That's how evemon checks to see whether your connection is up. You can change the URL under:
Tools > Updates > Url to check for internet connection

Get the latest snapshot from http://evemon.battleclinic.com/ currently http://evemon.battleclinic.com/snaps/2007-12-19_rev_1151_compiled.zip
1005 is old and outdated. See if the latest one clears up your problem.

As far as I can tell, these skills do not exist in EVE. (Yet.)
Would it be possible to have these removed?
Under "Skill Browser," make sure "Show Non-Public Skills" is turned off.

You have to either edit settings.xml (if you feel comfortable editing xml) to delete the characters you don't want, or save all your skill plans to files, delete settings.xml, and re-import your skill plans (which is more of a pain if you have many). |

That is a very old version. Currently you can get 1170 or 1196 from the main site.
