All weapon systems are covered by the Empire marauders (projectiles, missiles, hybrid, laser) except for drones. It would be odd and unbalanced for there to be another empire marauder that had good drone bonuses, so can we have a faction one?
It could be an upgraded Nestor (SOE) or an upgraded Rattlesnake (Guristas) and require both relevant battleship skills at 5. Also the normal marauder skills.
Is there any reason this could not be a thing? I, and a couple others I have talk to about the idea, think it would be awesome. Maybe that makes us blind to a reason it could not become a thing. |

As I understand it, marauders are already more powerful then the Rattlesnake. I would be happy with a Faction Marauder with a Nestor like haul too though. |

Not specifically more powerful but more flexible would work fine for me.
My thoughts would be add bastion ability, increase the drones bay to allow for more flexibility in your drones load and then adjust bonuses downward as needed to prevent it being OP. Further I would suggest this is based on the Domi hull not the rattle.

In all seriousness, the Rattlesnake should probably lose a launcher slot in the next balancing pass so that it ends up with a pair of utility highs.

Yes, the Machariel can be effective with either a shield or armor tank in PvE (I think for PvP it's better-suited with an armor setup, though).

Yes, but damage is not the Marauder's forte - tanking is.

we don't need faction t2 ships...than again screw it, factions for every ship for the blowing up competitions and mass farming in null sec. ets make things even more powerful to flood empire with as marauders already out do the other ships, lets out do marauders too

Just for the sake of discussion... Let's say either a Faction Rogue Drone Battleship or T2 Drone Marauder was released. Do we then run into a similar problem that we had with the Ishtar in that it becomes the new ratting meta or fleet doctrine?

If CCP were to start releasing non-AT faction T2 ships, I suspect that they'd start with something smaller than a marauder.

It would depend on what you have to back you up. Anchoring yourself in space only really looks like a good idea to people who have response fleet on stand by. You are talking about white a few ticks lost if you lose your billion isk anchored isktar... |
