Well sometimes they do leave... I liberated ore from some a macro miner (same guy seemed to be running 3 mining battleships in three different belts with one hauler) for about an hour before he twigged. I kept it up for a night and eventually all the ships moved 25 jumps awya into Minmatar space.
I left it a week and followed them
of course, I petitioned them for macroing every time

Originally by: Gaven Blands I'm still embroiled in some crazy GM stuff at the moment resulting from me, for the very very first time, reporting a potential macro user.
Note: Reporting someone as being a macro because you hate her is NOT a good idea. That's one of the resons GMs have too many petitions.
Kublai's alt service: This poster's main is "JP Ryan".
Reporting macro users for using macros I used to consider was a good idea. Now I know better. Report macros if you see them, but if it's a female, you're doomed.
Best idea is to NOT report macro suspects EVER. It is not worth the risk of them being female. Even though I knew this one was female, I completely failed to take into account exactly how much that is worth in GM eyes.
Others can learn from my mistakes, as long as they have the information, this is why I am giving you all a non-GM based warning.
"Dude, it might be a chick, don't go there. The most famous whistle blower in Eve was banned in very short order, that should tell you everything you need to know about CCP's view on tell tales."
Ehm.. so you know the player involved... and you saw macro like behavoir... you're soo full of it. GM's took the right action from the sound of it. Petition macro'ers. But ffs not everyone in a belt is a macro okay.

If you petition a player using a macro and he just acts like one but isnt one, the GM will come down and talk with him/her before he applies the banstick, if you are in error then he will close it. ------------- Hadean Drive Yards The EvE inflation, 80 Macro miners, 1.5b isk/day |

Originally by: Last Cause Yeah, you make the system harder, they make a new macro. Runescape had an interesting system for it though, as it was a simple matter to macro a mouse that just clicks over and over. You log out if you just stand in one place too long, also several events happen at random that require intelligent choices. I.E you get a little puzzle box that asks a simple question to recieve a small prize. If you dont open the box, it starts to multiply in your inventory until you're out of space. Other things too like the head of your pick will fly off and you have to go grab it and stick it together again. Easy stuff to do, but you can't really macro any of it cause of the randomness. I'm just saying EVE should have a similar system but it'd be much harder to integrate as EVE is MUCH more complex.
Undocking codes. You want to undock a Barge or an Exhumer, you've to type in the random code that can't be copy/pasted. You get petitioned as a macro miner by a player, and that goes for all your ships for a month. Phoenix Logistics Industries |
