DE, I think what ****es people off is that they were lied to.
I have an idea - if you feel like getting into a contract and losing money, just send your isk to DarkElf or Agent Li, and we'll post in the forums that we scammed up front - no lies, no queasy feeling that you were somehow cheated out of your isk.
Oh, and if sending isk doesn't make people feel good, they can send us their stuff.

i think you all here are spamming here more then me ;/ ... anyway, you are right, its impossible to write here about every scam. it was just the first impulse. i lost 100mil, took contract with cost for me not for him - so i lost equipment and money also. Next time i will be more carefull.

Don't feel to bad, I reprocessed all my T2 equipment the othernight instead of repackaging (was yacking on Vent, thought I clicked repackage and so didn't notice the minerals and "refine" button I clicked. Damn CCP for making such an engrossing game!). 2mil in minerals for about 300mil in mods. YAY!

Not jacking thread sorry...I didn't notice the menu, to busy on vent trying to get people to run a very unfriendly pipe so i just ended up clicking stuff to get back and scout for m8's as fast as possible. I ended up logging after that.

i only got scammed once , that was eskgrow system, i think people who get scammed these days werent paing attention, one guy tried and didnt get me, he complimented me on my noticing the flaw in the contract and complimented him, he repied everyones gotta mak a living!" i agree and to each there own.

"I got scammed by so and so" + "I'm an idiot, please be aware of that."
If you've never been scammed, it doesn't necessarily mean you're brilliant, but at least you're not an admitted idiot like the OP.

You may have a point there, but making an overtly cynical and condescending post like yours doesn't say very nice things about yourself, either, does it? It's easy to be cynical and self-absorbed, there is nothing impressive about that.
Note that I posted here, too, despite the fact that I didn't fall for Elora's scam myself. Why? It might seem old-fashioned to you, but I simply thought that it is the decent thing to do.
It could be argued, as you did, that people actually falling for the scam are intellectual cripples. It could also be argued that the scammer is a moral cripple. And it could be argued that the one applauding and rubbing it in, such as you, is an emotional cripple.
I leave it for you to decide who is the saddest among the three.

Now decently stop misinforming the public. You cannot bid on auction if you are not in the same region as the auction was set up. You cannot bid on any out of region contracts. There were a few times when I was stuck in 0.0 and wanted to purchase a certain item sold in empire. The sellers were so damn suspicious that they rejected my WTB offers not even looking at them.
Those of you who have been scammed, please learn to read the warning messages so that you can distinguish a good offer from a scam because otherwise you end up hurting yourself and your buyers.

Elora Narst tried to get me too - and he did not succeed, obviously... But this whole thread is utterly ridiculous.
There have always been scammers around, and they are easy to avoid. You don't need to know every scamming alt's name to avoid losing your ISK - you just need to read what is on your screen. Furthermore, there is nothing "immoral" in what Elora Narst, Kuckaa, R0ME0, and countless people before them did. It's a game. These people just don't play the game like you do. Deal with that.
And a special note to our smart friend Godagast Goudiyah here... No, you CANNOT accept public contracts from another region. The contract has to be private. Thus, Elora Narst's legend holds quite well here, and it is you who does not understand the game mechanics completely.
