I ran across 2 indy's at a gate in NVA space. 1 got away, 1 didn't. Just a thank you message to the Guy that didn't, for dropping the 2 24% Expanders and the 1 27.44% one. Nice one. That should just about pay for the rare minerals for my next BS. Good Work. See ya around.

So you came to the forums to "thank" the pilot... yeah... right...
How ever you dress it up you`re bragging and nothing else. If you want to thank them send them an eve-mail or something.

Nah, why would I brag about killing an indy? I'm thanking the pilot for the 30-40 million he donated to the Warnei B Fund. Thxbye.
I don't kill indies for kicks, i do it for the Megacyte or 20 million isk expanders they drop.
Nice.

Since techlevel II patch TunDraGon lost 4-5 frigates or cruisers and destroyed roundabout 50 NVA-ships, 60% indys, 1 of them loaded with 72 mil in minerals, 1 loaded with 50 mil in minerals and items, severall with bistot or other rare ore and a lot of them had 27% cargo expanders or other nice items. We also stole 21 secure cans full of spodumain in Venal. This seems to be a lot of stuff - but: to be true - go mining with 5 people 4 h every day would bring more money.
This game stills seem¦s to be balanced to help carebears. How can it be that living with this high risk to be killed by pirate-hunters or escorts brings no money??? Should we go back to Aurohunen where we can kill 20-30 (50% N00bs) ships every day?
It¦s hard enought to get indys with instant-jump-bookmarks, the possibility to log, have or call up to 10 BS escorts and warp faster than our BS can lock it. The gate-to-gate-jump isnt fixed, so a lot of ships drop "at the wrong gate" or still at a jump-in and escape our grasp by - simply using autopilot
I think CCP still didnt understand that without pirate players this game would be boring. The more they nerve pirates the more the pirates get experiecend and tricky. Techlevel II patch was a step into the right direction and active player counts are rising - more than 5000 every day. Give us more action!!! Make instant-jump-bookmarks impossible!!! How can it be that single flying industrial ships can slip through a pirate blockade? Is this realism??? My opinion is: it should be impossible for an Indy to break through a blockade without escorts. This will cause that a new job appears in EVE - escort flying. Industrial pilots will have to pay combat pilots to bring their asses through 0.0 save. This will give fun to everybody.

And you are still whining about pirating being too hard?
Sheesh, there is no pleasing some people. (You want maybe I should take a whip round, send you a few million, and simply send you the money?) Would certainly save you the bother of actually doing any work.

@Jade:
I think that u know that we caused massive damage to your alliance with our indy-raids. But - try to see it with pirates eye: what did we get? We are 5 poeple in our corp doing 50-100 millions a week. This can be done with mining with 5 Thorax in empire space too and - without any danger! We do combat...non-stop, hight risk to get killed. NVA outnumbers us - all in all there might be 500 real pirate players in this game outnumered by 20.000 "normal" players.
Jade, u hate and love us because we bring fun to your boring miner live. Without the 80-100 Forsaken Empire members u would watch roids day for day and quit the game soon.
This is no crying - i want fun! I want u to defend your indys like it should be! Atm they fly arround alone using bookmarks - no fun for u, no fun for me - simply boring. We use the bookmarks aswell and i think ur BS pilots hate it when we pass them in agile frigates unharmed. Instant-jump-bookmarks make the game boring for everyone and make escorts (a nice job) useless.

Lifewire,
I was never a miner, believe me. I made all my money trading high risk commodities from dangerous places past blockades.
Castor has killed trading. Thus I have changed profession.
The reason you are making no money killing indies is there is precious little of worth to move in them any more.
Rather than asking CCP for easier pirating you would do better to ask CCP to increase the desirability of 0.0. trade.
Unless there is profit there is no point taking risk.
Makes sense I trust?
(and really dear, I consider myself no-more a carebear than you are ... I have been risking my life and livelihood in dangerous space since the beginning of the game ... only the absense of any worthwhile profit has made me return to empire)

Why killed? U could do it and hire wingmans to break through a blockade. But u simply want too much ISK and dont want to pay escorts.
Trading, mining, missions, NPC-hunting are the way to bring money in the game. But mining is essential since megacyte and zydrine is needed to produce ships. ISK is worth nothing when u look at it. CCP put rare ore far away to 0.0 and the pirate players are there to balance the amount of high minerals that reach empire space. Remove pirates means that everyone gets real rich and bored - right?
To be able to do our job (balancing the amount of megacyte and zydrine that reaches empire space) we need to be able to destroy indys. On the other hand the indys have to be denfended by escorts. Think it over - what do we have if instant-jump-bookmarks are removed? A perfect game with fun for everybody - balanced by itself, full of dramatic pvp and player interaction - a multiplayer game, a massive multiplayer game! Atm we are still playing a single player game on the same server with some exceptions.

