Seriously CCP, you need to put in some mechanism that discourages people from just warping in at the end and killing the boss to get all the loot. A warp disruptor field that generates on drone spawn and stays active until the fight is over or all players leave the vicinity. Drop the end loot in a separate box based on who spawned and majority kill count. Whatever. But the people you are trying to recruit to sub, i.e. those that aren't flying around in the 7 year old T3 ships with 20K SP on their toon, aren't really digging this loot thieving. This might be turning me off the entire game. |

If this turns you off then EVE probably isn't the game for you, you just need to do more damage than the other person or find out of the way sites to run, the sites don't belong to anyone hence the game doesn't "protect" anything, welcome to healthy competition, even if the wreck were to be flagged to you, people would just steal the loot because hey know you won't fight for it :P

These sites work as they are intended. The loot belongs to the person who kills the ship. If you find that this is happening a lot you may want to adjust your ship use. Find something that complete the sites in a shorter amount of time, or a ship that can move quickly. Wait for them to kill the final NPC, steal the loot yourself and get out of their scram range.
If they play dirty, you should too.

Pre-lock the potential thief before they steal the loot and be ready to activate your point as soon as they go yellow. CONCORD has no problem with you locking up other players in highsec. If they time it perfectly they might still get away, but you have a decent shot at scrambling them and teaching them a lesson.

The solution is longer sites with mini bosses along the way. So even if someone steals the final boss you get some mini boss loot. Unless they contest you the entire site, in which case unfortunate, but it wasn't a last minute steal. |

highsec exploration involves a lot of contested sites. I suggest flying a ship that has a good chance at getting the final blow, and a prop mod so you can get to the wreck quickly. These are public sites anyone can do them.

If someone kills the final ship, the loot is technically theirs; unless you can steal it before they can scoop it, whereupon it becomes technically yours.
I use the word technically because it's not actually yours until it's safely in your hangar.

Sites themselves are totaly easy. If there would be no competition with other players they will be so boring repetitive... Get some medium guns with high alpha strike (like 720mm arty) and make sure you shoot in the right moment, so it will be your wreck + get close to the boss so you can loot him immediately. I think Geckos and some missiles works too.

And no one is stealing anything but the person who does most dps on last npc wins the prize, so it's you who is stealing it, if it is not your wreck.
Get a better ship, do more dps and you'll get the prize.

Well I had a plan. To go at it slightly differently and a bit of a white knight but an evil bastard one.
Take your veteran T3, preferably with a cloak, find the names of people complaining in local and ask them through pms for player name and ship type, then adjust your own ship accordingly. You know that this person will lose sites so ask them to team up with you. Let them run the content and sit cloaked right by the gate ready to pounce on the unsuspecting. The thief rolls in ready to steal at a moments notice, u see ship and probable fit, wait, then when your new bro best bud says last spawn you activate gate and warp in knowing the thief will likely steal said loot either way. And if you time it right you simply land, scram and go to town on the thief.
I like picking on the people that pick on people for some reason. Oh and the salt is WAAAAY better when they are "leet" pvpers and you are a scrub "minah!!"

Adapt and overcome, or just let it go and don't bother with it in some cases.
For this drone event, newer players could group up and run sites together. Put afterburners on frigates. Be fast and nimble and look into the game mechanics involved. Chances are one of you will survive and get away with the loot. One site's loot might buy a few fitted frigates with plenty left over...
This game can be a lot of fun, or horribly ragequit-induccing.
Really, it's up to you.

You are seeing here only the tip of the Iceberg of this game. You must adapt, improvise, find solutions, think, plan, act. This game is War and in wars you must learn when to run, when to hide, when to observe, when to spy and when to strike. If your experience is still low and SP below 1 year you are a prey and you must learn to hide and run. Later you will learn how to chase others and even better chase and kill those who chase the weak. This is the greatest fun.
Stick around and learn ! In time you will get more confident, understand he game mechanics, then bate the greedy and kill them. |

This is the fun part. I like to warp in at the end and try to get the credit for the final kill. So far I haven't been terribly successful in getting that loot jacker. However, 2 caracals with polarized missile launchers came in to gank a tornado with a high end fit and I did get the KMs on that. There's a lot of opportunity here. Stop playing the game and start playing the players would be my advice.

