What do you like best?
A titan fleet with lag, 4 hours of planning and waiting, 50 kills in 2 sec after DD was triggered or a fleet of 15 / 20ish moving fast and fighting for 2 hours or more like in the old days? 
Most of us old pvpers from various alliances agree. The titan tool is not delivering much fun beside collecting loot after DD (which between us is kind of limited )
So it is about time to bring a little bee that can remove the titan supremacy. Imagine a small frig, very vulnerable as killable by other regular ships very quickly, but that carries the anti titan device? 
Ideas and comments welcome here.
This post is not about game development, it is about reviving a bit of pvp thrill that is getting hard to find those days...

So long as legolas can take him out in one hit, I fully support this idea. But in the movie, it was a bit unrealistic u know

I dont see the problem, 10-20 man fast moving gangs are still fun. Titans have not affected that at all.

Titans are great because of the Jump Bridge.
Titans are annoying because of the DD.
Titans suck because they cannot really be brought down.
I would nerf the DD and boost the Titan's more conventional modules, allow it to go into siege, and give it a massively badass tank.
Either that or give us A-wings to crash into it's bridge. _____________________________ Fear is the mind-killer.

What has this got to do with alliance and corp discussions??
I think this thread and all the other anti-titan threads be placed in Game Development or Features and Ideas, at best in the general discussion forum.
Tbh in general this forum as a whole needs to be cleaned up and kept inline with its main theme, i.e. somewhere to discuss corp policies, alliance news etc not how we can nerf this that and the other - those threads are best suited elsewhere.

While this thread really does belong in the suggestions subforum I'll add my input here:
1. Make titans and supercaps more killable somehow. The new POS structures that inhibit cynoing look promising. The idea about entering the titan into some kind of siege mode after firing the DD is also good.Could also maybe do with a revamp of how dictor bubbles and officer smartbombs work (given that the range of the bubble is bigger, it SHOULD be possible to bubble a titan without the interdiction probe being in range of the smartbomb).
2. Revamp the stealth bombers into some sort of anti-cap frigate with unique weaponry. -----

I agree with the seige, titans should have a 20 minute siege cycle that can be reduced by 50% with skills. while in the fancy siege the dd will do slighty more damage then now (marginally more) at the expense of capacitor capacity, recharge rate and overall tankability. most mmo's are tank or gank, almost every ship can be tank or gank, why should the titan get both x10?
EDIT: just thought of this one. from reading the bob fifth titan conspiracy thread, maybe titans should be limited within an alliance, say for every 1000 members in an alliance, you get one titan allowed in space at any given time. and yes, i'm opening up a pack of marshmallows.

Supercapitals are moving the game into the region of who's got the bigger guns over who's got the better tactical deployment.
We need a capital class warp disruption field generator that would act like a seige mode and lock down any capital targeted with it while keeping the one that fired it anchored as well. Maybe a 5 minute lockdown. No amount of stabs would save any capital ship trying to get away. Mothership and Titan vulnerablity would actually be feasible without massive amounts of spy-work and sabotage(except in those rare occasions).
Fitting a capital disruption would provide the same kind of risk for those going after the capitals as those being attacked, so it would require an equal amount of effort on both sides. Level the playing field a bit. Ruin all those ninja-DDs and cyno-outs.

...or you could just ignore supercapitals and fly around in gangs with ten of your friends. Your corp have 100 pvpers on at the same time? Break into ten groups of 10 and go roam around. Ignore the blob bubble camps and go have a good time. Gank people often enough and hard enough and they'll leave a region just as surely as if you'd dropped 50 large POS and spent two weeks having snorefest capital fights.

Super capitals are ruining the conventional region holding, which used to take more than pushing the F button once an hour. You needed the manpower to hold a region, guerilla tactics made it more interesting as you could still fight back although your enemy controlled the region in general. Battleship fleets were something that almost everyone could participate in without too big loss money-wise.
If you get DD'ed every time you jump into a BS, without firing a shot, where is the fun? Certainly outside EVE.

Yes, and you can certainly control who is going to drop in on you with a Titan.. by staying in Empire. Even those who do not wish to engage in that level of warfare have to deal with it. Also, given that Titans have been called in to DD less ships, I would say it is an inaccurate statement ;)

Alliances _will_ allow you to gank them forever. A 50 man blob can certainly hold a gate, but its never going to catch a 10 man fleet. PVP in EVE is, by and large, consensual -- real fights generally only happen when both sides think they have a chance to win. If you fly around in a small group, you'll fight other small groups and smaller groups that aren't paying attention. You won't fight bigger groups unless a) you aren't paying attention b) you want to or c) you get tricked. You choose the size of the engagements you'll fight when you choose how large your gang is going to be. If you choose "huge" and you go after someone else powerful, you're going to get "huge" back -- whether thats a blob or supercapitals. And you deserve to.

Have maintainance on them take really long so that fully repowering the titan takes at least a week, that way we won't see them on the field every day.