I'm quite sure castor changed all the traderoutes leaving only non-profitable routes there... Correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't traded once in my entire "life"

I don't think that there is any doubt that pirates are necessary in Eve, hell, I even pirate myself from time to time. I think what people like Jade and myself find more irritating than losing a ship (it never inconveniences me to lose a ship or cargo), is the constant stream of crap that comes from pirates mouths. "We killed 8bn ships." "You're corp has lost billions of isk cos of us" "We pwned you".
Its dull. And most of it untrue. Jericho is loaded. We have tonnes of cash. Pirates and wars have barely dented us. Your comments and actions are meaningless in this game until there comes a point were the game mechanics mean that losses are more keenly felt. ATM, they aren't.
Sorry to disappoint you. -------------------------------------------- Dead

This is what i try to say: u have tons of cash! U still have tons of cash! It¦s much too easy to make money in this game.
Again: we lost 4-5 ships and destroyed 50 in 2 weeks! We were really succesfull pirates, making money! But u guys still have tons of cash! What¦s really needed in this game is to limit the amount of money traders and miners earn! We are only 500 pirates vs 20.000 other player types and what ever all these pirates write in forums - i write serious.
Remove the bookmarks will make u pay escorts, limit the money u earn - but will bring a lot of fun for everybody.

Well, I'd say that the only way to end a corp is to wage a huge, unrelenting war. And to do that means a switch away from merely pirating to full scale military operations and armaments. Pirating is dead. Its no threat to anyone anymore.

Castor has changed the way trade goods are added to the market. They now trickle-on in tiny amounts, barely sufficient to fill even the smallest indy. Add that to the slow indies and you have a very slow way of making money.
The vulnerability of indies to pirates is not really an issue. Even if the pirates were no longer there, it would still be a ridiculously slow and ponderous way of making money.
And frankly Livewire do the sums ... I am a businesswoman in-game. Why should I risk 120million isk cargos to make a 15m profit every few hours of dullsville long distance slow travel. When I can simply score the occassional implant and flog it on the market for the same cash via agents with no exposure (and the protection of a battleship)?
The motive has gone out of trading.
Its not the pirates and fear of piracy. Its the pure lack of potential profit.
Hence you are short of targets.

No - pirating won¦t be dead as long it¦s possible to kill other players. Wars are completly stupid because they are limited and u¦ll never find ur enemy, waste ur time in flying arround and ask ur agents where ur opponents are. If they dont want the war they just create a new corp or simply disband without that 1 ISK is destroyed.
Look at the game, at the game mechanism - billions of ISK comming in the game every day by people selling ore, NPC hunting, trading or doing missions - this is no real fun, it¦s more like working for the real fun: pvp. If there is no force that limits this amount of money ISK will get a unstable currency . All players would get real rich, richer as they allready are. And then, what will you do with 500000000000000000000 ISK? It has to be limited to garant the fun.

Ok, so the corps may be rich but that doesn't mean that everyone in that corp is rich. Im not, for example. Far from it. I can just about afford to insure my ship and activate a new clone. But thats down to how I choose to play the game.
Jade is right in certain respects. Trading is no longer a viable option. So why bother doing it? There is no point. The knock on effect of this is that pirates have less targets, and therefore pirating is becoming, like trading, less viable.
This is bad IMO. But its the way the game is right now. And you cannot PvP without money. I need to munch roids in order to pay for my rupture. If I lose it in a fight, I have to munch roids again to pay for a new one. Don't assume that everyone is rolling in cash.
I suggest a temporary career change. Pirating is dead. -------------------------------------------- Dead

I already told u that ISK are worth nothing. Megacytes and Zydrines rule! That¦s why the ships prices rise this much!
The EVE economic will collaps because everybody has tons of ISK! Developers already noticed that they have done something wrong and made NPCs harder and limited cash u can make with trading and mining. Once people realize that ISK are worth nothing prices for every hardware (items, ships, minerals) will rise!
The game mechanism that keeps everything alive wants rare ore to be hauled back to empire space and pirates to balance it.

Why would a pirate complain that there aren't enough pirates? If I were a bank robber, I wouldn't want everyone else to be one too.
Why would someone complain about how easy it is to mine and get rich, and at the same time, brag about how many ships they destroy in 1 day?
Pirates make the game fun? Pirates make the game fun for themselves by ruining the hard work of others. "High Risk" is a relative term and if "high risk" piloting were infinitely more profitable than other types of piloting, then it wouldn't be high risk any mor, now would it?
Pirates grief kill for fun and promote a demanding economy... it's also profitable enough to survive quite comfortably. Do not complain about ships getting away until you can say you haven't been able to catch or destroy anything since castor.
If you look at a map, you'll see that many pirates do just fine podding people after Castor, and many carebares do just fine mining in empire space. You shouldn't want to take away the fun of the less powerful players/corps.
If you really want to fight and have "real fun," come to empire space and take out som convoys. I am sure there's a lot of fun in your 5 BSs against an empire NPC police squad.

@Eldar:
Imagine this game without any pvp. What do you do with 100000000000000 ISK??? What do you do after u killed 10000000000000000 NPCs? What do you do after you mined 10000000000000000 roids? What do you do after you traded 100000000000000 tons of good? You do 100000000000000 missions?
And what happens to EVE when everybody is rich or gets rich easy and there is no destructive power like we pirates are?
