I am looking at investing in a Chimera Blueprint. I was thinking about researching it abit and then selling copies.. Is this correct.. It takes 8 weeks (without skills) to make a 1 run copy?

Originally blueprint copies were unlimited run blueprints that you couldn't copy from or research. Now blueprints copies have limited runs, but BPO's still have the original copy time as base. I suspect that there's a base modifier that cuts it dramatically.

I cant log on to check the correct number but 8 weeks sounds about right for capital ship BPOS. (I assume you are looking to find out whether 8 weeks was some sort of horrible bug or whether its really supposed to take that long?)

Don't believe me? Look up prototype cloak BPO's, those appear to still have the old times as base. Somehow I doubt skills alone can take 2 weeks 4 days down to 3 hours 20 minutes, even with science V :P
Edit: And carriers don't have that at all, weird. I'd always thought base carrier copy time was 1 month too.

Nope, in a POS with max skills it takes 33 days to do a one run copy. I sell them at ME 5 myself.

Its not so bad if you dont have materials to manufacture it, or if the market is poor,, but yeah,,, copies suck

Better than nothing and I make back the cost of the BPO in 12-15 months. Since I am currently in High Sec, I cannot build them right now.
