Edited by: fightnkill on 16/05/2007 07:00:09 With the ways are atm, I think RA-Goons will become winners in the end.
Even thou the Coalition is losing the war against BoB, that fact alone is actually systemetically making Ragoons stronger.
Coz think it like this.
You lost the war, you were kicked off from your space you earned it by working hard, and your enemy is taunting you.
Would you A) Support the enemy despite the fact that he destroyed the things you earned so hard B) Support the enemy's enemy? C) Quit Eve most people will choose between Option B and C.
As well, Time is BoB's enemy at this stage.
Here's some facts bout Goonswarm and their Quality (Their Quantity always remain high) August 2006 - Mostly Frig Sept 2006 - Frig, destroyer, cruisers, few BS Jan 2007 - T1 & T2/T2fitted frigs, destroyers, cruisers, BS, and Few dreads & Carriers May 2007 - A lot of dreads, Carriers, t2 fitted BS.
and my predications may be July 2007 - First Goonswarm Titan? Jan 2008 - Average GS member is very close to Average BoB members in terms of quality, organization, and efficiency.
Even with the current level of Quality, organization, and effiency for GS. BoB is still taking GS as a serious threat and a match to their strength.
Time + Support from defeated allies = big advantage for GS.
looking back in Eve History, BoB/BoB corps were in the same position GS is in now (Fighting BS with Frig swarm). Come to think of it, BoB/RKK invented Frig swarm?

dont know how you could come to this conclusion tbh.
The only things that will kill bob will be..
1. boredom due to lack of targets (possible if they become too strong) 2. internal dispute (possible due to strong conflicting personalities)

cute, EVE is finnaly transforming into a 3D space chess game. Pretty soon when most pilots will own cap ships and systems can't accomodate more than 600 ships fighting there will be new behemoth ships shooting stink assmageddon bombs several systems away with system-wide effect. The EVE fast food culture era is here, rejoice!

Try 2015
Being new to BoB I can honestly tell you goons will never reach the organization BoB has nor quality or efficiency. But their strategy isn't to be efficient or to have quality organization, their strategy is quantity and the idea that quantity solves any quality, organization and efficiency problems/drawbacks you have.

Erm, no. Those exact three points are what made BoB so successful against the other old alliances. Goons would need to improve a lot more than simply getting more sp/experience in the game for that.

Do you really think we haven't thought about what we would do after we conquer all of 0.0?
We would build in it, of course. We'll pave the gate superhighways with POS, milestones so to speak, and litter the landscape with stations and outposts to serve as cultural melting pots. We would create our own missions, and have people do them for a reward. We shall establish learning centres for diverse topics such as history, business and economics, military strategy.
When every system has been fully developed, or even before that, we would stage regular gladiatorial matches in the center of our great empire. Foreign emissaries would visit bringing gifts, tribute and slave dancers. Fatted calves would be slaughtered and roasted and everyone shall feast in celebration of the glory of our empire.
And then at the sunset of the day, we shall stand upon the great heights of our majestic palace and survey all that can be seen for miles around. The people below shall be cheering us on like schoolgirls in a boyband concert. We shall look upon all that we have achieved and say: "now would be a great time for evening tea and crumpets". With that, the crowd below shall go wild, fireworks shall be lit, the streets shall be filled with music and dancing until the evening.
When sleep comes, we shall dream about the glory of our empire until the wee hours of the morning. Then it shall begin anew.
BTW, nice Malediction there Thyrrax. I didn't know they also came in black.

Because you know, if not for that Sabre BPO, BoB would be cowering in fear as the mighty armies of the Coalition took over Delve. If only they had one Sabre BPO, just one, the tide of the war might have been turned. What a shame!

I distinctly remember having had to mine a lot in 2004 during GNW times, so we could buy a lot of these T2 BPOs. Was a good investment of time AFAIK

To be honest, the Crusader definitely outdoes the Malediction when it comes to style.
Although I must say the silver paint on the Malediction surely makes it somehow look like a certain magnate that flew around a while ago. -

You have that right to post your thoughts! I fully support that right Gnulpie, but understand that this subject is higly volatile material. Using common sense stating your opinion and place your mind one step past the hype is highly recommended.
They way you state your opinion is grasping to a single happening to state your opinion to the entire war and outcome. Doing that isn't very diplomatic and might be understood by many entities in this game as lack of constructive judment alone, and sadly I have to say, including me.
The future is not ours to see, only to experience if we are given the time.
I would suggest you proclaim your thoughts carefully on these forums with more tact and diplomatic feeling.

Edited by: Virida on 16/05/2007 10:53:07 Edited by: Virida on 16/05/2007 10:48:10 Bob is not the problem, gamers love to play, and bob is just one of the best groups in eve at the moment. The size of EVE is the problem.
When a game as EVE reach so large a size with no shards, the sheer SIZE of it brings in problems. The sociology of numbers tells about what sizes of groups who is most fun for gamers, and eve dont confirm to anything whatsoever at the moment, we got a game where the least effective group size grows, and fighting bob in a sane way, simply is barely "fun", in any shape.
Result is bob grows in power, and get less fun. The policy of no shards lead to huge groups the size of brigades in real life, with little sense to what is "fun". Dunbar's number is not the issue, it can be overcomed, the issue it is less fun being ant number 2056 attacking wasp number 4512 in one of the 3-4 player run kingdoms, than being one of 50 or 120 in a small scale pvp game. Its still fun, just less fun.
In a smaller game, its also simpler to try MAKE a rival to bob. In this game, making a good oposition to bob is like founding a pyramid sceme, needing to be a agitator, general, skills of a real life CEO and a orator prodigy.

The very minute in which you start doing something, you are already waiting for its end, such is life !
WHat matters here is, since we are speking of a game, if you are having fun in the time between the beginning and the end. I, for one, am still having fun (even if there are many things in today's warfare that make me look with nostalgy at Castor EvE)!
I hope that the fun will last for long !
