Just an interesting discussion topic, though probably the fast answer is "No".
Would a day of peace be possible in the EVE universe, excluding the possibility of forced peace(a change in game mechanics).
A day of peace would be, in a nutshell, no aggression by anyone towards anyone. No shooting, a sort of a "carebear" day(just for you pirates out there )
It would be interesting to see, sorta like a "field day" for the new players to go out and have fun anywhere, go visit places like the EVE gate, see what all the fuss about 0.0 is and all those wonderufl things you hear about in the holoreels back at the academy.
So, i know that the probable answer is "No, there's always someone who would ruin this." or "Well, this is just a dumb idea.", but think out of the box for a while

In the current states of the game ? No, because war is what make eve runs, it's the only real isk sink if you think about it.
If they turned eve into second life, maybe, until then, no.
Limited ressources and territories and growing player base = war.

Absolutly impossible. Just thinking about it gives me the creeps. I see freighters ... in hostile alliance space ... and huge loads of valuable highends moved past crying pirates.

I'd prefere an "ignore all blue standings" day where everyone is only allowed to fly the lowest tier T1 frigates! -

Interesting point, kinda counter to the day of peace, a day of war where everything goes
Heck, even blow up the jita 4-4 station if you got the crew. Concord day off

In my view, the whole point of 0.0 is that you can kill people without CONCORD being a bunch of spoilsports (who have such bizarre and intricate rules that I'm finding life much easier in 0.0).
So if you want to see what the 0.0 fuss is about, come to Pure Blind! (Probably safest to do it as a student in one of our classes, tho.)

Yes, I that's a valid point. Alliances in EVE would make it their logistic day. If there was a day of peace once per months, a lot of freighter OPs would get scheduled to that day, bring poses and pos fuel in, move stuff out that they don't want to lose and such things.
Interesting idea, but the eve reality is that alliances won't stop their pvp/war relevant activities for something like a 'day of peace' or 'day of the newbie.' ___________ Muuuhhh !!! |

This has happened before... anyone remember the day when eve became bugged after DT and no weapons would activate. I was in 0.0 at the time and just remember inties bumping off of me and red and blue alike becoming friends and laughing in local.... kinda like the day in WW1 (or II cant remember) when Germany and England ceased fire and played football.

Good day to take my Helios into enemy territory and scan down some nice POSs to put on the list of future targets.
God I love 0.0
Also...being I am below -9 but above -10, I'd play nice just long enough for plenty of mission wh*ring carebears to bring all their nice faction fitted t2 into 0.0 for the first time, than have every choke point bubbled up to DT.

one hour of peace
and have it scheduled so that players from all over the world can benefit and on sunday so working people can be there too
im sure one hour would work - just get all the big alliances to enforce it its no that long of a time
restrictions would apply to going through alliance space but i am sure 1 jump in with a newb ship / alt would not ruin anyones plans ?
1 day is not possible

No, not if i am online on that day. Edit: And i think that is quite balanced. If i want to have my everyone shoots everything and everyone day, those station sitters are also going to ruin it.

How about a pwnzors day. Concord takes the day off, everything is destroyable, then we reset everything back 24 hours the next day for enforced peace day.
1 day of OMGBBQPWNAGE where your not losing your crap. And 1 day of lalalala lets go sightseeing. |

Any moment of peace , be it one day , one hour , one minute or one second , is pure blasphemy. We pirates will never let this happen.
Combat occurs everywhere and all the time , it's the order of things. Every second there is a ship being shot , or a pod being splattered. It shall not be interrupted.

what i mean by enforce is - only all your stupid pirates would be shot
so it would not be a day of peace but more like a day of cleaning out the trash

You mean like a "down time" where no one can activate any weapons, or indeed log in.
We have that every day.
