You are clearly not cut out for this game. If 13 days is what it takes before you can't stand not being able to fly "ship x, y, z" you will never last the years it takes for others. I heard about this game called 'World of warcraft' or something, it has pandas, you'll like that. Bye! Damn nature, you scary! |

Because we all want a game where you can max out a character in under 60 days and "WIN" the game, and then wait breathlessly for 10 months for the next version to come out.
Isn't it embarrassing when people reveal your failure, and subsequent motivation for making a thread like this, in less time than it likely took you to compose it.... Revenge should not stop at the ship!
It's not so much a mission statement,-áit's more like a family motto. |

The gap isn't that big as you might imagine. By specialising what you train you can get the basics very quickly and then start to broaden your "knowledge". The biggest difference between newer and older players is mostly versatility. Remember: EVE has no real progression like most other MMORPGs. You don't have to fly perfectly fit battleships or capital ships to compete with anyone. You don't have to be Level 90 to be able to do something with your corpmates. The "gap" you have to close can be closed relatively quickly. Even with lower skills there is plenty you can do in EVE. Your "endgame" begins within the first days, do what you like and be happy when you slowly get better at it. If you want to play EVE you need a lot of patience. The bottom line is that it is more about learning the game mechanics and getting some friends to close that gap.
By the way: CCP has to earn some money from subscriptions. The learning systems helps them to keep as many subscriptions as possibly. Yes, you might interpret that as "greedy". I say it is necessary to keep the game alive. After all, they can't just print some money in their cellar, can they? |

This is the last straw, CCP! Even PALTYS is quitting now; surely this is a sign from the Gods to change your errant ways and reduce all training times for new players to cater for the boorishly impatient and mentally deficient amongst us.

If you can't take it you sure can't take EVE. Working as intended. Now go grind some XP. |

Maybe it was my lack of experience with any other MMO, but I thought nothing of the time-based skill queue. Now I rather like that I don't have to grind in order to "level up" and fly new ships. I just throw skills on the list and go do whatever I want. |
