In the middle of a vast and busy hangar onboard Unity Station Ugleb sits on a crate, hands planted on the crate edge either side of him, shoulders hunched forward, eyes locked on the camera. Around him lies the disorderly clutter of a busy work area, oily tools scattered about, mechanical parts and scrap metal stacked on racks and against walls. By his side lies a large object wrapped in a spotless black cloth.
Ugleb does not speak for a long moment, staring into the camera. A simple brass chain necklace is wrapped about the fingers of his right hand, from which a series of small carvings hang.
ôIt has been a long time since I last addressed the Summit like this, too long I think. It comes at a time of change.ö
Ugleb falls silent, looking down at the deck plates. Eventually his gaze lifts again to meet the camera.
ôNo, not change. Reaffirmation. The time has come to remind New Eden of many things. Things on which I have not spoken out as perhaps I should have. Instead I have allowed others to fill the silence with whispers.
Many will have heard rumours of Northern Providence, rumours fanned by our enemies, propagated by the ignorant and believed by far too many.
The UshraÆKhanàhave faltered. The UshraÆKhanàhave lost their way. The UshraÆKhanàhave embraced piracy.ö
Ugleb smiles faintly.
ôPiracyö he breathes the word with relish.
ôSuch an evocative word isnÆt it? Such strong images so readily summoned. The finger points, the slaver whispers, the taint adheres. What weapon so subtle, so intangible and so dangerous as perception?ö
Ugleb stands, the fingers of his right hand toying with the brass chain absently.
ôOf late our enemies have whispered much. Sometimes quietly, sometimes not. Their target with this weapon has not been our ships, but our reputation. They brand us pirates, fallen from grace. They say we attack innocents in acts of simple piracy, greed. It is so much easier to demonise your foe that way isnÆt it?
Call us Terrorist, and we are branded low. We are called murder, perhaps heretic, illegitimate soldiers. Fighting despite our governmentÆs wishes for a subjective moral cause. Depending on who listens, we are freedom fighters or murders. But call us pirateà and the words inherit a great mass of negative associations. Piracy is such a common thing, so universal, so slowly regarded. Few truly question the label; as to most a pirate is but a pirate. Easily understood. Easily dismissed.
We are called lost. We are painted as fallen champions, discredited. The whisperers say we are not now that which we once were.ö
Ugleb turns back to the crate, picks up the black cloth wrapped object.
ôI have come to tell you that this is distortion. Selective interpretation. Propaganda.
The UshraÆKhan of today possesses the spirit that it has always held. Our purpose has always been constant, but it has in recent time been subtly diverted. Our mandate is to win the freedom of slaves, and this mandate has always been the driving force behind the UshraÆKhan. And it has long been our decision that the government of the Minmatar Republic is not prepared to do what must be done.
And so we went beyond the Republic. We have gone beyond the limits of the Republic in resolve, politics, and geography. We have engaged in activities deemed too dangerous to pursue, we fight a war many believe cannot be won. We have supported renegades of the Republic and State who believed as we do, regardless of what it might cost us. We stand defiant where others sit in silence. We have left our homes behind in order to raise resistance to the expansion of the Empire in Providence. Out here we so often have found ourselves standing alone."

"And what have we done out here? We have carved out a small corner of northern Providence, and here we have drawn a line in the sand. We have settled. We have built. We have endeavoured to pacify this wilderness, to protect those around us.
We have been a local police force, we have brokered deals and agreements between local groups, and we have made compromises and exceptions in the name of stability and order. We have defended our home against pirate incursions bent solely on taking what we have and destabilising that which we built. We have repaid debts of honour to those who have helped us.
And yet they whisper that we are nothing but pirates ourselves. We see those we have helped many times broker their own deals with the Amarr. We expend our resources to defend those who turn and greet our enemy with open arms. And we are labelled the dishonest. The pirate. The betrayer. It is my belief that we are at last seeing whom we can rely upon. And more importantly, who we cannot.ö
Ugleb looks down at the black cloth object in his hands. He slowly begins to uncoil the cloth to reveal a bound leather handle. With a flourish he seizes the handle allowing the cloth to fall and with a bright gleaming of polished metal the Khumaak within is exposed to view.
ôWe of the UshraÆkhan have not betrayed that which we have always been. We believe today as we did the day we left the Republic behind us. Our goals remain the same. But there is one aspect that many of us have come to accept requires address. And that is the matter of priority, and of whom we call friend.
Setting down roots in Providence demanded that we learn how to govern our small corner of New Eden. We are at last coming to realise that we have made too many compromises in the name of stability. These compromises have diluted our efforts. We have sought to protect all who pass within our borders. We have been overly tolerant. Out here we cannot afford to be all things to all men, a force of law, order, protectors and warriors. I am coming now to the realisation that we must focus our efforts and re-evaluate our priorities.
And so we come to a change. For too long we have tried to be the shield of northern Providence as once we were seen by some to be the shield of the Republic. Instead we must once again become the Khumaak.ö
Ugleb hefts the Khumaak in his hands, holds the sun flared edge high.
ôConsider the Khumaak. A symbol of defiance taken up by Drupar against his former master, saving his fellow saves before the masterÆs command could bring them to harm. We take up the Khumaak against those who would harm our people, before that harm reach them.
Consider the Khumaak. See itÆs sun flared blades. Each spoke a cutting weapon, each converging to meet the centre, the shaft, and the arm that wields. We are the arm, the haft, and the centre. Alone we may strike, but the with the spokes our strike gains effect. The spokes are those who stand with us. Not those who have stood around us, but those who choose to stand along side us, lending their strength to our strike.
It is these people with whom I now place my trust. It was not enough for me that the Republic stood in defence only. It is not enough to be a shield that waits for the blow to land. It is not enough.ö
Ugleb falls abruptly silent. He looks at the chain and carvings wrapped tightly about his hand. He raises his hand to the camera, allowing the chain to hang loosely, displaying the small carvings. Each depicts a tribe of the Minmatar. Brutor. Sebiestor. Vherokior. Staarkmanir. Thukker. Krusual. Nefantar. And the bloody fist of the UshraÆKhan.

