked, or kissed your sister without your explicit permission, petition it, don't post here. The fight was clean and lag-free.
Please move along now if you were just going to post something stupid in reference to either of the above.

Sounds nice enough, but your report is confusing. You report 19 (you) vs 17 (them) but in the list on top there is 6 (you) vs 14 (them) and the addition 'and some smaller ships'.
A bit more clarity in forces and losses on both sides would be helpful to understand what happened. signature removed - please contact us to find out why (include the URL of your sig) - Jacques([email protected]) |

BURRRN!
I wouldn't say we backed down. We stuck the conflict out for a long while, and I'd say the eventual relocation saved the alliance from a boredom-mutiny/collapse.
This has all been discussed/churned over a thousand times previously. but thanks for the constructive input as usual |

We fought for almost half a year to kill -A- and the corps that comprised it. Having been involved in alliance politics for many years at that point, we had a large, extensive list of blues. Of those, precisely three ever showed up to help us out.
In thanks, we decided to give all of Eve a little coal in their stocking, in the form of -A- making 2b/day from the Z-N9IP complex and 1.5b/day from the uncontested E3-SDZ one. And, sure enough, -A- now has a Titan and a mommy or two. If you were blue to us and didn't come help us--Merry Christmas.
Nice trolling, though.

Fair enough.
Losses/Fielded for us: 2/2 Elite Destroyers, 4/4 Frigates, 2/2 Elite Battlecruisers, 1/2 Elite Cruisers, 4/5 Elite Frigates, 1/2 Cruisers, 1/3 Battlecruisers, 2 pods
Losses/Fielded for enemies: 2/3 Battleships, 2/5 Elite Cruisers, 1/4 Elite Battlecruisers, 1/1 Elite Destroyer, 1/1 Shuttle, 2 pods

does this mean im safe flying my indies through.
ohh just a bit from our side cougar was actually leading that ingagment until he died then yes i started yelling primary's ect had to come back in my pod to call u primary pilk but me a fc dunno what u mean.
one more thing how cam somebody (dog2314) disengage long enough to jump through a gate and not get into trouble. I mean if anybody on my end did that i would kill them myself . And yes we where pew pewing and he got to structure and then he jumped through the gate, which means he disengaged what at least 30 secs before we started shooting him.
and numbers on our boards conflict convo me to sort this out we have 2 rook losses 2 bs losses and a slep this is what MM loss
u guys lost slep, vulture, ishtar, sabre, flycatcher, 1 teir 2 bc, 2 assult frigs, 1 ceptor, 1 cruiser, 4 frigs.

60 seconds, actually. If you're primary, and you obviously can't tank it, timing your deaggression with enough precision to jump through the gate as you're entering structure is actually pretty laudable, in my book.

You're missing Faquarl's Heretic loss, then. And someone didn't post their kill of one of our ceptors (the two we lost were Ti'Niaria's Malediction and Surfinal's Raptor).
I don't understand why you are stating this in an accusatory manner; by comparison with your list, we posted all of your mails of both types, and you guys neglected to post one killmail and one lossmail.

I logged in, asked in corp chat what was going on, heard that we were about to engage in D4. Gang was 5 jumps from me, so I hopped in the fastest thing I had handy (craptor) and hightailed it for the fleet. Listening on TS, heard primaries being called and going down.
Silently prayed I'd get there in time to shoot something.
Two jumps into my journey ran into our bud "ollobrains," but seeing as he was headed the same way I was figured he'd land in a dictor bubble and get deservedly popped.
Passed a friendly pod when I jumped into D4K. Then came tha bad part. That damn 160AU warp. So, I showed up to the fight with like 20% cap. Joy. Followed primaries, started scramming and shooting, and then MM decided to start killing our little ships .
Six jumps in a raptor, six jumps back in a pod, two minutes of fun. Oh, and ollobrains died before I did :)

First -
Sounds like fun Pilk. To bad I am in this damn place called Disney World with some stupid mouse or I would have loved to die in it.
Second -
We fought -a- longer than pretty much anyone, and considering we are one of the alliances that helped form -A- do to the battles in catch with various corps I would have to say we did okay.
Third -
To that -A- pilot that stated the facts, appriciate that. Its funny to see when Axe posts its more GF's and very little smack talk. We are about the fun and pew pew. Now that Axe isn't tied down we get plenty of pew pew per this battle report and the many before it and the many to come later.
Good Job all, sounds like we had fun, lost a few ships, and killed a few ships.
