Piracy and wars?

I was thinking more along the lines of some form of camping, the old unimaginative MMO griefing tactic...

I wouldn't say camping is griefing. It's piracy in the form of EVE.
The EVE universe consists of a few chokepoints which lead to and fro Empire space. It's only natural that pirates stay around those chokepoints since that's where all of the universe's traffic will pass through that area anyhow.
There are alternative ways to go into and from Empire space, but those ways are usually long... that's where this discussed feature comes in. No use for CA forces to guard a point where they think the SA convoys pass through if they all of the sudden sees a tenfold increase of traffic through an alternative SA route to Empire.

I believe what pussie is looking for is easy prey...
People Inside empire space (0.4) running agent missions in frifates & cruisers, nothing as grandious as camping a 0.0 space chockepoint, she might come across BS's there...

Who cares if she is looking for easy prey or not? She should, or she wouldn't be good at what she is doing.
The one who claims piracy is supposed to be about honour and fair play is naive. It's a way to make money, just as every other way there is. A pirate looking for easy prey is no different from a miner looking for an NPC free belt filled with Bistot...

the question was if the "number of jumps" is broken or not, not what the PCat is doing. --

Whitedwarf, Yes ods are she needs to know if its broken so she can locate a profitable gate to camp.
However, as much as I find the thought of camping a gate mindbogglingly dull even by tritmining standards its part of the game unless you lag camp.
Very few players are stupid enough to lag camp thise days :)
And to ***** Cat, sad to see you are in spaced invaders but that is your call...
On the jumps last hour bit, it seems broken, last time I checked I got false readings.

Ok, yeah, I just tried it.
When I switch to "jumps in the last hour" the map just shows the same data from the last option I had selected, i.e. either ships destroyed, or pilots in space, it does seem to be broken...
But if you want something to do today pussie, take a look at my corp standings, I'll be running agent missions in 0.4 to 0.1 space all day today, that is all the clues I will give...

""The EVE universe consists of a few chokepoints which lead to and fro Empire space"
And this is how Naval warfare works too.
Stop claiming camping is a form of griefing, its the way that ALL RL naval battles used to be fought, most small scale infantry etc.
Camping anyhow only gets you a few kills, the best and most numerous of my kills are from lightning strikes on Stain Camped points. (haha Grikl amoung many others, noob)

Not working. I was trying to find trade routes last night using this feature and it wasn't working for me either.

Just to note,, when you look at "pilots in space" on a map those are literaly the pilots "in space".. On the local channel you see those and the docked pilots as well..
*hugs*
PS: Yes the jumps in the last hour is quite borked at the moment..

Readings aren't b0rked, just not updated very often.

tested thisout, and it is flawed, my other account entered a system, and it still said '0' in space there, for the next 10 minutes. Alt was there, no others, the 2 more showed up, i still had '0' showing after each refresh.
I say it is not working proper.
And the last jumps in an hour selection, doesn't work at all.
