Edited by: Mysterlee on 17/05/2007 14:21:18 With the basic framework for heat on sisi, I can't help but think the interface could do with some improvements. When you're in the middle of a fight its not easy to go through and right click each gun, then overheat. I think it'd be a good idea to add new buttons to the left of your modules like this:
http://go-dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/5punkorp/heat.jpg
Hitting one of those buttons will automatically overheat all modules in the hi, med or low slots. If this can't be done then at the very least there should be a right click option to overheat all hi, med or low slots in one click.

as expected, lag will make most new features useless in some cases

I have to agree. The current overload interface is...I want to find a nice way to say "horrible", but there just isn't one.
There also doesn't appear to be any way of telling that a module is overheating. I overloaded an armor repairer until I ran out of cap and had no way of knowing what the heat status on it was.
IMO this feature is NOT ready.

What about something like this?
individual module overheating buttons
Overheating should be as easy as switching a module on or off, and buttons like these do just that. Ofcourse it doesn't have to be a green tick, it could be a red dot or whatever... that's not really important. What is important is a user-friendly interface and ease-of-use.

The interface currently on Sisi is a placeholder to allow us to test the pure functionality of the system. The UI programmers are working on a shinier, more ergonomic interface that will show which modules are overloaded, the total heat load of every rack and the damage of the modules, if such is the case. And probably other things as well. Just have patience and wait for the updates. And for Tuxy's blog. ^^

Edited by: Ridjeck Thome on 17/05/2007 16:52:19 i agree with this - as someone who has junked systems at work due to the number of mouse preses required to perform certain functions, please can you bear in mind stuff like ergonimics :).
The same problem exists with the current stupid system for changing ammo in guns - why have 8 mouse clicks when you could have 1?

add the ability to bind "shift+click" on turrets to heat toggle, thatd make it easier for those of us who like to use keyboard for everything apart from clicking the target

Another thing I noticed as well is it never gets to 0 heat once you turn them off, had mine to .39875677439 -7 and still going down when i finally docked.
Though I guess it will be fixed when they put in the finished interface.

Oh! oh!
make it so that you cannot dock while any module is overheated/hasn't cooled down enough for fear of damages to the docking port.
