2 gangs engage each other.
Carrier warps in. Enemy gang will modify their tactice to make you useless, ok drop Triage. Cant use drones/fighters (no u cant delegate fighters, even if u go in triade mode and u could, u would lose control of them = no more fighters. Even when delegated, fighters are still under ur 'drone out in space'. Do you really use a carrier b/c ffs if you didn't know that then wow gonna be a expensive lost when you first go in triage mode when ur fighters are delegated to someone).
When you start taking away from your tank, you #1 will have less chance to survive, #2 will use more cap to keep urself alive. Ok so you gimp your tank to be able to somewhat use a rep one someone. The TRUTH is that you will ONLY be able to keep alive a couple targets alive for 2-3 mins then you ARE OUT OF ******* CAP SO YOU WILL DIE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE STUCK WITH NO CAP AND CANT WARP/CYNO OUT.
Triage Module = Keep a couple friends alive, run out of cap VERY fast, carrier is dead/useless, friends die. Even if they warp out, whats the point in losing a carrier to save a couple BS? Only way it could be useless is if i drop my tank resistance, stick mid slot cap rechargers, drop my low slots and stick cap power relay's... what will i get? Horrible tank, and horrible shield boosting b/c of the cpr... And guess what? I might be able to keep them alive a bit longer but... Carrier dies b/c he has a horrible tank, and cant be rep by logistics or other carriers
Triage Module isn't a boost... its a quicker way to kill a carrier. The ONLY reason to use it is if the enemy sucks and a carrier is just in to minimize friendly loses OR if you get uber wtfpwngankbbqsauce and try to keep urself alive until help arrives... but if that happens, 90% of the time they will have NOS fitted so you will die etheir way, just quicker.
Boost carrier cap recharge... we aren't asking for a lot, just enough to make a carrier actualy useful with this new 'boost'.
This is more or less the conclusion I've come to as well, is a few, very rare situations it will be a module of absolute win, but mostly only in small scale fights where the DPS of 14 fighters would accomplish the same thing.
The only ways I can think of making it truly worth using over fighters is if : - Carriers get more highslots so we can be fit for both combat and triage at the same time, otherwise every carrier is just going to undock in combat configuration. - Triage mode gives a big boost to cap recharge - Triage mode timer is at least halved to 5 minutes.
I just can't see a scenario right now where triage mode would be a safer bet than the damage output of 13/14 fighters/drones + mabey a remote rep or two in non-triage mode.
