Heya jakamo, I actually sent Death's Voice an in game mail about this since it wasn't really "on topic". But since it has become topic, I'll relay it here.
"consisting of three parts, or proceeding by three; ternary."
Is NOT the same as tertiary. The trinary / ternary word means that the subject has 3 parts, or 3 subdivisions. Whereas tertiary would refer to the third part of any amount of subdivisions (over 2 of course).
The normal discussion when referring to parts would be: primary, secondary, tertiary, quaternary, quinary, senary, septenary, octonary, nonary, denary.
A use of the word ternary:
"The analysis of a ternary mixture of primary, secondary, and tertiary alcohol types..."
I did consult my dictionary, I also consulted my school days when being taught different types of markets (low grade, but it still is right).

i dearly hope so, hate it when people edit other peoples lingo. especially in real life, just gets annoying :/

I'm seriously not trying to "edit his lingo". I was actually in it to see if I was correct about it when I first thought about it.
I said what I thought was true, and I continue believing that till someone tells me otherwise. It wasn't meant to be a joke, but I was letting Death's Voice know that I think the correct use was different and if I was wrong to correct me and (when he came back with good evidence and a good reason) I would stop and concede.
I investigated his evidence and found him mistaken. From now on however I will take it to in game mails and keep it there. Apologies to anyone who thought I was joking (lol?) and to those who are forced to read it but really don't want to (shame).
