The date is set, location is decided, time for the final vote of the EON Awards! Voting has been made easier than last time, you can vote for such prestigious awards such as EVE Player of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Alliance of the Year and much, much more.
If you haven't made travel plans yet, now is the time to start booking flights and hotels unless you live close enough to the venue. Tickets for the awards ceremony should be out very soon.

I'll come straight out and ask this:
Was dbpreacher removed from best fiction writer? Or did more than 4000 people vote for each of the other dudes, including the runners up?

I'd guess that banned players don't get voted.
However, it's a shame. As I expect the same 2-3 people will win the majority of categories. Nothing like winning a competition that no-one cares about, to boost your ego.

I believe he rejected the nomination from what I heard, or something like that.
Though they didn't contact me to confirm my nomination...

Well I voted in this round only. If this had been clearer from the start (and easier) think more people would have voted with a few diff results. However, unless tix are stupid money, will attend. Don't care who wins really, apart from maybe the guys who make videos and a couple of others who deserve credit.
I think that next year they will learn from this. Anyways, should be lots of beer and is only 15 mins train journey from my house, so nice and easy decision realy. |

A nice selection, though I found myself voting for Verone and Goonfleet in a number of sections.
I'm in the guides section, yey. Unfortunately for me, I have helped on the EON guides by Hoshi and Joerd Toastius, so I think I've harmed my chances of winning ^^;. I helped with pretty much every insider's guide in issue 3 onward, actually.
I'll probably not win and I couldn't go anyway, so I'll just say good luck DS, Verone and Goonfleet. :)

The main worry I have about the contest is that a few sides like BoB, Goonfleet, etc might have an alliance-wide mandate to vote specific people in, negating everyone else's opinion.
Like, does anyone think SirMolle really deserves most of the awards he was nominated for? Or Remedial? I sure don't. But they'll probably zerg the awards anyways

Ok we all want these awards to be a success and while being voted for, by us the eve players, we need to look at some of the insane choices the alliance voting has caused.
Have u seen the options for best alliance or corp website???
The bob one links to their kb..period and to be honest it aint a great killboard.
The goon one is a total joke, website is AWFUL, 2 out of 4 links dont work!
MC, killboard again currently deactivated.
The other 3 seem to be good websites but the 3 above are a horrendous example of how people will vote for their own alliance or who they think they "should" vote for without even thinking whether its a good site.
I can bet there are at least 50 better corp sites out there than the 3 shockers above but they didnt have the fan base. I`m all for awards chosed by us but come on guys, we need to earn that responsibility and obv some of us havent a clue!!

And that, boys and girls, is why contests which boil down to popularity/followers, is bad.
Lets face it, you could have people win ****, which now includes a trip to London, without actually having any basis for the win.
TBH, I hope CCP checks the winners for fault and ballot stuffing.
Not that any alliances have ever done such things...

My vote goes to DamiGe.
All the other candidates have helped shape Eve in their own ways, I suppose - but it hasn't really affected me... maybe apart from the horrid prices of T-2 ships that I'm sure the BoB money machine is fighting to maintain. :lol:
DamiGe, however - and I say that as a proud ex-infodian - has shaped my Eve life, and those of many others, in more ways than I can even begin to explain.
While other vids have had me in awe of firepower, mighty fleets and what not, Damige's movies have inspired me to take the fight to the next level. They're the selfawareness vids of Eve telling a new generation of PvP'ers: "Yo! U b*tches can take on anything with anything as long as you combine intelligence with fearlesness".
Simply put, his vids affect the way people play the game in a positive way. I've heard so many say 'Man! I saw DamiGe Control and that sh*t had me aching for pvp and piracy!'
For that, he gets my vote. :)

A lil question, are players allowed to vote on their own CEO/Corp/Alliance this round? In the previous round that was prohibited, what about this time?

Totally agree with this, eon should specify rules and limitations for each catagory, im sorry but as being a runner up in best website (www.eve-ronacorp.com) is abit of an insult to LLeBring who has spent alot of effort making in my opinion a website in an "eve-style" filled with alot of content. A killbored or a contacts and diplomacy page are not worthy adversaries in my opinion, it seems this has yet again turned into a popularity contest for the alliances with the most memebers.
Again the little guys who make this game have been forgotten, i hope you will learn and next year and the nomination process will be more fair.
