I've heard there are some lvl fours that are just not worth your time or even possible for solo'ing when doing lvl 4's. I'm just starting them and little worried about hitting one of those unknowingly (specially since I just got offered a 5 part in the Midst of Deadspace mission).
I've heard That Worlds Collide is a huge no no. The Assault too.
Any others?

Depends on your setup and skills whitch lev 4's are nono for you.
Worlds Collide and Assault are both pretty decent missions assuming reasonable setup and skills for them. Both net approx 20 mil in bounties alone and are doable in reasonable timeframe in cap injector fueled T2 tanked raven. Granted worlds collide will test your tank and it might be reasonable to skip that if you do not have yet T2 tank.
Missions I avoid are Enemies Abound 1 to 5 (they are doable altho 5 of 5 is quite rough ride) bcos of faction standings hit (I'm getting quite near that limit where gallente navy will shoot me on sight).
If you have low SP and cheap setup (less than 3 .. 4 mil in relevant skills for your ship and mainly T1 tank) then I would avoid extravaganza, pirate slaughter and pirate invasion, worlds collide and most definately enemies abound. Most important thing is to read up before you accept the mission (from one of various websites). If you do that you can do most of them even with low SP and T1 setup. If you do low damage then Vegenance endboss might be impossible to kill also (he has insane tank).

Enemies Abound gives a nasty faction hit towards Gallente. Well if you run mission for a caldari corp. --- It have always fallen to a few to sacrifice for the good of many

from your experience what ship a preferred for solo lvl4 ?
i thinking to switch my training to raven, because with Dominix i need to be near my sentry |

Raven (and Caldary Navy Raven) are preferred mission running ships. Dominix is considered to be second best mission running ship (at least was considered so before last patch where slightest sneeze towards wrong NPC can get you next wave).

My advice is to look at the mission pay and use it as an analogy for missions you can tank. For example, early in my career, I could tank upto 250K mission pay (not including bonus). Then I went to 500K after a few weeks of skill training. Them 750K became the big mission...
Then you won't have to worry about names. The reward will give you a very good clue as to your ability to tank. Just start on the smaller side... :)

When i started out doing lvl 4 missions i realised that the clue to survive is to thouroughly read through the mission specific comments on the forums. Eveinfo has a very good write up on allmost every mission you encounter.
The general mistakes i used to make in the beginning were to follow the wrong tactics. Once you understand how the tactics works then even WC, Extravaganza and Enemies abound become doable in a decent time without the worry of loosing your ship.
An immense booster for every mission is to do it with a support alt. Either a corp mate that is willing to help out or an alt that you run on another computer. I suggest never to take anyone along you don't really trust, seeing you don't want to get backstabbed.
Good luck and fly safe ******************************

That chain, In the midst... is one of the harder level 4's, but worth it overall, if you don't mind the faction hit against Amarr and Caldari.
In terms of not worth the time, killing and looting, Mordus Headhunters by far.
Pirate Slaughter can be fine unless you induce stage aggro. Of course, if you can handle full stage aggro... then most missions should be fine for you. I would advise making that your priority if you want to continue your future in mission running.

I'm pretty much in the same boat, i have an abaddon with a T2 armour tank, best named T1 guns, T2 cap rechargers and T2 drones, i assume the above would apply to me as well?

If you don't like standing hits, avoid "chain" missions (Enemies Abound, Midst of Deadspace, etc), those pit you against opposing faction's ships, leading to... well, you get the idea.
If you're an active tanker, try to avoid missions against Blood Raiders. Those NOSing BSs can be a real pain.
If your tank ain't that good, try to avoid solo missions with high LP reward. They not only take a long time to complete, they also usually feature loads of incoming DPS. Gone Berserk and The Blockade are probably the best examples.
Worlds Collide can be completed in alternative ways, just AVOID shooting anything in the second room, go for third room directly as fast as possible (resistance is minimal there if you're careful). Of course, killing everything takes good tank/gank and takes a much longer time, but the rewards are good.
If you're in a hurry, you might also want to turn down Extravaganzas (or Mordu's Headhunters, depending on faction you run missions for). They are probably the ones needing most time to complete, due to the fact you have to kill everything in each mission room. _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |
