And the minute EVERYBODY thinks that every wardec involving mercs means that if they hire mercs ( or the mercs they hired to dec) it's the same mercs who dec/decced them, nobody is going to hire mercs. I have already heard the rumors about such scams and the preponderance of Vindis and Prots in these fleets is certainly an indication on a lot of ISK already at hand (for people who appear to be hub humping all day). This was predictable when CCP borked your alliance with the watchlist changes. Now we see the final fruition and mercenary work potentially going to way of (real) piracy. Bring back DEEEEP Space!

Devils are are old style group in which the term deep blue means something, while VMG are a group where the usefulness of that deep blue means something to them, this is an important distinction to make in assessing this conflict. The comment that VMG saw no need to join in as PIRAT can do it on their own was the killer in that conversation, in other words we are not joining in on you useless people who no longer play the game so why do we keep you blue, because PIRAT can do it on their own, that really made it quite evident to the Devils that the blue status they thought they had was worthless hence the upset. And yet initially the VMG approach of not getting involved was the right one as it was a conflict between blues, but the leadership of VMG saying that they saw no reason to assist PIRAT as they could do it was stupid in any sense, stupidly insulting to be honest and at the root of this reaction, they could not even be bothered to ask PIRAT not to attack it... Back to the titbit detailed by Herzog above, anyone who spent time in hisec over recent years and started to gather intelligence on the hisec 'mercs' and I use that term with a cough and a laugh will realise what is really going on here in terms of VMG, PE and PIRAT, Devils were different and noticeably so. Anyway, Eve is a fun game where people do such things for fun and it is fun, the funniest part is how many people fall for it. Good luck Devils, kick ass, if you login of course...
