Edited by: tigress on 07/01/2004 14:00:07 In castor? The problem is the AGE-old problem from beta still lingers (log out in a system and you always jump in to that point from now on). And I guess that is the thing making these bugs. Because when travelling I never go 100% gate-gate jumping, some systems I end up in the middle of nowhere, or even at the old JIP's. Is this not known amongst the devs? --

I thought this was to be corrected aswell, I still find myself ending up stuck in the middle of stations while making my trips gate to gate. Seems to only happen per login session, like if you had been in that system, you end up where you were last docked at. If you log off and back on it doesnt do it until you dock at a station.

I think they know about it... the closest I can figure is it has something to do with the last "manual" action you have, usually flying, maybe docking, and turning on afterburners. Turnin on autopilot might do it too.
Strange thing is it seem sporadic and sometimes random. I'd say it needs serious testing to see exactly what makes it happen.

Yes it's the randomness that is the problem.. you never know where youre gonna end up.. this seriously undermines the faith ibn the system and that you can count on ending up in a safe place. --

It also seems to be tied to the 'randomly not appearing cloaked when jumping into a system you've been in already during a login session'.

... reposted from another thread, what i can figure out about it:
Essentially, seems that when jumping in the system, you always appear there in the same spot in space you were placed at when you entered it the last time, 'entering' being the session change.
I.e. if you came in through a jump gate, you will be back at the spot near that very jumpgate. If you entered the system by undocking from station, you will be back near that station.
If 'tis 'insertion' happens for the second, third etc time during single game session, you won't be cloaked.

It has one big advantage at least. It minimizes the time for mission doers as when you jump in your agent system you always appear right in front of his station. Anything that reduces my mission time can't be that bad ay ;)
