G'day folks,
Our latest story is called "Most Ancient" and concerns the last day at work for a certain venerable someone. Do not anger old people, for they have too much time on their hands and far too much experience to draw on.

Being someone who's worked with some older guys in the construction business, this put a big old grin on my face.

It was well written, certainly.
What did it have to do with EVE though?

Oh yes, I imagine Abraxas could easily write drivel if he wanted.
As an apprentice writer myself, I know how much actual work goes in to writing a good piece. Abraxas clearly has talent, but don't fool yourself, he's putting a good amount of effort and "work" into these stories. The secret is (like most jobs) to enjoy the work.

Oh yes. I wrote a very long story called "The Book of Hours", filled it with all sorts of religious imagery, layers of meaning and such, and found that it didn't really work. So I ended up splitting it into three parts, plus a coda that I want to flesh out. Those three parts became "The History of Flight", "Most Ancient" and a third, upcoming piece called "A Mind of Infinite Complexity". The coda, which was only a couple of paragraphs, will be a companion piece of sorts to "Mind", balancing out its positivity with a bottomless well of blackness, because I can never leave anything good unblemished. It'll probably be called "The Darker Side of Wonder".

Wonderful! I am still working to soak in every last drop of EVE text. Hopefully someday I plan on typing up some decent fiction. Or at least attempting. ;)
