In that time we owned them completely. We removed the ingame pos, we removed them from their ingame ships and we removed thier ingame will to play. They mocked us saying none of it mattered, yet they still continued to get owned. Their alliance is a joke, there is no leadership, there is no teamwork. There is nothing but a bunch of idiots playing eve solo while asslicking a ****. The lucky ones are those who have seen through the facade and have moved onto other corps. They might have a future in eve. Those who remain will be griefed, harrassed, killed, mocked and abused until the servers go down. They will never be allowed to build up in any sector of 0.0 space and whose alliance will be slaughtered whenever we feel like it. Goons in space? No, Corpses in space. Well, that leads us to where goonswarm is now. Goonswarm took over 9-9 a while back, and has because one of the biggest station holders in eve history, contrary to what BoB wants. To combat this, BoB POS spammed 9-9 and is trying to kick goons out by camping the system 23/7 with 2-4 titans in system at any given time, at least 2 motherships, and reinforcing all POSes every chance they get. They thought this would work, and yet here we stand. BoB has been POS bowling with less and less success, BoB has DD'ed it's own fleet at a POS they forgot to put a password on allowing evil thug to loot all of the t2 wrecks, and they lost two dreads and a carrier while trying to attack a goon POS, cynoing everyone out leaving dozens of fighters behind. Band of Brothers will be taking sovereignty of 9-9 soon, not because of extreme power, but by POS spamming the whole system, there are over 60 moons and BoB has spent the time and effort to fill each and every one of them. some of theirs have been destroyed, some goons have been destroyed, but BoB will loose the station again faster than they think. BoB has been trying to eradicate goonswarm POSes from the system, but have failed to take all but two POSes out each time they come out of reinforced. Goons in space? yes. Band of Brothers in space? they're becoming corpses a lot faster than they used too

Eventhough there might have been some success for Goons. I think it is too early to be saying "oh no we will beat them". Also the goons have a high number advantage. Why didn't they put the effort in securing all moons? or prevent BoB from spamming them? (unrealistic, as it maybe to achieve). Your advantage is your numbers, theirs is their toys. Its yet again an interesting match up. Goodluck to both sides.The real question is, Quality or Quanitity? All is fair in love and war. Maybe its time the goons spammed a BoB station system with towers. (p.s. maybe i should write my posts in word first.) Disclaimer: This is my personal opinion.

It has seem to become a common assumption that BoB is invincible, that they never make mistakes, never get flanked etc. Just the fact that you feel them losing some fighters and 3 cap ships makes losing a system a victory for you shows how little you understand your opponent and highlights why the swarm can not succeed in Eve. The reason Goon will lose is because of who they are and where they come from. The reason Bob will beat you is for the same reason. The community that spawned goonswarm is a stupid, childish collection of people that set out to grief other gamers. You can spin any story to make it look advantageous to you, but even today, a year(?) since DBP posted that, I still don't find too much about his post that is untrue.

It looks like we have the slight number advantage (lol blobswarm), and are benefitting from that by killing a handful more ships. BoB have deployed at least two DD's, and by the time their many kills have lagged into their inbox I imagine they'll be ready to deploy some more. Lag is at about 15 minutes, and I cant get into system after crashing. Updates as they happen.

We entered siege already knowing that we were outnumbered in both fleet and capital ships. We are fighting this 99% solo, we have less than 1% of our gang consisting of any allies. You have definitely done more than one thank you for keeping your dreads locked for us to kill that's because you've made more enemies then friends umm, goons have killed more BoB than the other way around lag to get in is over 2 hours now

Took two hard reboots and 45 mins to login and then 20 mins for grid to load. Locked another ship and lost connection. Also, night shift doesn't go bowling as often.

(15 minutes later) ok, second shots fired, person x is going down, anyone manage to lock person y yet? (another 20 minutes) ooo, hey, bright light. my ship seems to have stopped moving and I'm out of control, oh well. Person y is now primary (15 minutes later) ok, someone else call primaries, I finally warped my pod out in the middle of the battle some goons warp off, some BoB cyno out, etc. and battle goes on, total time was 3+ hours I believe. anyone have more screenshots? currently BoB+friendlies outnumber goons+friendlies.

I agree with Beyond Horizon, good fight BoB and congrats on holding the field and managing to take out the POS(I hate having to say that )

Then hell breaks loose, Hostile dreads comes in, Targets are called, battleships warps in, our DD fires, I get "somewhere" see only my ship and nothing else for some 35 mins, then i warp "somewhere" seeing only my ship for another 25 mins and then i warp again to "somewhere" seeing only my ship. Then i crashed. Reloging, another 10 mins on "Entering game" screen and i logged back, ends up in middle of fight. Nice. Shoot shoot and more shoot. People blows up, we hold field, we loot, we win. At one point guys said we had only 5 Dreads left in fight because some of our dreads went back for more stront, some additional dreads jumped to fight from both sides, Thug DDed, we killed 25 Capitals, lost 14, we killed 200 ships at least, lost 20 ish... Tonight i am proud to be here with all of you guys. Hell of a lot of fun despite lag. Props for Hostiles for bringing it. Takes huge balls to get your caps out for a fight in such odds. Props guys. It's nice to see them losing systems and now complaining about it. When we lost JV1 the login problem was very one-sided at least here it seems to have affected both sides. I just wish that the BoB killboards were up because the Goon KB's are never accurate. And according to my responses to petitions from senior GM's about lag is that it is to be considered a normal part of the game. Any loss that you experience is at your own risk as PVP is inherently risky. This is because CCP knows that their game mechanics suck but they just don't care. GL to BoB in killing RAGOONs.

