Vigil is a subsidiary of SOE isn't it? Or did SOE just change their name because nobody will play their crap-ass games anymore?
I wub 40k, tis my favourite sci-fi setting of all (makes EVE's 'dark and gritty' empires seem like a hippyfest compared to the Imperium of Man), but there's no way in hell I'm playing a SOE game. Ever. Anywhere.
Plus GW are money-*****s on the whole and they're having financial trouble as it is (what was it, 33 stores just closed?). Who can say WoW40k?

Afaik Vigil Games aren't anything to do with SoE.
They're a fairly new studio who did some work on Exarch, an RPG due to be published by NCSoft which never made it to release.

Youre thinking about Sigil Games. Different company.

Oh cool. I heard that Vigil was run by SOE from somebody else, I didn't realise there were two different companies.
*glee*
Now they need to make either Chaos Marines or Raveners playable and I'll be a happy nerd.

Originally by: MalarEnares Remember, the space marines were originally all one chapter, but were split to ensure no one person would command so many elite warriors.
Each chapter (Space Wolves, Dark Angels etc) have a number of company's (each company numbers are approx 300 - 400 marines).
I am not sure how many company's there are off the top of my head, but their aint enough coz everyone would want to play as a space marine, rather than an imperial guardsmen.
Also, I wonder if they would let Dreadnought's be a playable race etc...now that would be cool using a power fist hehe.
Even more so, how about playing Nightlord / Chaos Space Marines......or even a Norn Queen

~edit: space marines started off as roughly 10 legions, numbering from 100 to basically 21398239842340984234908234 ultra marines, luna wolves, dark angels, iorn hands, death gaurd etc
according to the inquisition (for all you fluff lovers) each chapter consists of 10 companys, each consisting of 100 space marines, and their support. of each chapter 4-5 are "combat companys" the others are reserves. now supposedly there are only 1000 chapters, but over the past 10 milenia, some have disappeared and others have taken their place. there are also chapters like the black templar, which are rumored to number in the tens of thousands spread over the entire galaxy on many crusades.
ok so i am a space marine buff...

i would wanna be a fallen dark angel, it would account for the numbers (as there's supposidly half a legion kicking about there somewhere) and also mean u wouldnt have to follow the rules

the deal they have includes the Necromunda IP and some other one (inquisition?) but i forget which, so its safe to assume they'll be including at least one hive, possibly more (maybe as instances) and probably at least the original houses.
