All the OMFG NECRO!"! posts are actually more irritating than people replying to incredibly old threads, and any thread more than a month old is ultimately doomed to die a painful death as it's repeatedly spammed by necrophiliacs.
CCP forum dudes, if you don't want people 'necroing' threads you could easily have them automatically lock a certain time after the last post, or if you don't mind if people want to continue old threads, you could start banning the **** off people posting the eponymous NECRO BAD MKAY LOL ROLLEYEYES nonsence.
personally, i'd go with option 2.
also, there didn't seem to be anywhere to post about forum development, so i stuck it here. sorry.

I think the people who whine about people who necro are annoying, also the people who whine at the people whining at the necros are annoying.
But then you get the person like me who is whining at the whiner, who whines at the whiners of the necro's.
But the you get the necro'er who starts this event chain...
And then finally you get the guys who just keep thier mouth shut do thier daily thing on the forums and don't make useless threads like this one.
See where im coming from here?

Why do people have this sick aversion to Necro threads... its not as if its going to eat your brains its not a zombie. The only necro'd threads I create or take part in are one with real issues, ideas and content. Why should they be left behind simly because people stopped posting in them 4 months ago because they were too lazy to turn to page 3 of the general section etc. Come on, quite being weird, go necro yourself. Actually that is not really true.
I had to go down 4 pages before I even found a post from yesterday.
It is very easy to miss a post unless you spend your days trolling.
Some posts may still be valid after 6 months some may not.
This I do find funny though
I find when people complain about nercos then a bit later on complain about another user starting up a new thread on a subject that has been posted before a bit hypocritical...

Actually idioms are not really the problem the word you were looking for is acronym's
