Edited by: Spincy on 27/04/2007 07:09:33 I'm having a problem with AUTOPILOT'S (Stupid warp). I think it should automaticaly warp to the Star Gates WIthin 0 meters. The Journey Will be Much Faster. If it's posibble in Gameplay menu should Be an option switching on (autopilot's Warp within 0 meters).
Thank You

Maybe improving this should be skill based or perhaps even implant based??

No, it is good as it is. if you want to travel faster, just jump manually. dont see the problem.
if you are too lazy to jump to zero by hand, you can wait for your ship to travel those few km ------- sorry for any misspelling or type errors (actualy i am dyslectic... so i wont apologise) |

I'm lazy and use autopilot, I also use autopilot while cooking or stuff like that, if the autopilot was warping to 0, it would be... too fast! (joke)
The 15 km autopilot is something to reward players being in front of their computer and not those that play afk (as you can much do if you play with the market, go buy, set autopilot, do something else, come back and sell the goods with a great margin!).
If you're just travelling, buy an atron/executionner/slasher/condor and fit it with overdrive injectors, it will reach the gate in a very short time. If you want to haul goods and make fast profit by afk playing, it will always take more time than players who do not play afk. -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast ! No. No warp to 0km for autopilot. You want to travel quicker? Then sit at your damn PC and use warp to 0km. You ALREADY have a choice. ---
I don't mind you disagreeing with me. Just don't say I don't have the SKILLS to comment. |

I guess u don't knwo why we got wtz at all. It is here only to remove lag from instas, not to make your travels faster. -- Jup another alt post, buy me a GTC so i can post with my main again :P |

WTZ was a compromise. I miss the old 15 run to the gate : (
WTZ Autopilot would make lowsec travel meaningless.

A bit bluntly put, but I'd still agree with you there.

Edited by: Telal Mortis on 28/04/2007 15:31:27 I agree witht he majority that WTZ autopilot isn't necessary. I haven't used autopilot for anything except directions in months. I will admit that at first the concept of manual jumping felt tedious but setting my default warp to range to 0 and adding gates to my overview so that they would be highlight by the plotted course made the whole manual travel thing almost second nature within a week or 2.
In practice it's not all that much different than manually punching yer AB or MWD during autopilot runs to close the 15km distance faster.
Personal opinion aside there's a glaring technical issue with the concept itself right off the bat. For one thing saying it would make a journey faster isn't looking at the whole picture. Take jita for example, there has been more than one occasion during peak hours where I've been stuck in a ridiculously long jump queue due to the shear amount of traffic that goes in and out of that system on a daily basis.
If they were to allow AP to use WTZ (even if it were an optional setting since I believe far more people would elect to use it than not) sooner or later CCP would be forced to slap permanant 24/7 jump queues through out the bulk of empire space simply to prevent constant node/cluster crashes caused by a blob of people all attempting to jump into or out of a system simultaeneously through one gate.
Dunno bout you but I'd rather not be forced to wait in line everywhere I went just to save a few lazy people from having to do some manual clicking.

As an aside note, the 15 clic range allows most ships to recharge their caps for the next jump in the journey.
Thats always struck me as one reason, maybe not so much now I got my skills up...
