Edited by: Jubar on 04/05/2007 19:35:58 I was looking through ccp jobs and came across this:
"CCP|White Wolf is looking for experienced Software Testers for the next World of Darkness MMO to participate in the creation of test plans, test cases, and test procedures to facilitate complete product testing as requested or assigned. "
Maybe I'm not reading it right..
or this is old news..

Why do you think they are launching walking is stations? More then likely they're trying to test out graphic engines. CCP needs another MMO under their belt. It'll increase their income and they'll, maybe, possibly hire some more staff so petitions get answered quicker and we get updates faster.

A MMOG based on the World of Darkness is in the very early stages of development. At the present, we are still in the process of conceptualizing and designing the game.

Supernatural elements will not be introduced into EVE (rumors of the Nosferatu modules getting buffed are just that, rumors). I don't remember spaceships in World of Darkness and doubt we will see far future tech in a game with a present day setting.

Hahah.
Okay I was messing. Although spaceships in WoD are not at all out of the question given that insane universe. I think the technocracy has that kind of stuff somewhere. Not to turn this into a WW thread...

The fact that you even dained to make the comparison probably means your been hunted by a number of WoD players :P
The question is will it be set under classic WoD circumstances Sig removed as it lacks EVE-related content. Mail [email protected] if you have questions. -Hango

Doubt it if they remain true to WoD, WoD is inherently skilled earned via experience Sig removed as it lacks EVE-related content. Mail [email protected] if you have questions. -Hango

I am greatly looking forward to the World of Darkness game. And I personally hope that it will have a dedicated storytelling mode aside the usual MMORPG stuff of questing and grinding. Neverwinter Nights' multiplayer part for example would be a fine thing to, err, creatively get inspired by
Too bad that, as most game developments go, we will likely have to wait a generous two years for this one to reach even early beta

World of Darkness, really? How about a cool name for the game, Purgatory, Twilight Existance, whatever you can slap on it, just not another 'world of...'.

I wish CCP would get the rights to FASA's Mechwarrior universe. Can you imagine a Mechwarrior based game with the level of detail that CCP has put into EVE?

I hope they include Hunter: The Reckoning in the start of the game rather than just Vampire & Werewolf. Sadly if Hunter were left out of a WoD game I'd prolly pass.

Its not the new WOD theme, but rather, the new one. I personally won't be spending my shiny penny on the new WOD storyline, as I find it woefully empty when compared to the older storyline that I've grown to enjoy. All and all, I think White Wolf altered the setting and backstory in an attempt to revitalized an overmilked plot, and like all sequels, its very lacking.

Oh that hurts, leave my city alone... oh wait I moved... carry on
WoD sounds good, will it have pirates be they undead or otherwise?
Diablo 2 is five years old, and apparently that makes it more mature than the people who play it. |

I disagree, I think they both have their place in the genre. The original WOD was fast becoming very predictable and rather stale in some areas, most storytellers I know are running a healthy mix of both the Masquerade and the Requiem.
Although having said that the original does have the better overall storyline and will always be more popular as it was the "original concept" and the one many WOD players started with. My friend has only just got into WOD and only plays the Requiem Era and is loving it.
Either way I am looking forward to it massively!

In Vampire the Masquerade the first of the World of Darkness games you could indeed attack other players etc.
However in that game you are all vampires, so generally the reason to do so would be to increase your own generation. (Generation being the number of generations removed from Cain you are). By draining an older Vampire you gain his generation, which means more blood etc.
The game is very story oriented though. I'm curious how CCP will handle it in the future. It was also a dark world, much darker than our current one.
Thoughts expressed are mine and mine alone. They do not necessarily reflect my alliances thoughts. |

Edited by: Yvette Dax on 05/05/2007 14:04:17 I hope they do include pvp in the WOD game, it would be a shame if they didn't. I feel confident that Vampires and Werewolves tearing each other appart would be just as entertaining as blowing peeps up in ship combat!

I like the genre too, and it would be another original title from ccp, just like Eve is. There are tons of fantasy games, but for some reason, most companies dont touch other genres with a stick.
Soon Pirates of the Burning Sea will be out, and I predict it will be quite a success, mostly because its about a original genre as well.

Original titles do sell very well, although sometimes they can be a little too niche for their own good. Either way im looking forward to it, it should be a really good game if Eve is anything to go by.
