Hi,
for soloing c5 and c4.
Paladin vs Vargur vs golem?
which one and why ?
any input helpfull.
Mostly to do c4 "fast" but c5 when finding good J space.

They are all good from what I've seen people discuss.
Although if a wormhole system has effects that should be taking into concideration how that might effect the ships performance.
Like most people wouldn't fly a paladin in a pulsar wh due to the nerf to armor resistances in said wh effect. |

Paladin is by far the best.
Great range, DPS, tank and cap while not using ammo AND looks far and away the best? Nothing more you could ask for really :)
PS: yes, pulsar is the obvious exception.

I agree, Pally is the best Ship for Solo WHs C4 and C5.
In order of effectiveness.
1. Paladin - Range out to 100 KM with Pulse (DPS ~800 at 100KM, ~1200 at 30K), Easy to get Cap stable with lots of buffer to take nuets and to run smart bombs (no need to shoot frigs), Tracking to hit cruisers at any standard range. No Resistance hole.
2. Golem - Bulk Range (Over 100K easy) but the DPS is lower than a Paladin, Harder to get cap stable and it has a big EM hole which needs to be plugged. Smartbombs kill you missiles and you don't have the cap to run them as much. Much lower DPS to Cruisers.
Vargur/Kronos - Arties and Rails have poor DPS and tracking, Blasters and Autos have poor DPS at Range (C5s have NPC that stay at 80KM).

I don't agree that these 2 are in the same category tbh, AC vargur is quite good and I'd say it's on par with the golem.
It certainly has cap and ammo consumption issues but its range, tracking and DPS are all good.
kronos is more or less unusable.
PS: as for the rats that stay at 80+ km, these arent a problem since you should be micro jumpdriving to them, even in the paladin.

Kronos is the best ship for a niche way of C5 farming, by only doing Core Garrisons. If the C5 is your static then it can be great.

In what way is it better at garrisons than a paladin?

Well they fall in same category as far as i'm concerned but for different reasons
The Vargur does less DPS at all ranges, while The Kronos is great up to 60K and then falls flat on its face.
I did some fits with 3 Damage Mods, largest Short range Guns and 2 TC (TP for Golem) and the numbers I got are below.
DPS all the sleepers.
You can take The Golem numbers from the Top Right and apply them to the Bottom Right since there you would normally shoot cruises with faction ammo (Was using Fury for all bu the top Right).
The Golem does the Best DPS to BS after 40K and the second best to cruisers after 40K, Kronos does the best DPS under 20K and the Paladin is just all round good. The Vargus can do DPS at all ranges unlike but never great DPS. |

Well at lease it shows you that the ship works fine for the site, just not the drifter I guess (well that was a given)
