er, what now?
anyway target painter is nearly done. im also going to update the site with all the first frames taken from every GIF for use as the static images on rollover (see killboard thread linked a few posts up) and host that as well. when i finish the TP ill post it individually here but i wont place it on the site till i get a batch of new animations/updates done.

i would like to, but i dont think i will.
The problem with XL Turrets is, they are so large in "RP" terms, that they have to be cramped a bit to be shoved into a 64x64 image. as a result the images are cluttered and its hard for me to alter specific parts to eb able to animate themthe only one i could probably do off the bat are the giga lasers which dont really require any moving parts. i will however probably give them a ***** at some point, and maybe just a cheap little animation if moving parts arent possible.

anyway, Missiles are a very big gray area at the minute. Missile launchers would obviously need to launch the missiles they are tied with, and the icons/missiles simply dont fit. it would take a hell of a lot of bastardizing to get something anywhere near "decent" and even then i have idea on how to animate in such a way that it wouldn't look god awful

Please CPP, if you make this an ingame feature, make it optional. I don't want them to hinder the usabilty of the interface. Remember the age of web pages full with animated gifs?

hah. if these ever make it ingame ill be incredibly astonished in the first place, but if they ever did im fairly certain they would'nt be dotted around the flight UI, and probably only used in things like mission descriptions or hangars whilst docked, where it should really matter if you lose a few FPS to it.

Having the barrel recoiling on railguns and autocannons seems wrong to me (personal feeling, the barrel looks too slim)
Maybe add in the look of a dismantling SABOT on the bigger guns (Check the picture on the right): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabot ___

a barrel on a railgun would most definatley recoil, given the amount of force to fire a projectile at near the speed of a railgun slug.
Autocannons, fair one. but without a barrel recoil there is little room if any to add in the effect properly. and it looks fine either way.

Can you do the MWD difent from the AB , I was thinking somethin like the ab but faster and whit the intesnsity of the medium laser , also the warp distruptor can use some more love , you still have injectors (same as ab but red jet), nanofibers fading from a solid box to just a skelet , inertia stabs (wobeling around at high speed) , sensor damps (proly emiting the bule circle as they do ingame), cargo expanders (got no ideeas here maybe go from very small growin in about 3 sec to normal size and then emiting red like shield hardeners).
Anyway great work , Remind me to send you some isk

Nice stuff i will just say tho that railguns dont have a recoile due to how they work.
To put it simply the railgun doesant move but the projectile does as its accelerated out of the barrel by the rings of magnets.

with the TP I see something a bit different.
Instead of the marker waving around, what if instead the three dots are focused on the ship with a yellow color (similar to the 'locking' box we get), and each corner of the triangle slides in one at a time, settling inplace. They would ALL be yellow (like its taking time to lock the target ship) and once the third and final triangle tip comes in place, the three dots and triangles will fade to red (symbolizing a full lock).
Maybe a clockwise rotation at a slow speed would work too.

Well I like it but it kinda feels like it's locking then loosing lock with the way that it cycles. Um maybe cause the locked graphic to last a bit longer?