Then when they went and kicking seven shades of out of D2, everyone thought "rofl, D2 are getting owned by newbs". Then they took the out of one of my ingame friends who unfortunately passed away in a rl accident. They did kick the guy out who did it. Meanwhile they laughed about it all on their forums. Yeah, we now have a ** for a leader and a bunch of ** followers. Thankfully not all of GoonSwarm were **** but for every **** one there was another one who simply turned the other cheek. Fine, you can all *** die. Then they started an eve-o flamefest attacking everyone and everything in the game. Leaving all sense and sensibility at the door they went on a rampage. So did we. But we did it ingame. It began with us camping S-U, the heart of their alliance. We did this for a month. In that time we owned them completely. We removed the ingame pos, we removed them from their ingame ships and we removed thier ingame will to play. They mocked us saying none of it mattered, yet they still continued to get owned. Their alliance is a joke, there is no leadership, there is no teamwork. There is nothing but a bunch of idiots playing eve solo while asslicking a ****. The lucky ones are those who have seen through the facade and have moved onto other corps. They might have a future in eve. Those who remain will be griefed, harrassed, killed, mocked and abused until the servers go down. They will never be allowed to build up in any sector of 0.0 space and whose alliance will be slaughtered whenever we feel like it. Goons in space? But corp-wise, Goonfleet is taking most hits atm. yeah anyways, I generously took your advice and took a look at BoB's killboard, and it shows about 80-90% of BoB's kills are from Goonfleet and shock there were more then BoB fighting on BoB's side tonight. CoRM lost 1 Dread Alliance: 14 GoonSwarm lost 13 Capitals (9 Dreads, 4 Carriers) Red Alliance lost 9 Capitals (8 Dreads, 1 Carrier) AAA lost 5 Dreads TCF lost 1 Dread Coalition: 28 (23 Dreads, 5 Carriers) So BoB didn't take the biggest loss but the same as GoonSwarm. However, BoB forces were able to loot all 42 Capital wrecks completely (down to the last can). Draw from this what conclusions you may. These are just hard stats.

Sure, it took half an hour to load up fighters then half an hour again to load up everything else, but that is part of the immovable scenery and all you can do is shrug and be patient. From a peon's point of view (perhaps incorrect) we were significantly outnumbered on the field in both cap ships and support, but we seemed to have more battleships. I'm sure we lost more dreads then the enemy at the start of the fight, but our unwavering focus saw us out. We appear to have won convincingly although I am sure there will be debate about isk losses given our dread fittings. Our TS was what I have come to expect from the finely-honed military BoB machine: utter discipline, precise clarity, cool-headed calm. Our logisitics were outstanding as usual. More please!

Came as a surprise when, for one of them, I thought I was hung up on a POS. Various convos through the fight were along the following lines... Bob1 : Dude, I can't get local to load Bob2 : Hell, I am in local and I can't get the grid to load Bob3 : Don't worry, Bob1, I see your mothership at the POS Bob1 : Whew, you sure mate? Bob3 : Well I was, but my shields just vanished in a DD so I guess I am not at the POS after all... Bob1 : Bugger OK, so I am crap at battle reports, but big props to all involved on both sides. Same again tonight?

Super happy im not in an alliance anymore tbh! We had some nice capitol fight but it just left most people going omg that was great fun. Dreads fighing other Capitals, Carriers and Motherships doing their thing, The influence of Titans from both sides. For the majority of this time, non-capital fleet's waging war involving Battleships, hac's, Cruisers, Frigs, and even ibis's all on the same grid. And all this time - more and more people were warping in! I guess its the only battle I can think of where every ship class was involved.... apart from Logistic ships I guess A battle that I enjoyed a lot more than F-T. My hands were sweating profusely even before the battle started . Even though the lag was simply horrendous I had a great time and I am still pumped up about it. As for battle reports its very difficult to give an accurate one given the lag and the numbers involved. I had friends constantly asking me during the fight what was going on, how many we lost, killed, remaining etc. and all I kept saying was "I don't know, but my overview is still full and I have it set to only show dreads". You will have to rely on the killboards to get a rough estimation of what the fight may have been like. I feel bad for the guys who never even loaded the grid and still died as a consequence, or couldn't log on to begin with, I know for a lot of the fight my fighters just sat there "Idle". I've now been in three "epic" battles in which I was able to fight (been in more, but been lagged out the majority of them, F-T for example), and I think this battle may rank as my #1 favorite fight for the meantime though. Hopefully more just like it are on the horizon. Thanks again to everyone involved, I had a truly great time. P.S. Oh, and I am suprised Zeppelin died, last I saw him he was 13 au away from me (but still showed in overview). P.P.S. I really thought that Molle just wanted us all dead when he sent us in there! The other two you are counting are actually BoB losses that ended up on your kill side because Chowdown got on the mails from using his DD.

I did a quick check on the market where I was. It was probably inaccurate. There wasn't much listed in Amarr space for capitals. Perhaps 450 mil was high. Maybe with insurance factored in, it is more accurate. Definitely don't need 100mil for hardeners and such, they have crashed in price recently, due to invention. And several people like to protect their dread investment with some faction hardeners, shield boost amps, cap rechargers, etc. - - - WTB new sig, evemail me please.

Firstly, using any killboard to calculate participation does not give a clear picture of the actual numbers on the field. For example, I know that a lot of pilots who were present at the start of the fight were not there at the end because if they were unfortunate enough to crash many were unable to log back in. I know that some pilots did not join the fight until late, because I was one of them. I know that some pilots either cyno'd or warped out to refuel. To claim that participation in a single killmail equals being present for the entire battle is unfortunately one of the side-effects of trying to use statistics as a substitute for actually seeing things first hand. Point two, about general fittings. Goonswarm want the general public to think that they don't take this game of internet spaceships seriously, and that anyone who does is some sort of mutant. There use of low cost ships vs high value targets was always one of the things they would point to, arguing that using expensive set-ups to gain a marginal advantage was a clear indication of a "play to win" mentality. However, looking at the fitting of the destroyed ships it is clear that Goonswarm are certainly starting to take things more seriously than they would have us believe. Yelina, for example, was flying not a tech 1 fitted carrier, or tech 2 .. or even faction, but rather an officer equiped ship. It seems as if the goons have realised that if they wish to become a credible force then they will have to put some serious hardware on the line. This flys in the face of their "cheap swarm" doesn't matter if it dies bravado. The question is, are the swarm ready to become what they mock in order to compete, or would they rather die in droves as victims of people who see Eve as "Serious Business"? This may be a turning point for the Goons. I am genuinely interested to see which faction wins out, the SA mindset or the power of Eve. Serious times. Yelina, for example, even pimped her Thanatos out with officer-modified instead of X-type hardeners (same resists, but look cooler), and a faction sensor booster. There are many goons who are rich, but it doesn't mean their mindset is any different, and I'm sure even the officer fit carrier pilot would get a laugh out of "serious times." Anyway, it's not much of a contest. SA mindset will win as the vast majority of people (those who aren't in capital ships) in goonfleet aren't even playing eve for the game. They're mostly playing for friends and the organization they feel they have some stake in, and hoping or waiting for a change to supercapitals. Pretty much all of the newbies that goonswarm has brought into the game over the last 4-6 weeks have quit before their trial period was over since they aren't around long enough to make friends, don't feel like they have any stake in the swarm, and with our opponents using 2-4 titans 23/7 the subcapital game mostly consists of getting doomsdayed repeatedly.

Explain the metagaming that GS takes part in ? (TS/forum soying etc)Why bother with that if they arent taking the game seriously ? The rank and file members will be the same as in 99% of corps who just play this as a game but the leaders of ANY alliance play this to win , or to try and accomplish something.

I'm aware of at least one program early in the war that resulted in the dropping of approximately 200 dreadnoughts in various pilots' hangars. Not sure if those were alliance reimbursements or new ships, however. --P

That would be an NPC corp, thus, he's not allowed to be used to post here. And what's there to answer? I know ex-ASCN cap pilots, and more importantly, I know more often than not, losses were all on them to recover even if it was a loss trying to protect ASCN assets. Nothing says 'well screw this alliance', like finding out you're on your own to get a new dread after yours goes down defending a pos or outpost.

When I was a Director in Out Siders (who later merged into VAF) in ASCN, every penny the corp made went into replacing losses - Even people ratting would drop off all loot to be recycled into battleships. When our dread pilot lost his ship, he never received a replacement dread. In fact, just before I joined bob, I sent him hundreds of millions from liqudated corp assets. Every penny of liquidated corp assets went to those who had the balls to be on the front line 24/7, starting with those who lost most first. There was not enough to give everyone a good payday, but 400mil here and 100mil there to people helped a lot. I have handed out approx 2bil from liqudated corp assets, and kept not a penny for myself. Even people who I currently shoot have probebly bought their ships with the 100% liqudated corp assets that I gave out. This does not even incude the ships we replaced during the war itself! So much for alliance plex runs to support alliance dreads. It was obvious that this was not the case at all. I could have done what others did - Hide a few billion in assets and nobody would be any wiser. Under cover of war its simple to grap a corp hanger under the basis of holding it securely then never mention a word thereafter. Thankfully, I have my self respect, and paid for what ASCN should have really supported, but that all water under a bridge now. -- Billion Isk Mission
