All I see is people leaving EVE, and quite frankly, eve is still boring... All Tech 2 did was add more hard work... not fun, agreeable? You know what will bring this game outa the hole? EVENTS. EVENTS! EVENTS! EVENTS! Weekly Events made by CCP, not Players. There was 1 CCP EVENT (Sorta BIG I guess) in 7 Months in Tranquility. They do this, I bet you a lot of money people will start playing again. Wake da hell up CCP. ---

Its all about Location Location Location. Well I am waiting for some one to tell you to join a corp, make your own Roleplay with the tools you have and be a merry little boy.
But all in all -- I read the info at the start of the screen and saw all this information about some one going to the planets one by opne and some one getting blown up and some one doing this -- yet I havent seen it yet and would like some forewarning when so i can join in -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Came back cause I love you guys :P |

Im already in a corporation and I don't need to role play and even if I did, it might make this game what, 1% more fun . And what tools we have? Ok for my situation, I kill, shoot, kill, loot, shoot kill, same stuff different day. We had 1 event in 7 months man. There needs to be a event once every week at LEAST. ---

i played earth & beyond long after it had become almost dead, 4 the single reason that we had diff evens every week.
events make u look 4 something, something unexpected, SOMETHING
what do i have to look foward to now (the next pod?) i tryed counting them so i could have something too look foward to-like reaching 100 then 200 - lol lost count after 60 or so.
so ya i agree completly with tank

yeah, but i think some of the things keeping CCP from events are the fact that peopel have no respect here.... or the fact the people pod GMs... and polaris... and yes, we would all like events... and be forewarned about them too... but if u say that 20 january, we going to do some serius NPC killing in pure blind, the whole server would go to pure blind...
im sure that they at some point will pick it up... it would sure as hell spice up my day!...

Events have never fueled a MMO game, ever. Believe me, I've played a ton of MMO games.
Look at EverQuest, hardly ever has any events, yet people keep playing it, due to addictive treadmilling gameplay.
Eve doesn't really have interesting player vs enviroment interaction. It's mostly PvP. They could certain work on NPC pirates and adding more interesting interaction with those types of NPCs. More interaction with planets would be nice too.
Eve has awesome graphics, PvP, and a cool player driven market (best of any game IMO). Those are about the only decent selling points of this game, though. ------

Bad choice of terms, Tank.
igÀnoÀrant ( P ) Pronunciation Key (gnr-nt) adj. Lacking education or knowledge. Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge: an ignorant mistake. Unaware or uninformed.
I think you might mean:
CCP is becoming lackadaisical or CCP is allowing the game to languish.

For once i have to agree with Tank here
Total lack of input from CCP means that we labour doing the same things day in day out.
Even a Jovian attack of the home systems would give us something to all "Pool" together to help and defend our nations if you like.
CCP something like that cannot be too difficult can it ?

Tank CEO, only reason you are boored is because you only do the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
You yourself state that you go to where the isk is and play the role of pirate (psycopatic killer in my book but that role is also within the parameters of the game).
Im sure you have tried hunting NPC, done some trading, agent missions and so on... you may even have picked upp a mining laser and fought valiantly against the overwhelming odds of being outnumbered 40 to one against roids... well maby not that but Im sure you have tried other things than gate camping.
If you are boored with your gameplay then you need to change your gameplay.
Possible things you can do (as you are a "pirate" I will only give pirate sugestions): 1: Hunt the pray by seeking them out, dont sit at a gate, try hunting people in roid fields. 2: Use a smaller ship, if your in a BS now, get a cruiser, if in a cruiser try hunting in a frigg. 3: move into claimed 0.0 space to hunt the alliance players, im sure you will not be boored camping stain alliance ships for example.
Personally I have found the castor patch to be very envigoring, I still mostly solo hunt NPC in 0.0 space, its alot tougher now, admitedly the isk is alot better but I have had alot more close calls of after castor.
When I get boored with killing I will go do agent missions or mine high grade ore, most probably solomine it as I play at odd hours, its alot more fun to do most things in team but I have found I need to know how to do it alone aswell.
Reinvent yourself, who knows you might even enjoy yourself playing the good guy :)