ôThe UshraÆKhan exists to do that which must be done. To do that which others cannot or will not do. The carvings of the tribes remind me that our people were born one. The bloody fist reminds me that we are one no longer. That we cannot be united until there is change. I swore to become part of that change. This is my purpose.
Today I see that so many have forgotten this message, this purpose. Others seek to bury it. And so today I stand before you in reaffirmation. And I declare my intent. It is not enough to hold the line. It is not enough to stand around us and murmur support.
I have a purpose, a goal, an obligation to the people these carvings represent. And I know only one path to follow. My message to you is this. Stand beside me, with me, or get out of the way. Anything less and you have chosen to consort with the slaver. If you truly have no part in this war then remove yourselves from the firing line.
Call me heretic unto God. Call me traitor unto the Republic. Call me terrorist unto law.
But know this. No matter what you choose to call me, I am UshraÆKhan. I have bloodied my hands; I have given up my homeland. I will fight alongside the damned and I would become damned myself if it sets my people free.
I am UshraÆKhan.
We are the UshraÆKhan, and we come for our people."

Excellent form.
The Brutor has always been a species known for ferocious gestures of honor, but such eloquence is unusual indeed.
What your speech fails to make clear is the methodology of your passion and honor. The drifts of your dead "brothers" spread across space by your hand. The bodies you have traded for your sad attempts at revenge. And the utter futile nature of your lost cause.
But let us take this "Khumaak," as you call it, it is perhaps the most enduring symbol of your rage, no?
It is a symbol that endures for one reason, and one reason only, it is of Amarr.
You have profaned it in the blood of innocents, yet its core being is still of Amarr.
In the inevitable triumph of the Will of God, all that will be left of your religion of hate will be these "Khumaaks." Your cause will have turned to dust before your eyes. They will be cleansed, they will be reclaimed. What has been taken from God will be returned to the service of God.
Your hatred will be forgotten, the millions of dead slain pointlessly for your cause will be forgotten as they languor eternally in Hell.
If you are lucky, your progeny will survive, they will look out upon a glorious future. They will join with the People of God, and will forget the failures of their forbears. Your soul will look up from its eternity in pain and will wish that you had been the one to realize that your cause was false, that your place in the world was nothing more than as an ill starred pawn of the deceiver, cast away in vain.
The eventual triumph of Amarr is certain and absolute.
The Will of God shall be done.

The changing methodology of the Ushra'Khan is for those who stand within our Council to say. I relinquished my place there many months ago. My words here are of spirit and intent, not tactical doctrine.
Consider instead, the Khumaak. The Amarr tell us that Amarrian supremacy is absolute. That the Amarr are superior, that the battle is futile. Drupar seized the Khumaak from the hands of a royal heir, and slew him with his own scepter. Before this act the sceptre was a symbol of Amarr, in a heartbeat one the greatest living Amarrians was brought low when he believed himself triumphant.
The golden scepter was indeed Amarrian. Glittering, magnificent, and decadent. It shows us that the Amarr are not invincible and it shows us that their own creations may be used against them. A slave may take up the very symbol of his Master's power within his own court and win freedom. An Amarrian is only human, and the slave may win freedom.

A beautiful speech indeed. I usually try to stay out of threads like this, which are guranteed to bring in opposition and arguments, but I couldn't help but find the speech to be powerful and strong willed. Whilst you may defy your government, I cannot claim that I disagree with your cause.
P.S: On a side note, you should make speechs more often. It was far more pleasing then the Archbishops sermons, or rants, or whatever. It really caught my attention where most long speechs lose me after paragraph 2.

And who is supposed to enact the will of that God? The Amarr paramilitaries? Arvo laughs loudly
To be honest, if I were your God, I would come down myself and have the job done, because your performance so far enacting my Will is "below par" at the very least.
And do not come and tell me that your supposedly existing God does not care about the mayhem and havoc a small group of anarchists is causing in the very Empire Heartlands. If he is not caring enough, maybe it is time to burn down some temples and execute some priests. Maybe this way we will finally have your God getting ****ed off.

Beautiful... truly beautiful. I applaud your tenacity, your will, your strength. The eloquence of your words have moved me... I hope it moves many more.
Moves the camera to show her left forearm, with fresh tattoos emblazoned on the skin. They show the symbols of the Minmatar tribes, with the Ushra'Khan fist as well.
Show our enemies our true strength. Show our people our true strength. Lead us, Ushra'Khan, to our destiny. A united destiny. You have opened my eyes... now open those of all New Eden.
Again moves the camera, now to her face. Her eyes are red, from what seems to have been long hours of crying.

CONCORD DATABASE ENTRY 032464 RE: FREEDOM FIGHTERS Freedom Fighters have dedicated their life to freeing those who have been enslaved by the Amarr Empire, Khanid Kingdom or various pirate factions. Their purpose is to bring Freedom and Equality to the population of the galaxy. But although their ultimate goal may be noble, their methods are often not approved by the Minmatar authorities, nor their allies the Gallente Federation.
