Edited by: INkog on 07/01/2004 07:57:12 Indys have an insane amount of CPU but no grid? I just purchased my first Badger MK II and I can't figure out what the hell to do with 1100 CPU. (not without more grid anyway). I thought I'd at least be able to throw on one semi-uber, CPU intensive turret for defence, but noting like this exists... Am I missing something? Tech II holds the key, maybe?... Maybe Tech V?

Its for mining laser they have very high cpu demands. At least that my theory.

not that high, unless it is for later lasers but still, that is going to mean a lot of AFK mining if indy's are to bother with miners.

Theres a rare mod around the place called a Micro Auxiliary Power core, 16 cpu usage and 10 powergrid output, I asume when a med or large Variant of this is released, you'll be able to use up all that cpu, and have lottsa Powergrid to play with.
ps. your Badger is Lame, train Amarr indie

That module is just the same as an RCU 1... Only uses less cpu

Once upon a time it was rumored that the high CPU of Industrials where due to Mobile Refineries.
This is obviously not the case since Mobile Refineries are now entities of their own and not a module you fit to something.
Guess they just forgot to remove the high CPU -------------------------

Once upon a time in the ancient days the indies had cruiser powergrids to go with the cpu. They dropped the power but not the cpu.

No the Micro Auxilliary Powercore adds 10 pg (the RCU1 adds 10%) so it adds more than an an RCU1 if used on all frigates and most if not all indys So a larger version of this unit,if it ever appears, may for example add 100 pg for 160 cpu

I have heard of some people using indys as EW ships - given their high cpu and medium slots...

Fair enough since I haven't actualy seen that thing ingame yet... I figured it was 10% though as some descriptions are kinda crap. Cheers!
