Just wondering:
what's the reason the book in the US is so much cheaper than the other ones?
Sure, it can be manufactered there, but that doens't justify an +20Gé¼ cost.
Even the UK version is cheaper then the EU version.
Would love to get someone from ccp to react on this.

It's all in US$ prices on the EVE store... The UK people get it 20$ cheaper than the rest of Europe.

This kind of question comes up periodically and the simple answer is taxes which vary widely in different regions.
And the US price is not as cheap as it looks. Due to how US sales tax is done the price you see does not include tax so what you actually pay is higher than the listed price. In many other parts of the world tax is included in the listed price and you pay exactly that much. |

It wouldn't surprise me too much if the printing is happening in the uk. so it's already there. Which makes shipping _far_ easier. Or they just shipped a batch to the uk, and will handle the European shipping from there.
In addition, iirc, Books don't have VAT charged on them in the uk. So there may be that.
The US price as mentioned above, doesn't include sales tax. While some people won't bother paying it, they are liable to. Just a screwed up system over there.

In the US, online sellers are only required to collect sales tax at time of purchase if they have a physical store presence in the state where the buyer resides. Technically, you're supposed to report all items that you purchased online and didn't pay a sales tax on, but nobody does and it's never enforced for private consumers (with the exception of big ticket items like boats and cars) . In this case, CCP isn't required to collect the sales tax and nobody is going to enforce reporting requirements on the consumer end.
On the other hand, shipping costs an extra $17 to the East Coast.

There are differences in VAT, State and Federal Taxes between the US, UK and EU.
This makes the price different. There's also differences in shipping and logistics costs, which makes the price differ a little.

It's sold out in the US. Some copies left in the UK and EU. It's being shipped out of the UK for UK and EU orders, which allowed us to have a lower shipping cost in the UK. |

In all fairness in this computer age... but the world of printing is consumptive, and somewhat expensive, quality paper, quality inks, time and labor ... The pre-order makes all of that happen. Glad to help make a book worth having. |

That would have been neat, if we could plug it in like a regular blueprint, just give it some unattainable special item needed to actually build it so it will never be built.

problem with ccp, they MAY become availabele. CCP is not the best at keeping their prommises the last few years.
(Look at the mystery code for example, enough BIG changes to at least give something)

"MAYBE". CCP is not good with promises.
Also, if there are ships on the market, they are overpriced.
It is a colossal cheek to put skins into that special "frigate book" that only people can use who went to Fan Fest.
That book is about frigates and not "Concord T-Shirts" or "Survival Suits".

As we've said previously, the Pacifier and Enforcer will be available as in game rewards and as part of other offers and promotions in future going forward. Fanfest attendees have received them first, however they'll be available by other means soon

Since this is a limited edition frigate book I would at least have expected the pacifier in the items. Instead we get the simplest of skins (of the kind that now get dropped by the dozens in the drone event because they were low quality). I expected more with a book I paid 100 euros for. I already see the skin price dropping hard (even though there's only 1337), and the concord ships on the other hand make big bucks for all those gost training abusers.
I'm not expecting anything out of this anymore, its just one of the many examples I've seen over the last 13 years on how CCP keeps failing at rewarding the true eve fans. |
