It's not as good as either of the previous films. The plot seems to be sustained by a series of massive coincidences.

Craptacular. Too much wishy-washy stuff interspersed with cut-rate action. Very "meh".

I didn't have very high expectations for the movie but it turned out to be a very good movie. Not as good as the first movie but up there with the second one. There were some cheesy bits thou that was rather annoying but overall I thought it was well spent money to go see it.

I was dissapointed.
What did they do to Venom?? He was too lean. I wanted a big hulking mass of muscle. And his voice wasnt gruff. When he spoke the symbiote revealed his face, I didnt want to see Eddie's face, i wanted to see venom's! Ugh.
Also, there needed to be more of Venom's big slobering tongue.

Disappointed with it. Too much lovey stuff and not enough arse kickery. Too slow in parts. I think adults will be ok with it, but kids not. -- 2d EveMaps

I'm surprised the pipes at the end vibrated at a frequency that matched the curch bell and made the black thing go crazy.

Spidey goes all emo and lots of grown men cry at the end. Worst part of the movie is the scene with the giant US flag, really poor.
Lots of talking and a few good fight scenes, could have been a 45 minute long TV show if they dropped all the rubbish.

Actually this i've had to explain a couple of times to others too
The symbiot(black thingy) reacts like that(hates/hurts) by any loud sound like that.
Even the fantastic 4 came up with a sonic weapon of sorts to fight venom and his spawn carnage(--really-- bad guy).
I found the movie could've been better, a bit faster, but as such, venom was nice(really nice) and the whole movie was in a sense, loyal to comic books. Which are also 75% drama 25% whoopping
Oh and...as always...NEARLY not enough one liners

Carnage in Film
An aborted Venom film, written by David Goyer for New Line Pictures, would have featured Carnage as the primary antagonist, but the script was never produced and the rights for the Venom character reverted to Sony.[3]

I haven't seen the 3rd one, but the first two were total crap.
Poor acting and a massive budget do not a good movie make. Kirsten Dunst looks like she's had a lobotomy.