Titan doomsday should be 8000 base damage with 5% bonus to damage per level, and affected by siege. You would still be able to DD without siege, but won't kill anything bigger than a cruiser.
It should also get a repair/shield boost bonus per level so that while in siege it can tank as one might expect such a ship to tank, along the lines of 20$% more boost/rep per level. Finally, I think there needs to be a cruiser or battlecruiser class ship that is somehow specialized to killing capitals, along the lines of how stealth bombers equip battleship class modules, except done in a manner so that it doesn't end up being a battleship ganker like stealth bombers are frigate and hauler gankers.

While I agree with the OP, the worst thing about Titans is that they are becoming more and more mcdonaldized. Let me explain.
How are titans supposed to work? 
Fleet A fights Fleet B Fleet A is outnumbered, gets mostly slaughtered by Fleet B Fleet A aligns out, Fleet B gets a bit uneasy. Suddenly, cyno pops up, in comes the majestic Avatar/Ragnarok/Erebus/Leviathan Fleet A warps out, mostly. For 15 seconds the fight stops, the system is quiet. BOOM Fleet B gets decimated, in warps Fleet A and unleashes hell, boosted in morale, hungry for the kill. The Battle rages on, sweat and adrenaline flows. The Titan just turned the tide of this battle.
Now, back to reality. 
10 man camp at random gate Hostile cyno/titan pilot appears in local Campcrew aligns out, cyno goes up, gang warps Last 3 get pulverized "Maybe next time" - "yeah see you in an hour"
Catch my drift?

Titans are easy to get away from. however i do agree that they should be in seigde mode when fireing the DDD. would add more aspect in when and how you use this weapon. shouldent be somehting you use each time you see a small gang of 30 ships. but more a way of rescue of your troups.
so siedge mode = yes sir!
if we suck at pvp then why come fight us all the time ???

How about a fleet shield emanating from a mod on dreads or carriers that has the ability to modify down the damage on the doomsday device according to skill of cap ship pilot, distance of other fleet ships from the capital + number of capitals engaged in this defensive action. Greater shield strength if you have several caps all shielding the same 10km of area etc.
Perhaps make it so the caps cant use the shield within a pos shield.
This is pretty obvious and has probably been mooted and booted hundreds of times but I've been away and can't be bothered to read all the threads.

CCP Schould remove, Cariers, Dreads, remove the DD from Titans. So you can you only use the Titan for moving ships with jumpbrige.
I miss the times where an Aliance to myself only by the strength her fleet and skills her systems could hold.
The Future will be BOB will have 30 Titans so they can DD an Cap Fleet. Will be this the Future of EVE i think many People will leave EVE.

I may very well be wrong, but i dont think they will do anything to titans or mums untill subsystem targeting is implemented. iirc the dont even want the supercaps to be scrammable by dictors.
Subsystem targeting should alter the eve universe quite alot imo.
But as i said i may be wrong.

I still remember how many ASCNers spent more time talking about jump portal and clone VAT, than DD, when "Steve" was born. Many people were also puzzled with ability to shoot DD so often, for such a low cost (iirc, it costs more to jump 30-40 ships through portal, than to DD <triple digit number> ships :). Noone expected Titans would end up like this, I guess.
Although there are many possible changes to Titan itself (remote DD being the most important), CCP could introduce T2 battleships, make them have resists on par with other T2 ships, and make it possible to fit "capital warp scrambler" on them. So, T2 BS could survive DD blast or two, and annoy the hell out of Titan or Mothership. Don't think they'll be camping/doomsdaying solo anymore, knowing they can be scrammed.
Or make T2 BS be able to generate 15km forcefield around itself (and all other ships inside), which could protect against doomsday detonation.
Or, just take any of zillion other ideas already posted on these forums...

You havent fought in fights with titans or youre blind. This is a game, in alliance warfare there are (WERE!) long juicy fleet fights and now insted of that many times your fun goes in 1 shot away... Fun, fun, fun...
I can adapt to that but i wont because its wrong what is happening right now in large fleet battles. Fun is being killed.

What about removing the repairing ability of a titan / mothership?
Just give them a huge crapload of armor hitpoints and some shield.
The shield recharges and acts like a buffer for damage but once thats gone armor takes permanent damage.
Armor HP could then only be restored in the supercapital hanger array at a friendly pos. Ofcourse repairing it takes time : like putting a ship in the drydock.
That way you don't need to kill a titan/mothership to remove it from the battlefield. Just shoot it till the pilot feels unconfortable and goes to repair and you'll have disabled that ship for 1 week.
Thats IMO how they should have implemented supercapitals.

Somehow I have the feeling that if RA shows up with 7 titans all of a sudden and DD's and decimates an MC or BoB cap fleet we will quickly see a change of sides on most of the posters in the titan whine thread.
That alone is enough reason to conclude titans are broken.

A change to game mechanics or a possibility to down grade graphics much more so that fleet fights dont turn into lagfests would also be very appreciated.

The DD is easily the most unbalanced and worst thought-out feature in the history of gaming. I don't understand how CCP can't acknowledge this and get rid of it before it's too late.

