Why the bpc of field purger and other bpc's tells me i dont need skills for invention butt when i'm trying to start invention i need a ****load of skills including caldari encryption methods? I allready spent a lot of isk and time collecting stuff only to find out i need another freighterload of isk for encryption skillbook.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but you state you are using BPCs. I believe you need BPOs to invent, originals not copies. I noticed the same thing on my copies it doesn't give any of that information, but its on all my originals.

As far as I know, the skills required for invention are never mentioned in Show Info. Just check the required materials, the datacores and the data interface will tell you what skills are needed.

Well i could not start invention on a bpo and only on a copy. And on my bpo there is also no mention about skills for invention. Skills 0 materials datacore and tuner data interface

You use copies not BPOs for inventions. You need alot of skills before you can try inventions, and no they are not listed in show info. Read this below.

It will be fixed in Kali 2 as the skill info showed up correctly on the test server a few weeks ago.

As has been mentioned, look here for a guide on invention.
But to answer your exact question you will need: Skill - Caldari Encryption Methods 1 - ~150,000,000.00 ISK Skill - Hydromagnetic Physics 1 - ~12,000,000.00 ISK Skill - Quantum Mechanics 1 - ~5,000,000.00 ISK Interface - Esoteric Tuner Interface - ~35,000,000.00 ISK Plus all the prereqs for those skills, Hacking 2, Science 5 etc.
And that doesn't even cover the datacores which will run around 7 mil per attempt. Invention is something you don't want to start without a good chunk of ISK lying around. ---------------------------------------------- My invention guide: here |

Edited by: Tammahawk on 01/08/2007 16:28:54 well kids thats not even half of it , me and a friend have both tried ship invention he was 9 for 9 failures, and i was 5 for 5 failures, the interface for ships is 419 mil, and i have the supporting skills, invention is worthless unless its for mods, there not as hard to invent, ships is like a damn lottery and the cost is unbeleivable, my friend got an implant for invention and finally he got some and i mean some to invent, not a lot of success rate even still, so doing it with out ur skills up and an implant ,it is almost impossible to invent ship bpc's, and to top it off nowhere in eve can i find a caldari invention implant, thats ****ing me off to say the least, as my friend is doing invention on another race, and he got his from his local loyalty point store, me and my friends have been checking all the caldari loyalty point stores and noone has them, this is really making me mad as all the time and isk ive spent to do it properly, im not very happy and the dev's have not responded to my petition as where the hell in game these implants are, like always 5 damn months down the road i'll get some crappy reply that wont mean nothing, and have wasted my time and isk once again, why is it always caldari getting screwed over always every damn time,everytime i turn around nerf this nerf that none of this, none of that ,cripe how about some caldari love for a change, screw another race for a while please, and put some damn implants for inventing caldari in the damn loyalty point stores geeze

OK guys, invention is only for mods... I've never really seen any point in trying to invent ships because it wouldnt really make much sense to. For example: it makes sense to try to invent a invuln field t1 to get a t2 invuln field bpo. But to try to invent a merlin bpc to get a hawk or whatever wouldnt really make sense to me. I can relate with the mods, but the ships are totally different classes so that wouldn't make logical sense as to how you would get that in return of inventing a frigate bpc, so at best you would get the bpo. Which I guess would someone benefit but with the costs of doing so, just buy the damn bpo?
I'm confused, someone enlighten me please.  It's not your SP I'm afraid of, It's your ship. |

Your right if your a noob inventer start with mods... I do ships and have a 1:3 success ratio on average just like the numbers would support, but I also have done the research and know what in the hell I'm doing.
BTW If you wish Iluminat you can send me a mail and I will see what I can do about running a few invention runs for you as I don't like to see people get screwed like that.