Guide on how i play these sites without getting disturbed by thieves:
- I do not fly these sites, i just go mining and then i buy all the skins and as much booster as i want at the end of the event because the prices are low.
Why do these sites dont look who entered the site first? And check who made the most kills/Damage on all enemys?
I think it is unfair to say that that ur ship/equipment is wrong. You have to deal with all the enemys, so you have to make you ship for this ready while the thief can build his ship just for ninja looting. Thats a big benefit for him. |

You are fundamentally and severely misunderstanding what EVE is as a game.
It wouldnt be EVE if the loot could NOT be stolen.
There are atleast a dozen things you can do to either prevent the theft or react to it.

Oh and the salt is WAAAAY better when they are "leet" pvpers and you are a scrub "minah!!" No finer or juicier salt in the world!!
There are no gates, the sites are a single area already spawned, chances are the person stealing the loot will be in a small ship and will warp away before your decloak lock timer expires unless you plan on warping in to the site at which point you've got a 20km burn to your target assuming they don't MWD away or again are in a frig and have already left the site :P |

My quotas with an blaster Gnosis I gimped a bit in order to be able to scan down (my) lost drones:
- 70 Sites run - Got 22 skill injectors - Only got contested around 10 times, most players warp off when they see the side is allready run. - Only lost the loot to other players 3 times. - Two times yellow flashing pilots warped in to provoke a fight.
Yes, I came of ahead most of the time in a simple Gnosis. The last ship allways warps in to almost the same position relative to the warp ins of the waves before. The trick is to sit there, log fast with a script running and blast away at 2000m. I only lost the kill to a Brutix that had better DPS, a Domi that bumped me out of perfect range and a pair of perfectily synchronized piloted machariels (overkill much?). I think the event is fine as it is. |

Stop playing the game and start playing the players would be my advice.

Finally! Thank you!
The Accelerator price dropped. The skins are dirt cheap. There was a time when PLEX dropping was something wow, now... I'd rather do a 1/10 and pray for some lucky drops... I jet canned 6 skins yesterday since I already had them and selling them all would've prolly made up 2 mil :)) Bounty is also meh... prolly people lost interest in the site already :D |

I came across a newer player who was using an Omen to run these sites. I warped in with my Tengu, last wave was wrapping up and I killed the boss npc for the site. Felt bad and dropped the skin that dropped and added a drone booster, marked the container as blue and said have fun and went on my way.
That will only happen with new bros though, anyone else can screw themselves =D |

The site does not belong to you, the loot is not your property, in EVE you only own something you can prevent from being taken by others, this applies to everything: territory, resources, your ship, your loot, your wrecks, your wormhole, your citadel, the cargo that you haul and so on. This is all intended. You build your dreams and others are there to wreck your dreams. Welcome to EVE.
As for stealing stuff, check my bio. Stealing the loot is all too easy and super fun, this time I don't even bother completing the sites the regular way at all as was in case of the Gala event as the rewards this time are unimpressive.
The strange thing is most people don't even prelock you and those who do are not fit properly to prevent you from escaping. This is all carelessness. If you don't care to protect what you wish to be yours or even claim is yours then you do it wrong.
I am one of those who will link in local what I've stolen especially if it involves the only useful event item the training accelerator, though I have so many of those as well that I already have the remaining time from the event covered by them and same goes for my corp mates, I gift the stolen stuff to my corp but even they don't need most of it.
Those who are curious I do this for one thing only, the excitement and adrenaline which is practically the same, not for ISK, not even for the loot, just for the fun of it. *giggles*
A very few of my victims take it as they should, as a game and it is good to see such people, had some nice conversations with such people of exchange of a few messages, great people they are, they make EVE great, the rest get angry and all upset for no reason because of their space pixels were taken away and blame others for their own failures. There are several approaches to preventing your loot being taken, no I will not do your homework for you, anyone can figure these out so you can't even claim you have no chance at all.
But let me give you a hint because I feel generous: You can look me up on zkill and even see my fit, the less than 1% of the cases when I was stopped, the rest were too careless to stop me, it can be done with ease and though it is not shown exactly you still can figure out the two different approaches, let me help, each person used a different one, the rest is easy to recognize. There are other methods as well however so your options are quite wide in protecting your stuff, thus, you have no excuse if you don't. |

That will only happen with new bros though, anyone else can screw themselves =D did the same in HS. Actually I stole the site from the same guy 5 times and felt bad for him, so when a booster was dropped I just didnt pick the loot and marked it blue, then told in local "take it's blue"
Also, he said gg the first time I ninja'd him and the time I ninja'd with booster so I thought, a good mind like that must be rewarded.
People who call me an *******, well I just tell them "hate the game not the gamers". |