Simple..
Make a DD expensive. 500 mil in some sort of goodies per shot. It may be worth using against a fleet but you don't want to miss.

Given that I invested in a top quality tin foil hat recently I think I am eminently qualified to tell you how it is:
CCP brought the Titan into the game to kill off the 'end game' and thereby drive out the veterans who annoy CCP by constantly asking for new content and stuff to do with their zillions of sps and isk. Obviously making new content is hard work and can create horrible balancing issues which is complicated to resolve, so.. if you get rid of the vets you get rid of the problem!
So veterans leave as 0.0 warfare is killed off leaving smaller noob alliances to grow and consume the existing content already laid out for them.
In a years time when the current noob alliances spread throughout 0.0 and reach the stage of building titans they too will end up leaving making room for the next generation of noobs.
This solves the problem of escalating server issues with increased population/lag etc and allows CCP more time for hotdog eating contests - everyones a winner!
Now to get back to avoiding those mind rays from the CIA...

I think its OK to keep this here as capitals are changing the corp/alliance landscape for certain.
Part of the problem with capitals is that they are kiling off a lot of good fights and thus changing the way people fight and the way corps are set up.
A week or two ago we had a mid-sized gang in Venal. By happy chance we saw another gang with almost exactly the same number of ships. Following a quick convo with them we agreed to jump into them for a fun fight.
They then cyno'd in 4 carriers 
This kind of response to a fair fight just means you are ever less likely to get decent fights out of pretty much anyone because you cannot account for the cynoing in of capitals, especially ones like titans and MS which are largely immune to any force, which will just lead to more and more ratting npcer ganks as they at least are unlikely to have cyno mods etc set up and ready to go.
Imagine you are half a dozen jumps out from someones home system and you see a 5 man gang the same as yours, are you going to risk engaging knowig there is a reasonable chance you are going to get 5 carriers popping up on you? Or do you get your own carrier pilots sat ready to do the same, in which case the idea of a quick strike group or a straightforward roam go out of the window, which is a shame as those kinds of operations are the best thing about eve as not everyone has the time for 3+ hour a night pos warfare.

I hope you invested in a tech II tinfoil hat . As much as I disbelief anyone thinking that hard about such a thing by CCP, you might have mentioned a (unwanted)sideeffect that should be monitored by CCP.

what they need to do is downgrade the Capital ships.. for example let dreadnaughts jump gates.. let them him battleships let them play a role in pvp.. or something into this level. and then take the titan and reduce it's DD considurably...
the gap between normaly ships and Cap ships is 2 big.
So, make the Dread and Carriers/Motherships and Titans go down a few levels and nerf the DD... and bring back the decent fleet fights everyone wants. for any pvper time the game the time when there smiling most is when theres an amazing fleet fight happening. not sitting in a POS waiting for some super alliance to pop a Cyno and wack u with DD.
Bring back the old Stations where u shoot to capture, intead of bloody pos's. let there be an upgrade system to outposts where upgrades = better defence's and Industrial stuff..
u could achive and do alot more with a system like that and it would bring in a new skill branch to where to upgrade and run outposts take skill.
i heard talk about it before... i mean people say is cause titan cost alot it should return alot, in that cause i reckon outposts should be the same.. u dont own a system even if u have an outpost there. put all that effort in to have a big chunk of metal and POS's. Sentry Guns!!! Sentry Jammers!! Sentry Scrams and Webys...give the guys with the homeground some help i say...
how would cap ships play with a system like this? well Destroying Station defence's and then like old days break the shields and the baby is yours..
so Yeah downgrade the capital ships, and the skills needed to use em

Titans are overrated and will eventually ruin Eve if it's not nerfed somehow. I think Titans are the reason gangs got out of control. You need roaming 100+ gangs to feel safe...lol. 15-20 with no lag was much better. Somehow the Titan needs to 'develop' a weak spot. Maybe smaller DD radius, longer time to move. Put a longer Aggro timer on a titan to prevent logging and limit it's jumping capability or something. Gratz to those that have one. Carriers are like BS's now I think.

More like 3-4b. 1b means 10 BS, roughly. Killing more than 10 BS makes you recover the cost of the detonation, but doesn't make of it a strategical weapon. Killing more than 30-40 BS, makes it strategical and could cover the largely spread story that it's a anti-blob weapon.

Titans do seem to be a missed opportunity.
Emphasize strategic elements like Jump bridge. Add a Outpost killing weapon as an alternative module to DDD (which would require a day long Siege mode + expense + other restrictions). Nerf the DD heavily, and nerf it's invulnerability.
If the Strategic weapons were emphasized then an alliance would only need a few Titans for jump bridges (and possibly outpost killing). It would still be very valuable, but there would be a natural limiter.
With overly powerful DDD's the value of each additional Titan is exponential, as you can instapop bigger and bigger ships, and further decrease any possible counter attack.

Titan's works fine imo. Titans are supposed to be like flying deathstars, its not a whimpy capital ship with a slingshot. I see so much whining. it takes a long time to build one and allso getting the funds and meterials. It requieres alot of dedication. And shouldnt that be rewarded somehow?