Polaris and their Aurora Project are trying to get in some player-created events. Check The Scope forum out for some of the initial stuff they've been putting together. It's a good effort so far, in my opinion, and I wait to see what they'll be doing in the future. ___winterblink/warp_drive_active/eve_nature_vraie// |

Unfortunately Tank if they did have events, it would most probably be in some place you couldn't go because you've been doing your thing for so long without thought for security status.
I wish they would have events though, and give out artifacts like they used to in EQ. Unique super items .

Just plain stupid to believe that a game like EVE (considering the game design and what it aims for) would stand or fall by events.
If the game is boring and lacks of content, events isnt quite the long term answer. ........ There is a fine line between gate camping and just standing by a gate, looking like an idiot... |

Crumbs, why don't we all just spit it out: -
I have to agree as much as it hurts us to admit, Eve simply stinks right now many of us are too afraid to openly admit it [lest we be flamed or locked] 'cos rightly or wrongly we're too besotted with EveÆs beauty to accept any other criticism. ItÆs a frustrating lesson to learn, just as there are pretty women with big boobs and no brains, there are pretty games with l33t graphics and poor content. Although to be fair Eve does have the content, imo its deployment has always lacked imagination and originality. Forcing an entire community into agent missions is a major faux pas (I put this down to CCPÆs inexperience with MMORPGÆs and influence from the æbean countersÆ who apparently play this game too). IÆm no longer convinced that CCP really understand our expectations as gamers and how to for fill them without driving us away. LetÆs face it, thereÆs a real danger, even after Tech II items appear en mass, that weÆll be doing the same repetitive-boring things in an attempt to get to the supposedly æfunÆ stuff, and remember thereÆs Tech III to look forward to, whoopee.
We've invested a lot of RL time and money in our avatars, if it were possible to transport all that effort and training to another MMORPG and keep all our skills I'm willing to bet there'd be a trickle followed by a stampede out of here. I came here for the battles, æHUUUUGEÆ stonking battles, I began as a miner and dreamed of being an ECM specialist with the ability to subtly affect the outcome of those battles, and when my Corp. was offline or regrouping IÆd bounty hunt with my specialist talents and scalp a few pirates. With successive nerfs and some bizarre rebalancing those ambitions (and time spent training them) have been trashed. IÆm not sure what IÆm really sÆposed to be doing û so I run agent missions to pass the time, not what I really expected to be doing æ7 monthsÆ after release. Now we face the real prospect of being in Eve for a year still picking at its surface waiting for the fun to begin; that prospect fills me with dread.

It's true, CCP seems to think an event is posting some BS on the news board.... Amarr Empire Omen got shot.... who gives a ****.... on the flip side of that I also think some good poitns were made about games not eedign events... good gameplay will make up for it. Thats what Eve lacks, good gameplay......

The problem is CCP turned killing NPC pirates from a solo endeavour to something that requires several friends.
Killing NPC pirates isn't overly fun, it's actually pretty boring. Now not only can you not do it alone, but you have to find friends to help you do something that's not overly fun anyways.
IMO, they should just diversify the spawns better, give players more spawns they can solo with their battleships and move more difficult spawns deeper out. There also should be some decent spawns in .4 or lower as well, which there aren't. Missle spam defidently needs to go away. ------

Most of CCP are probably still off till monday and I bet a huge portion of them have been over xmas. Give them a chance to digest their hams and steaks on monday and get back into it. Expecting massive changes and work to be done over the festive season is wrong and ungrateful.
On the whole events side - yeah there does need to be more I agree there. Maybe some huge ones, some discreet ones like the scope article. Its all good!

As far as I am aware, the festive season is about two weeks long.... not 7 months, they have had ample time to create content, both before release and after it..... so please... at least do us the favour of thinking about what you say before you open your mouth.
