The alternative would be.. what, being happy with the legitimate tactics given the current game mechanics and then talk about their abuse? Or better yet not playing eve at all to ensure to Meriatalantra that the thoughtful post came from a completely unbiased source?
Its abuse the same way warp core stabilizers were consider an abuse by many until CCP put some huge debuffs on fitting WCS. One could fit a combat ship with a WCS and warp away from a fight while others may not have one fitted. That devolved combat in an uninteded way.
The things you can do with a titan with impunity are abuses of it. HUGE HP and e-war immunity was meant to make a titan tough. Taking such an aspect of a ship and using it for stuff like bowling or POS ammo draining are abuses of an ability for which its not necessarily intended, just as warp core stabilizers on a gank ravens in a pirate gank squads was an abuse. One the one hand ravens are high dps and given a tackler can simply own stuff. But if they were to begin losing the fight those WCS make the difference from win/lose to win/run. _______________ Rokh vs. Hyperion |

Furthermore, how do you kill this fleet when theres a titan hanging out right outside the pos? Battleships? BOOM gone. Support fleet? BOOM gone. You pretty much can't do anything but watch your POS fall. gg

I think a better way to make a game would be to make balanced ships first THEN assign a pricetag, instead of making overpowered ships then attempting to justify their existance by fact that they are expensive. This game is becoming capital ships online and the only justification is that "it costs alot". LAME
You'll know when a titan is balanced when they start getting destroyed when they're actually being piloted. As carefree and reckless as these titan pilots are you KNOW they are not balanced. They fly around without support fleets whenever they GD please.
I think you should have to keep them alive through teamwork, with an actual support fleet. Screw their ewar immunity, screw their pricetag. Don't fly what you can't afford to lose. At what price point does that rule no longer apply? _______________ Rokh vs. Hyperion |
