Edited by: JaiMaster on 07/01/2004 08:30:02 This post is to EV members, and specifically con mal. It will also highlight how EV treats its membership and the maturity level of its leadership, to any non-EV player who is wasting his or her time reading this post.
First off, to Con Mal thank you for booting me simply because you lost an argument with me in corp chat. To then label me a mineral thief for not turning in my own minerals at ludicrous corp prices and refusing to mine scordite for the corperation (an odd proposal, since im not in the mining wing) is just insane. Your bio picture is of a full grown man holding a child. Im sure most of the membership will be stunned to learn you are actually the child in that picture.
To the membership - glad to have played with you. I was planning to leave corp shortly anyway, as testing cruisers against castor NPC spawns isnt my idea of a good time. Intead I was booted for daring to question the corps mineral and ore prices and policy (see the chatlog below). Apparantly the proposition that members should not waste time mining scordite is not what the slave drivers wanted to hear
NB - the following log, out of some misguided sense of respect to EV to protect corperate information, has had names of systems and unrelated discussion removed.

Can open, worms everywhere
I would add that there is no private conversations going on behind this, no warnings of "continue arguing and there will be trouble", not even "youve been booted from EV, goodbye". I didnt realise id been booted from EV until around 10 minutes later :)
FYI con, I expect full ISK value payout of my EV mineral account. Else that would make you the mineral thief, wouldnt it?

Nirvy, I was clearly responding to Raynors (?)attack on us, which came out of no where. Before, I had stated that EV, or Everlasting, was just one member corp of Stain, unless I had missed something. I hope this clears up any murky references in my previous postings.

What a waste of your memberships time. I won't go into exactly how we manage production but I can assure you our members do not mine CRAP. Our members make anywhere from 2mill(haulers)-5mill(best mining rigs) per hour when we occasionally hold a mining op.
Of course we aren't obsessed with making the corp rich at the expense of our members. All we need is enough to fuel our military and occasional BP acquisitions. We encourage members to try their hands at prod/sales or whatever else may trip their trigger. We have always held to the motto "powerful members make for a powerful corp".

Though this is not the way we do things, it makes sense for a corporation to buy at a lower price to make isk...
Being part of a corporation, especially one as large as EV, provides a great amount of prestige, protection, and resources. In turn expecting members to participate in helping to make the corp successful is to be expected. Members who are only concerned about their wallets and not ensuring the success of their organization should join a freelance corp or go solo.
You complain that you had a problem with the way things were done, and thats fine but it should have been done privately and not by taking pot shots at the managements decisions in front of other corporation members, which I suspect would be the reason for your expulsion. Would you go in front of your entire office and your boss and complain endlessly about the way things were done and then expect not to be fired?
I see a huge difference between an honest attempt to voice an opinion and just complaining about the way things are. Obviously you are upset about being kicked out, and I understand that, but the problem I see is if this issue was worth flaming the corporation in public corp chat, why not quit before you got to this point in the first place.
In short, I feel badly for what has happened, but I think that EV has every right to ask for contribution from it's members in whatever way works best for them, and that your expulsion was indeed justified. Sorry man.

Edited by: Mistress D'Malice on 07/01/2004 16:48:56 Alexandra I agree with you for most of your reply. But when the corporate wallet gets fat and the people that MAKE it fat are stuck flying cruisers...somethings wrong. If what this person has said is true, which is an assumption I will admit, then why does EV pay half the market price for a high end ore? Buying at a discounted rate is fine....as we do the same thing. But half?
And to kick someone out fo the corporation because they disagree with policy is just wrong. If he is a member he should be free to voice his opinion or suggest an alternative solution. I did not see any truly negative comments for the most part until the "rip off" line came out. Con Mal should have been the "bigger" man and pulled him into a private convo and discussed it further.
I am surprised to hear that a corporation as large and well structured as EV doesnt have some sort of policy about kicking some one out.

Id have to side with Alexandra.
It does depend on how the corp is setup, but in the chatlog he states hes thinking of leaving before hes kicked.
In a nutshell corp management sucks - no tracking, and no tax, No salary system, thus CEO's struggle with a happy medium, and as the corp gets bigger they end up spending so much time trying to organise things.
Personally Ive been so much better off being freelance, in all sorts of ways, and not just isk, than I was being a mid-small corp CEO.

I can't understand how ppl can treat ppl that way in a game. Its not like it is RL where ppl have the boss/subordiante relationship in play. This is a game and to use other ppl for their own purposes is worse than anything a pirate can do. Atleast a pirate is what he is. He isnt a slavemaster.

LOL.... Best way to tell EV is really getting to the Curse Alliance of Pirates. The CA guys and their pirate lackeys (or is it Pirate guys and CA lackeys I can't keep track anymore?) crawl from their holes and troll the topic the best they can to stir up bad PR for the enemy.
Oh and JaiMaster. This will not be the last corp you get booted from if you argue with the guy in charge in an open forum. If you want to arge with a high ranking officer of a large corp, do it in private and in a respectful manner. It's not what you said but how you said it that showed a lack of respect and you paid the price.
By coming here to air your dirty laundry no corp with any sense will ever trust you. Gratz... you just screwed yourself worse than EV. But hey, maybe some CA corp will take you. The CA seems to have an open door policy when it comes to SA rejects.

You get a big corp and not everyone is going to get along. Evry corp is run a little different from any other corp. Some CEO's will let people arge with them, others will not. Not every corp is a good fit for every player. Pretty straight forward case of wrong guy in the wrong corp.

Its not military man, he as everyone else is PLAYING a game and it should be fun, not a chore.
You must have seen it in RL that when some sorts of peaple get some tiny bit of power over others it gets to their heads right away and they start tramping on those who cant really defend them selfs without being punished.
This was a classic example of such abuse of power and I bet this is not the first time and wont be the last time such abuse is done.
Also I think that more peaple have quit the game because of mind numbing slave jobs they are given in their corps than have quit after they were killed by player pirates.
But as I said a classic example of power abuse. Spawn of the Devil
