No, because if there were, it wouldn't be secure.

there are alot of secure containers that have been chilling in empire for months, i know of a few that have been there for years. there should be a hacking module (kinda like the one already in existence) that takes forever to open this things and causes agro just like other cans. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CEO Battlefodder inc Death is only the begining ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Why ?
Those secure containers were put there by players for a reason, in fact to keep stuff from being stolen ...
If they really bug you that much, you could try shooting at them ... but be aware that Concord will come to spank you if you do that.
In short, Secure Containers are a part of the game (and a quite vital one if you're alone and want to mine/restock ammo far from a friendly station), and hacking them would be totally against their very point.

I don't see how hacking could be a problem. People just would need to use half a brain and actually anchor them in a safespot.

I hate all the advertising ones around gates and stations, they are ingame spam and no more.

That would still nullify the point of "SECURE" containers ... and safe spots are not safe since the Probes came to the game, it's almost too easy to find one with those ... and would be even more easy with scannable items like Secure Containers anchored at a "safe" spot ...

I still think SC still should be time limited, at belts. They F* up my view. When I use them I take them down a day or week or shortly after. Thats when I did use them... not anymore
Dynamic Endeavors is now Recuiting.!!

You can't scan secure containers anymore. They don't show up on the directional scanner and you can't probe them. They're perfectly fine to leave at safe spots and indeed our corp encourages this so that the POS doesn't become a lag fest. --- Honest officer, the dwarf was on fire when I got here! Oh ? Didn't knew that, sorry ... then yes, anchoring them at a safe spot would be a better idea ... but I still fail to see the need to hack them ... they're "secure" after all ...

If you have some time on your hands and a creative mind i am sure you can bruteforce them by guessing common passwords. Not sure if this is legal though

can't see how it'd be illegal (in game or out of game) since it's all property of ccp and you have no legal right to the contence of a none real thing in a fictional universe people should just make up better passwords
monkey5723flyingbrainssnot
would be a good one if it'd fit
*waits a few days and starts testing out to see if people stole it*

there are some places in game that have veritable swarms of secure containers. the hundreds of anchored secure cans in some well trafficed systems and those anchored in pos-es are part of the lag problem.
being able to actually hack anchored secure cans that are clustered by the hundreds in a place would help get rid of that lag. but till we get freed from the static roid belts, I guess we'll just have to live with the lag.
