Unscoped Myriad Alliance

It is with a heavy heart that I come hear today to announce the closure of Myriad Alliance.
Many of you will have at some point in your lives in New Eden come across Myriad Alliance. The alliance was formed from the Ghosts of Retribution. Lead by CEO Percival Diddly, Myriad grew rapidly. My personal involvement started when I signed up my corp, while the alliance was working in Omist as a guest of LV. Building experience and assets there allowed us to move to Immensea, where we worked in support of CHIMP and Maelstrom. At Myriad's height, holding the 2o-eew and Z-H2MA stations, we numbered 680 pilots, and were a major force in the region, fighting daily with UNL and various other interlopers.
The alliance's fortunes started to change with the invasion of I-NGI8 by TCF, supported by a large array of coalition forces. Myriad fought alongside Maelstrom and many other organisations to defend their home, but eventually the outpost was lost. Realising that we were next in line, and that we could not stand against RAGOONTCFBBQWTF now that our allies in the area were unable to help, a controversial decision was made to arrange temporary NAPs with the invading forces. We retreated from the region, back to empire.
After a spell fighing Privateers in empire space, MAD moved to Outer Ring to work with Alektrophobia and BGBR. By this time the alliance had lost several corps and many members, and was unable to stand up to Ronin, who returned to the region to purge it of us and our allies. We stayed in the region for a short while before returning to empire again.
At this point, Percival, who had been alliance CEO and the main guiding force for Myriad, decided to retire from Eve, in order to persue some exciting new RL adventures. A decision was made that Myriad, which has always been Percival's alliance, should not go on after his retirement.
I will be staying on as alliance executor for a week or two longer, to put affairs in order and pay back various people who pledged hard ISK alongside their support. After that, Myriad will be put on ice.
I'd like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all the pilots who flew in MAD; it was an honor to serve you as VP. I'd also like to say thanks to all our allies - Maelstrom, Fuzzy Nuts, UCC, LV, Alek and many more. Also, hats off to all our enemies that gave us so much fun - UNL, IAC, TCF, Ronin, and all the others who we fought with along the way.
I've made some great friends while working for MAD, and I hope to see you all in space again soon (tm). I'm genuinely going to miss this alliance.

Edited by: DubanFP on 13/05/2007 00:18:57 Ah, i remember one of Myriad's first ops before we moved to omist. We thought it was soo cool since we took out a megathron with 2 destroyers and 3 frigates. God we were all such newbies back then ^^.
Then there was stybbe, our first tyrant. RA member that harrassed the hell out of us back in omist. I only wish we knew then what we know now. We woulda whooped im' good. God some of Myriad's old members still wake up in a sweat screaming his name. "though i was lucky enough to never lose a single ship to him"
In the end all i have to say is those were some great times, i lived almost a year with Myriad going from a gang of newbies to veteran fighters with multiple wars under our belt. Ops in which Myriad had half as many members as LV in gang, compared to only being 1/5th the size.
Well we'll always have the memories, but this is a sad day indeed. ____________

Nomad, you have to go to settings and set it so it shows your corporation/alliance or the mods will delete your message. "this only applies to the CAOD forums"
P.S. Nomad is a member of same corp as myself in case your wondering. ____________

What can I say ...
Of course I'm very sad ! I started playing as MAD was formed, and was enrolled in it since the beginning. They draged me out of empire when I was only a week old and brought me with them in their first odyssey to omist.
This alliance will still have a special place in my heart as it was the one in which i learnt so many things.
But I would like to add a special note on Antibac, he's doing a tremendous job in settling all MAD's debts, and I'd like to thank him personally for doing it.
