My Setup:
7x Neutron Blaster Cannon II 1x 100mn MWD 1x Webber 1x Scrambler 1x Heavy Injector
2x 1600mm Plates 2x MFS II 2x EAN II 1x DC II
3x Trimark Armor Pump I 1x 3% Turret CPU Reduction Implant
Highly Recommended: LG Slave set.
I use it in small gangs. It lacks the speed for solo tbh.
If you want an active tank, just use a Hyperion, its way better at that :)

I don't know if this was supposed to be a reply rather than a new thread, but you're going to be about as fast and maneuverable as a webbed Dread with that setup, and with the sig radius the MWD gives you, you may as well be flying a Dread.

not really... he's going to be a bit slow, but the range of the Neutron blaster Cannon II's are making up for it, by far... With Void L he can start hitting his targets at ~12 km
oh and... 3 plates + EANM + DC > 2 plates + 2 EANM + DC just downgrade the injector to a medium, its enough for you anyways, since you dont got a rep to sustain.

I love this setup, keep going back to it. Prefer 2x 1600, 1x DCU, 1x EAN, 3x Magstabs - overloaded the weapons on sisi give's a dmg mod of over 12 and i still got gal bs 5 to finish
Tried med booster and LARII, sucks for cap, tried fitting some Pg and cap rigs and heavy booster buts thats a waste of rig slots jsut to compensate for the first setups cap problems.

stacking pens make those two webber drones rather useless. Webber drones as a whole are fairly useless. This isn't stacking pen in the MFS way, more stacking pen in the % of a % way.
Also, why bother with a CCC, just fit an Injector. The Damp is pretty useless compared to a jector. Then just replace the CCC rig with something useful, and remove the damage rig because it too is fairly worthless with 3x MFS II's (they share the same stacking penalty).
For rigs,
1x PG (if you need) 2x Trimark (since you're going passive).
e; use a medium jector, and i'm fairly certain you don't need the PG rig. No point really in a heavy jector without a LAR II to feed. ------------- The above user should never be taken seriously. |

Damn... nobody told you about using a 4e damagemod and especially damagerigs?
There a very handy rule on rigs: dont fit rigs if you can use standard modules to do it better.
Active tank --> go standard hardeners Gank --> damagemods
Use the rigslots for something that really adds: like caprecharge/extention, speed, passive tanking or for things you cannot achieve with modules. For example more dampeningpower.
I would like to see this changed, but as it stands some rigs are teh awesome and others you can fill every rigslot with or use up one simple moduleslot to achieve the same.
This is about rigs in general offcourse, fitting a damprig on a mega should be illegal. _________________________________________________ Breetime

I'd say train your gunnery skills before using the ship, a Thorax can do better than that. Hell, a neutron Enyo comes close.
Also drop the medium repper and add a Damage Control (10,000 extra structure HP > medium repper).

I tried both setups in EFT:
1: armor effective hp: 89545 2: armor effective hp: 88448
So not really much of a difference, but the resist setup is still better imo.

One setup i'm experimenting with atm:
7x Modal Neutrons 1x med nos (meh)
Mwd web scram Heavy cap injector (w/800's)
2x 'accomodation' reppers kin hardie therm hardie exp hardie DCU II MFS II
rigs: Ancillary current router/Armor explosive pump/empty slot
drones: whatever i decide to stick in at the time...
can't remember that stats offhand atm, but the explosive dmg hole in the armor is well and truly plugged so when the hardies go active, the explosive resist is the same (or slightly greater than) the kin and therm resist.
...any suggestions on what to fill the last rig slot with/alter the loadout to a better one would be appreciated :)

I'm thinkin' about maybe this setup except swapping the MWD and the web for maybe 2 T2 tracking computers?
I figure in a gang setting, you'll must likely drop in on some gang anyway so MWDing to them won't be an issue, and others will be around with webs, or you'll be shooting the fatter guys anyway. With the Tracking computers you'll actually have more range and do more damage becuase you'll get "better" hits. Your alot more often to get "wrecking" hits, or atleast in my experience. Any thoughts?

Your effective range is still barely 30km with null, and blasters already hit great outside of 15km. The kind of stuff you don't hit without two tracking comps still isn't getting hit if you stick the comps on.
The MWD is also very very nice to have, even if you don't need it to get in range. It greatly adds to your combat mobility so you can move if you need to. Plus you retain the ability to get close and hammer away with void or antimatter if you need the extra damage.
The web on the otherhand is not absolutley necessary if your in a competant small gang but that depends on your gang makeup. If you have a heavy tackler in gang then you don't need it, its case by case basis. But ECCM or a sensor booster are still much more useful than a tracking comp in the place of a web, as they go to defeat potentially devestating EW aswell as increasing the time to scan you out and your lock time respectivly. ---

I didnt have the CPU even with the implant for this setup so I swapped a EANM II for a thrid mag stab II |

Original post was made before the EAN II nerf. There are a few ways around that, easiest one using best named DC instead of DC II.

2 EANM + 2 plates still beats out EANM and 3 plates. The difference in effective HP is negligible, but with 2 EANMs vs. 1 EANM, when gangmates are remote repping you they essentially rep more effective hp. That's far more valuable than the 1-2k more effective hp you get with the third plate.

i would definatly agree... heavy nuetralizer drones are actually very effective and would save your ass if some crazy shield tanker had a killer tank that you couldnt break... although 5 berserkerIIs is another 100 dps and 60% resists and they attack even if you are jamed... i still think the nuetralizers would be very effective though.
